  • @scottgillig908
    @scottgillig908 4 года назад +8

    Hi Christian, the reason the narrower sample of Inozetek tunneled, was because of one thing for sure, and another thing possibly. The narrower sample of Inozetek was not sent to you on a cardboard core. If they had just wrapped it up by hand that's what's going to happen. Another reason COULD be that there wasn't enough steam applied to the vinyl as it went through the face pass of the adhesive coater. Because paper is very porous it will absorb moisture. With Inozetek using a plastic backing ( liner ) it needs no steam applied to it because plastic typically repels water, it doesn't absorb it. Inozetek's use of a plastic liner could raise the price of their product. But with the end result being the most glossy of all of the samples, it could be the best best in the long run.
    My best,
    Scott

    It's a fair point to mention the finish, but I'd care about the overall quality of the vinyl itself more than the finish. A little orange peel for a higher quality vinyl would be fine with me. Cheaper finer might look prettier finish wise but it won't last as long.

    THANK YOU. I have been trying to describe this to non-vinyl installers who want their car wrapped. Although 3M and Avery are popular and very easy to use, it does NOT mean that it is the best. Personally I never recommend to go with those brands if I can help it just because I prefer a clearer/ glossier wrap that look better when installed. I find that since they are extremely thin they show every imperfection on the paint as well, and as someone who wraps mostly drift cars, we try to do minimal prep since they're going to get re-wrapped so often and I prefer a thicker material which usually have higher gloss finishes.

Rather than have him spot paint all those imperfections I figured I would wrap the whole car. However, the last thing I want to do is wrap it in a bunch of orange peel. This video was UNBELIEVABLY helpful.

    Hey there Chris, great and insightful video as always. I'd like to know if there is a way to order Inozetek through you somehow? Inozetek's official page requires a company for purchase and that's a little disappointing. Thanks in advance 8)

    Can clear PPF be installed on top of vinyl wrap, and then ceramic coated? Will The ceramic coating make it glossy and smooth out everything regardless of vinyl brand? How is the durability of Inozetek compared to the top brands?

      There's nearly no point in ceramic coating PPF since most good quality films come with hydrophobic and scratch resistant capabilities. But you can ppf over wrap

      @@CKWraps thanks, have you used GSFW colored PPF? Would you recommend that or Inozetek + PPF? Also, does PPF over vinyl cancel out any benefits from the vinyl such as high gloss? Will the PPF level out the visual playing field of the different vinyl brands?

      @@richard-mai I personally would buy Inozetek from Alibaba, eBay or Aliexpress if you want to save money you can find all of their colors there. It's also the same cheap film but at a higher cost. Good friends of mine with professional shops have had major issues with Inozetek which is another reason why I stay away. I've seen the color fade in a few short months.
      I've installed GSWF on the roof on my Jaguar and it is pretty terrible as well. It's another type of film which is found on eBay, Alibaba and Aliexpress. Using any type of slip solution causes the film to not adhere but if you simply use water then you won't be able to get the bubbles out so it's a lose lose in my opinion. I had to install it dry which was extremely difficult to do solo.
