Hi Christian, the reason the narrower sample of Inozetek tunneled, was because of one thing for sure, and another thing possibly. The narrower sample of Inozetek was not sent to you on a cardboard core. If they had just wrapped it up by hand that's what's going to happen. Another reason COULD be that there wasn't enough steam applied to the vinyl as it went through the face pass of the adhesive coater. Because paper is very porous it will absorb moisture. With Inozetek using a plastic backing ( liner ) it needs no steam applied to it because plastic typically repels water, it doesn't absorb it. Inozetek's use of a plastic liner could raise the price of their product. But with the end result being the most glossy of all of the samples, it could be the best best in the long run. My best, Scott
Very informative details. Explains why so many of the wraps in the videos I've been watching look almost matte even when they are not. Thanks for posting.
I just used the 2080 recently and like the way it wraps now versus the old 1080. Huge improvement. Finish not the best in Gloss but I prefer the Satins anyways. That Inozetek wraps like KPMF, no stick until heat and heals the same way.
It's a fair point to mention the finish, but I'd care about the overall quality of the vinyl itself more than the finish. A little orange peel for a higher quality vinyl would be fine with me. Cheaper finer might look prettier finish wise but it won't last as long.
Great video, I was just about to make my purchase to wrap my own vehicles, I was leaning towards 3m but now Im rethinking. But great video and thank you, thank you,
THANK YOU. I have been trying to describe this to non-vinyl installers who want their car wrapped. Although 3M and Avery are popular and very easy to use, it does NOT mean that it is the best. Personally I never recommend to go with those brands if I can help it just because I prefer a clearer/ glossier wrap that look better when installed. I find that since they are extremely thin they show every imperfection on the paint as well, and as someone who wraps mostly drift cars, we try to do minimal prep since they're going to get re-wrapped so often and I prefer a thicker material which usually have higher gloss finishes.
What wrap do you use then? im trying to wrap my car but cant really afford the top teir ones do you have any that you could suggest if you had to go budget?

I have decided to wrap my 69 Corvette. My friend was a bodyman for 25 years and he has been color sanding it so the finish is 100% flat. The problem is there are a lot of dings and imperfections.
