    Have the same issue with my Volvo. More pronounced after Ive driven around for 15 minutes. Really bad after a highway trip. Every time I stop and start moving a bit i hear 1 to 3 pops like this from the front wheel area. On Volvos its called Axle Ping, but it may also be a wheel bearing in my case. Hopefully you can figure yours out.

      Dave B in my case it was some joint in the suspension arm needed to be tightened. I don’t remember exactly what it was, but if you need help I can try to find the receipt from that servicing to see what they wrote

      @@gothops154 Absolutely if you can let me know what was replaced it might be next on my list to check. I appreciate it. This issue for me is frustrating because there's no tears in the boots, there's no noise during the beginning of my trips, just after a while like something get loose.

      @@gotzz84 In my case I'm fairly sure its the driver's side axle. Fortunately it hasn't gotten worse yet although the boot is starting to tear. Unfortunately 5 shops have tried and failed to remove it. Its either the retainer clip stuck in the differential or something worse causing the axle to be stuck in there. I've replaced other suspension components without issue but the noise persists. I will have to take it to a transmission shop

    It's the strut bearings jamming up causing the spring to jump as it spins without the bearing turning.

    I'm curious I may be experiencing the same issue. My 2010 jeep compass is making a clacking noise upon acceleration and deceleration. 1-3 clunk noises at a time. Sometimes even when shifting from park to reverse or park to drive. It doesn't however make the noise when revved in park or nuetral. Please and thank you any thing helps!

      @gothops154  5 лет назад +2

      Phillip Pardo I still haven’t figured out what it is. I also have the noise under initial acceleration/deceleration and also if I’m stoped/at parking lot speeds and turn the wheel from full left to full right (and vice versa). Not sure if it suspension or drivetrain. 2017 Cherokee V6 FWD

    • @gothops154

      The CV boot looks in tact, but haven’t gotten it professionally checked. The internet suggests that if it’s a CV issue then you’ll hear a constant clicking noise when doing a circle with the car in full lock and that doesn’t occur, but that doesn’t necessarily rule it out either

    I have my vehicle making sorts of humming or grinding noise when decelerating all the way from 40km/h to the stop, what problem can that be? I also tried to keep the speed around 30km/h for a range of distance, so the speed was kept around 30km/h all the time, the sort of the humming and grinding sounds are appearing the most noticeable during the journey. I’ve replaced the brake rotors and pads as due to the noise, but the noise just stays the same.
