Burlap Micarta is my favorite. The micarta on this knife looks fantastic. Kizer is showing up with some great looking stuff!

That is a really cool fixed blade, great size and shape. Kizer bringin the heat in 2021! This is a perfect price range and D2 holds up well, but it would be cool to see this design in a really sweet steel like M4. Put that same kinda coating on it to protect it.
Im sure if this one does well then it would possibly come with better steel later, possibly

Love the feel of linen micarta. As far as color goes, for me it goes black, natural (brown), red, then green.
My favourite micarta is wood.

Black Micarta is my favorite. I have the Ace Biblio Giant Mouse with Black Micarta and it's beautiful. The Kizer Harpoon is sweet.

I just got one in a blade trade and i absolutely love this knife. The ergos are perfect in my hand. Maybe a little jimping on top should happen but im impressed with it. You can always rit dye the micarta if you dont like the color of the handle
Denim micarta, hands down. I have this in D2 with the black and white G10 scales. I would love me some micarta though. Not a huge D2 fan but this is a knife that gets a lot of carry time. I give it an 800 grit working edge and a good stopping. My only complaint is the choil is a bit sharp on the finger. If it came in 14c28n I would buy 2.

Ivory Micarta. Under $60 good times. Take the edges off the back with some 400 sand paper. Dead Pool Harpoon what’s not to like? Cut sumpin.

5:50 I find this knife is best carried belt buckle carry. That way the handle snuggles right onto your body, with the buckle side loop being raised.

I have the Kizer Sequoia and Little River Bowie. Both very nice knives that come with good sheaths. I like what I'm seeing in the Harpoon.. it would definitely make a great EDC knife... another one to add to my list.
I was wondering why my D2 Kizer Elgon wasn’t as sharp as it’s meant to be.,I mirror polished the edge, and it got slick. I’ll redo it on a 600 grit stone. I learn a lot from your reviews. Thank you.
My belt loops on my Kizer sheath won’t fit my belt. They fit a 10mm belt max. Mine is 25mm.
Gosh... Kizer is just destroying it! O'light revealed today that they're the build house for the O'knife. SMH... it's like they can do no wrong with they're designs this year.
My favorite Micarta is a light to mid brown that looks natural, almost like it’s the color of pine wood.
i was looking at one of these in the past, that micarta is beautiful. my next fixed blade will be a esee 3 HM with the broomstick style handles without a choil, for all my camping and edc needs.

I like a soft, textured Micarta. The color really depends on the knife. If I had to pick a favorite.... Grey. Good looking fixed blade! Not too in to them, but I'm really considering a Sea Snake. Mike would be proud! Lol. ✌️

Just received the knife. I give it a 6/10.
I am evaluating it based on use for self defense and edc. Its very good, especially for the sale price on Amazon, however, a far better option is the Spyderco Street Beat. More on that later.
I do not advocate the use of budget options for self defence, unless they are thoroughly tested as viable. I wouldn't suggest buying this knife for that role, but if you do, I see modifying it as absolutely necessary.
I wouldn't suggest buying this knife if it isn't on sale. Basically, the knife design is unfinished and is focused on esthetics far more than utility. If you are buying it as a defensive option, read until the end. If you are buying it because you think it will look cool at the campsite or in the kitchen, go for it. However, be advised, the blade coating will annoy you while chopping veggies and wiping it clean, in that role.
For those still reading this, here is my list of nit picks:
Many edges on the handle and sheath need to be deburred or broken/smoothed. Sheath holds on to the knife a little oddly, reducing my confidence in retention, especially in a struggle. Extracting from sheath requires a little too much effort, or not enough depending on the sheath you are provided with (I have a sample size of 2 units). Handle should be less slippery in sweaty hands. Was a chore to draw from the overly tight sheath provided, causing grip traction issues and hot spots. Needs a thin ricasso to buffer fingers from the blade edge while executing a plunge cut or stab. Butt profile is good for striking, but with a small knife that isn't as necessary as a quick grip change, so the sharply beveled butt should be rounded off to facilitate that. The way it is now, it gets hung up in the palm and is painful in thrusting. Insertion into the sheath is awkward and blade edge gets hung up, dulling the edge. Handle could be skeletonized to reduce weight because it feels very handle heavy. The blade balance is certainly not neutral as a defense knife should be. Belt attachnent using provided method needs refinement because it moves too much on the belt, causing insertion and removal issues. A good (unnecessary) addition would be jimping on the spine of the blade and handle to aid in thrusts and overall control.
I have not yet tested edge retention or toughness, so time will tell.
In all, its a decent budget option but will require some work by the purchaser to make it safe and useable.
My overall suggestion? For a little more money, just buy a readily available current production Spyderco Street Beat or better yet, Street Bowie, and rest assured knowing you carry the best defensive fixed blade money can buy.
Agreed on sheath , but mine got better overtime and not so tight. Also I got used to using thumb to get it out. No problems with wet hands here but I do have bigger hands. That said it certainly becomes a problem with lack of some sort of guard, it certainly can be painful and I even cut myself on the corner with it when thrusting hard. Haven't done hard testing but edge retention seems good for d2.

I got and love this knife. Sadly the coating is not very durable at all and the micarta looks great after it picks up oil.

Actually, the coating being crap is good.. D2 with a satin, or polish finishing, even stone wash, resists rust well. I carried a bk24 forever, and it only ever got a little dingy

If this had a benchmade logo on it, it would prob cost $150. Change my mind. Same goes for the civivi elementum fixed in D2.

Yep. And the quality in a BM has dropped. Or Spyderco logo would boost price without actually improving the product.. unless they used cruwear, or m4, lc200n.. you get the idea.
Green and black linen if it comes out like the scale on my smock. The green and black linen micarta on that zt came out looking no different than regular green linen. Idk if you remember the way my smocks scales look.
I thought your smock was a bit lighter in color, similar to the kizer grazioso i have, but just darker maybe im remembering wrong

I wonder what the chances are of them releasing another variant with better steel or atleast different blade finish. Nothing worse than when a knife has alot of things done right and then they do one thing that destroys the cutting performance! Drives me crazy!😵😤🤦🏻♂️

I got mine today. Made the mistake of of touching the tip very so lightly and cut me pretty deep. You could literally shave with this thing. Make sure ur belt buckle is crazy big if u plan on carrying up front.
Blade HQ is dropping a mini in a few days. I’m looking at getting my first EDC scout carry.
