- I am a gastric bypass post-op patient who also happens to be a primary health care provider. After many years talking to and treating patients on their own weight loss surgery journeys, I decided to have surgery myself. On my channel I discuss my own challenges, successes and updates regarding the process.
Amazing results ! Love your channel
Those scars are almost invisible. Great work on the surgeon and you taking care of yourself.
Thank you- I think they did a great job and I am sure he will with my upcoming one as well,
Thank you so much for making these videos. I deeply appreciate your candid and encouraging manner. You are a blessing ❤
I’m having my RnY in a month and you’ve helped immensely xxx
Aww, thank you so much!! I am glad that they are helping you. Good luck with your surgery and your healthier future!!
Great video, and very comprehensive! My 2-year gastric bypass surgiversary is the week after yours, and I’m scheduled for an extended abdominalplasty (fleur de lis tummy tuck and panniculectomy) in Jan. 2025. I am so excited, and this video has me even more secure in the fact that this is the right time! You look fantastic!
Thank you and congrats on your upcoming surgery!! I am sure you will do great and be very pleased afterwards!
Surgi twin here! I just scheduled my extended arm lift for 12/04/24! Face lift to follow 3 months later. Wish me luck! You look great!
That is awesome! I am sure that you will be so thrilled with the results!
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 did insurance cover any of your costs?
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 I cannot wait. Wish I had your direct contact to communicate with you. Have lots of questions.
Thank you Kaki! I am 9 months out now and do have the pannus fold and have been following you from the beginning. As an OR RN the tummy tuck is the one procedure I worry about, High complication rates and all. I swam thru my RnY and many other procedures in the past....but thinking I may consult in December with plastics for an opinion.I do appreciate your open honest dialogue on theses subjects. Even as a HC professional you do get this info in the offices. So thank you!
Thank you! I was nervous about the tummy tuck- so many horror stories and so many people mentioned the pain afterwards. I can honestly say I was shocked at how different the reality was (for me) than my fears. I am glad that I did it!
You look fabulous sister! Thank you for explaining these things.
Aww, thank you!
You look amazing!!! Congrats!!!
Thank you!!
Congratulations on your wt loss. You look great. Im two weeks pre op. Im about the same size as your beginning wt. Im really excited.
Thank you- congrats on your surgery!!
Congratulations Kaki! On Thursday of last week I had Loop Duodenal Switch aka SADI-S/Sips and so far so good. But I already know I want to have a breast reduction/lift and tummy tuck.
Congrats on your surgery! Glad that you are doing well.
You look great!!
Thank you 🙂
Looking good! So glad you are happy with your results. I think you are so brave to have all this done. I’m going for consultation with a plastic surgeon about a breast lift. Didn’t realize it could be done without implants. Would you share a few resources I can check out for more info? My appointment is 9/18. I’m nervous but I was nervous about having GB almost 2 years ago. 😉
My favorite resource is Dr. Jason Martin's channel-he is a plastic surgeon and has great videos about almost every procedure that you could think of! www.youtube.com/@JasonMartinMD
I was nervous too, but the recovery was so much easier than I anticipated- I hope that yours is the same.
Thank you for sharing your journey! I'm 4.5 months post RNY and am amazed by my results. I'd love to get a lift, tuck, etc but doubt insurance would cover it.
Congrats on your RNY!! Yeah, insurance does not want to pay for anything, do they- but they sure wants us to pay our premiums!
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 I'm grateful my surgery was 100% covered by my insurance. Kaiser.
I’d like to know if insurance covers your freestyle libre? Also, if you’d like to share your plastic surgeon info (local to you) 🧡
Insurance does not cover the Libre with my diagnosis, but they have a cash pay program for $70/month. Not cheap, but I find most of my patients get the info that they need about what to avoid, when episodes happen, after 2-3 mos and no longer need to wear one. I used Dr. Nicolas Tarola in Murfreesboro- highly recommend!!
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 thanks Kaki!
