I’ve been decluttering too. Shoes, coats, boots, clothes, jewelry, etc etc-for a year. I’ve been averaging 1 large garbage bag a week. I only kept what I actually use -and it’s been very freeing. Life changes along with lifestyle motivated me to just let the past go. Especially those jeans that “I’ll get back into someday” 😂 Great video👍

Hey Veronica! I need to visit this side of your enterprise more often. I downsized my wardrobe and shoes shortly after my job approved full remote work. I feel like I blessed others who still have to go into the office. I don’t know if they have any in your area but I found a non profit that provides outfits to women re-entering or newly entering the job market. That made me really feel good and helped me detach from my memories.

I am decluttering as well. I have been for 3 years. I thought I had a lot of shoes and clothes, but, wholly Toledo, you have me beat. You might try the same method as with hangers to turn them backwards to see what you haven't worn in a year. There is no way you actually wear all of those shoes. Maybe put yourself on a no buy for 3-6 months. I have been decluttering each season when I switch Spring/Summer to Fall/Winter and it works. I turn my hangers backwards and back forwards when I wear an item. At the end of the season, I force myself to put on the items that I haven't worn and ask myself several questions. Does it look good on me? Does it fit? Is it still my style? If I still love it, do I have items to wear with it? If I no longer love the item, I let it go by giving it to a friend, selling or donating it. The few items that I love that I hope to fit again one day, I put in a "Hopes and Dreams" basket. I don't allow myself more than that basket of items. I go through those each year as well. 30 pairs of shoes in one declutter is great. Perhaps you will be motivated to eliminate more each time you do this exercise. Good luck!

I went through shoes declutter last year. Also had a ton of pretty high heeled shoes that I used to wear to the office but since I work from home now, all of them were just standing there, so many had to leave

I love your closet 🥰 I live in a 1900 historical home, while it’s quite charming, there’s literally no closets lol my husband had to put shelves and hanging rods in a teeny tiny closet the previous owner put in . Literally the size of 2 phone booths put together 😂
@@essentialveronica 😂right! Luckily, my husband is a contractor and he’s going to add on to the house. This is actually a pretty good size house considering that most from this era have tiny rooms. The rooms are a decent size , just no closet but I do have a storage room upstairs right off the attic but it’s full of my husbands junk lol despite me having a perfume collection, my husband is the one who holds on to everything 🤣😂
Oh wow! You have super high heels. I can barely stand kitten heels. Then again, I'm overweight and 5''8. Heels were never my friend and make me tower over people. Over the past few years, my feet have been getting harder and harder to dress up. Nothing feels comfortable. Just got rid of 5-6 pairs this past month (including Vince Camuto and Sam Edelman).
@@essentialveronica I go for sporty so : ecco, Merrell, Vionic, Naturalizer, Clarks. If I want to splurge, Ron White (on sale). Rarely wear heels. They give me huge cramps in my arches. I can wear wedges or a bit of a platform (or very chunky heel.
I'm trying to buy a lot less but much higher end these days. I've invested in shoes that cost 3-4-5 times what I used to buy, but now I have very few pairs of shoes. Same with clothes. I just do better with getting dressed if I have limited choicees....
