Kelly, OMG Darling. You did awesome and even had the volume on and no bleeps. Outstandingly done.
Great job! If I was Matt, I would’ve been a nervous wreck knowing that my Bride was on the side of a busy interstate dealing with this mess! You’re an absolute blessing!
At least she's smart enough to get off the road!
Wow ! Couldn't someone stop & help her out , prayers, sure glad she is safe , drive safe , you worked hard to get back on the road , amazing young lady .
Poor miss. Kelly catches heck it’s always best to have someone travel with you
Matt you are a hard working farmer and a great farmer you and Kelly
praise the LORD you made it you had somme awfully nice company you were up in my neck of the woods one rule of thought when pulling a trailer always have a nice floor jack
Great work Kelly you are the hero. God bless you all at griggs
Hugs and prayers for Kelly, she did a great job.
Good job, Kelly.
Especially along a busy highway
I believe all the expansion joints in the concrete are because of the extreme cold they have in the winter (I could be wrong about that)
A you’re a wonderful lady Kelly you do a man’s job cheers from Bundaberg Australia
Those roads look like concrete the bumps are were the forms meet. I-10 once was like that most of the way thru fla miss and Louisiana . It was awful in a semi
I remember as a kid, it seemed like the majority of interstates were concrete and you constantly felt those expansion joints
A little less drama would be okay. Your are still safe, no wrecks, I think you'll make it. No one ever claimed farming, equipment, ect. was easy.
They weren’t uneventful but at least your travels were safe
Good job Kelly!!!
Great video Matt, Kelly. The trip for the crib thingamagigy certainly reminds me of some of my trips in the days gone by. Will confess that some of them I now remember with fondness, which goes to show you that age will dull some of the bad memories.
😂. I’m beginning to approach the age you describe because I’m coming down with the same symptoms
And I love your videos keep up the great work 👍
Kelly is a badass!
You did great Kelly! Don’t let the top comment get to you. I know my wife would have had some things to say as well😂 you got it done, and that’s what matters!
The fun of road trips, am I right! Stuff happens everyday! Atleast nothing too bad happened.
Every time you go on long road trips with a trailer you should know to check the trailer before leaving your driveway
Pretty disgusted somebody didn't circle back to help her. Guess that's just the times we're in. Great job handling a big situation Kelly!!!
@@KellyGriggsFarms that's understandable. I noticed several big trucks passed in that right hand lane. They off all should've known better.
Btw mother's day is coming up soon!! Might oughta make sure that don't slip up on someone. Jus' sayin'😁
Shame on Advance Auto Parts store! I worked part time in one in Michigan we put on wiper blades and batteries on almost all cars! Kelly is Awesome to handle all that stress!
Lost the horizontal pin once. I was baffled because it pulled 100’s of times before. Cover crop is a great practice but dollars to donuts where is the point of cost vs gain.
Wondering how the pin just "broke out"
last yr up here in wisc we had a lot of cover crops planted and every one no-tilled corn and i no-tilled some beans in crimped cover crops then the drought from hell hit only 4 inches of rain all growing season it turned out to be the worst yields since 1988 drought this spring there hardly no cover crops seen at all, rain makes grain.
Cover crops take years to build soil. It’s a slow process. They’re not a magical solution to fix every problem in the field even though many people make it seem that they are. Hopefully we don’t give that impression. They require proper management to work and everyone’s results may differ.
Bottom line, regardless your practice, if there’s no water in the soil, it really doesn’t matter what your practice is
Matt bring the pickup and trailer in the shop and do some preventative maintenance.
What preventive maintenance??? I checked air pressure, greased wheel bearings, lights, etc. sometimes freak things happen.
No matter what you do it just goes with farming you can do all the maintenance all winter long in shop your still going to have breakdowns when you get in the field
North Dakota has thay too with the interstate... Poor road construction is all that can be said since its so rythmic
Kelly, I am really disapointed that no one stopped to help you.
Even had 2 state troopers pass me up.
All them people not moving over could use a cussing
dang wish i was near and 1 yall had my number i would have gladly tried to help some way even if i had to drive a bit do not mind helping a farmer i worked a farm for near 23 years and know it can be hard some times for sure i had a hitch pin break and left a auger cart about the size of yours in the middle of the road
With all that traffic and no one stop and give you a hand?
Hey! We made it just fine… 😅
@chroniclesofkayla No it’s “Hay we made it just fine!” 😂
@@griggsfarmsllc bahaha YESSSS …
They could have gotten over for you
For such tasks, you would need the F550 or F600 flatbed with the longest wheelbase. It's a shame to drag the trailer so far to load such a medium-sized box.
I’m not buying a $80K truck when a $2500 trailer will do just fine
@@griggsfarmsllc Not new. Used ones are even several times cheaper. A friend bought it for less than $20k. even though it has 3 trailers. He says he saves 2-3 days a month on small to medium loads (he drives at 70+ mph) and will pay for himself in fuel next year. Many people do this - they buy 1 long flatbed in a small or medium chassis for a farm/company - f600 have almost 9 thousand. lbs of payload. it depends on whether you look more at savings or productivity, and whether such loads happen often, because if it's a one-off, there's no point in buying it.
Kelly I know you said you were only a hour and a half from home when it happened but did you stop anywhere maybe a convince store for something to drink or snacks if you did it is possible some a**hole messed with the pin either trying too steal it and you came out before they could finish or just like there are people who will pull the fifth wheel release on other drivers trying too make them look bad so if you stop anywhere even for a short time check the hitch and any pins I would also recommend you buy a pin for the hitch that requires a key to get it off
That’s very good advice. Thank you
Michigan road suck also!!!
Nobody got over or stopped to help you out .bs
Wow! Comments are interesting to say the least 😢
Eh. It’s only a couple of idiots. It happens from time to time
Frost
I hope your bad luck is gone
It shouldn’t be that hard especially if you would have checked over the trailer and truck to make sure that everything was good but I’m pretty sure that you didn’t do that so it’s pretty much your fault for that situation to happen
It’s was checked over well. I was there. You weren’t. Now go find another channel to be a keyboard warrior on.
Maybe you should have just made matt do that trip instead of you
Maybe Matt had other things that had to be done at the farm. Maybe Matt had faith that Kelly could handle situations that may arise…which she did…
Dodge fuel sucks. Matt when dodge takes you on another truck you should never buy a short bed to tow with long beds are recommended but they don't tell you that when you buy them
I’m very satisfied with the trucks I bought.
