I have a little understanding of how this all works and am impressed, but then I wonder what the reaction of people, say in the time of the first queen Elizabeth, would have been had they been exposed to something like this.

I just google and this is what I got: "The typical flight time for most high-quality drones is about 20 minutes. Lower quality drones have battery life ranging from 5 to 10 minutes while mid-range drones have flight time between 15 to 20 minutes. Professional drones have flight time between 20 to 30 minutes."
I have a personal drone, DJI, cost $499, one battery lasts about 20" (they said last about 30", but when flying around 20" have to return home). The ones in a drone show will consume more energy as they need to run program inside with lights on and off.
The drone show is from China, Shenzhen and China is dominating the drone market. So you want to have a an amazing drone show, just to have a phone call to China.
I never watched from Milson Point so don't know how good the view is. I recommend somewhere near the oversea terminal (toward the train station) or opposite at Opera House. Cahill Express may be good to have an overview look (same look as the official website), but personally I think too far. I prefer close up and underneath it because it will be mesmerising, big WOW 😲 moments.
Also recommend to queue up early, I went there at 8.30pm to get "front row", about 15" later so many people behind me. Maybe it was crowded on 1st day & on Sunday.
This is just a test run of the tech to be used for the fake alien invasion whilst reminding everyone that we are not the only planet in the universe lol
No drones were harmed in making this video. I really do wonder how many drones was lost. Beautiful but they need the killer drones much faster they say.
Drones show can be much more creative than fireworks and more environmental friendly. I feel we should stop doing fireworks altogether. Fireworks should be made illegal in this day and age.

I was there on Sunday night and sadly it was near impossible to see. The crowd control was shocking
oh sorry to hear. It was very crowded on the day we went too, the lady behind me kept saying she's worried if all people started to push her forward.
