I'd like to recommend this video to Alec Baldwin
Stupidity kills another.
Good Educational Video My Man🙏🏾👍🏾
Too many video games
This had nothing to do with video games though. People will always find ways to do stupid things.
If only we could fix stupid
Very well said! Great video.
Our local news station would blurt out a Public announcement. It went like this…”It’s 10 pm do you know where your children are??” Parents will end up blaming someone else or something…
Great analogy, Joel! Simple to understand perspective for those who have not been "parented."
Thank you Sir for this information. You are right. 🇺🇸😎👍🙏
That police report seemed to show that those kids have only known about guns from movies, so they thought that body armor made people invincible... I'm a gun person, but my friend barely knows anything about guns. He once brought up the topic of body armor. I forgot what he said exactly, but he was basically thinking that body armor makes people bulletproof. I had to correct him. He was in his late-20s at the time, so at least he didn't try to shoot me.
Sir, besides sharing the same first name, we share the way we taught our kids about guns. I taught my daughter that 1) daddy’s guns are always loaded; & 2) here’s what happens when they are shot and we shot a soup can. She could see the guns whenever she wanted too. As I carried 100% of the time, because of what I did, when she was younger she asked to see them a few times and then the novelty wore off when I taught her to shoot too. If you do it that way, and explain that movies aren’t real - it works. Great video! Semper Fi!
It’s sad that this incident happened. I do agree that this was stupid for those boys to do. Unfortunately common sense isn’t so common in today’s time.
Preach it, Joel!
When my kids were young, took them out and shot a water jug to show them what would happen, told them same thing would happen to them.
Cdid they think they are Russian Spetsnaz or something
That can help… but kids also just don’t fully think through consequences. Body armor stops bullets (as they see demo video tests on youtube, and the original creator tested on self) and so they make the assumption… not factoring worst case scenario if something DID fail or go wrong. These are teachable moments.
Example: Out pheasant shooting in high school, friends know all about guns and gun safety… wearing steel toed boots and suggests testing it out with a BB-gun. X-ray shows BB in big toe later. 🤦♂️ Not life threatening, but kids will test limits, take risks and fail often… what is the WORST possible risk situation in EVERY scenario or moment in life?
Excellent presentation, Joel! I did the same thing with my kids. Showed them the guns, took them to the range. My daughter was not that much interested, but my son listened and learned, and is a responsible gun owner. Great advice!!! Thank you...
Better example might be testing a constitution hat with a hammer
