well to be fair, if a bird's leg was broken, they would stand on one leg. I've had one that broke its leg. but usually if it's broken, they will dangle the leg off to the side and it will be obvious they're struggling if they move around. But with perching, they usually tuck their other foot up into their feathers so you can't see it.

I always thought I took good care of my budgie. He was healthy and got old. Until a few months ago when I saw footage of wild budgies. Flying for hours tirelessly in big flocks. It's not cruel. My parakeet is very happy and he is the only one I have. He gets new toys every couple weeks, new treats, he flies out and plays with my mirror and my echo dot, and is always showing me how happy he is. Parakeets deserve a nice home and not left to die (or be ate). They also live longer lives than what they do in the wild.
Zebratje Like the person said above, it’s not cruel. Budgies, like cats and dogs are actually domestic pets meaning that they’ll be a lot more comfortable and live longer if they’re around an atmosphere or environment that isn’t out in the wild. Parakeets/budgies aren’t like certain wild animals such as Sparrows, Eagles, and etc. they’re considered pets whom us humans should heavily take care of and treat them with the best care. 😊
You know, the budgies we got from petsores, refuges, or where else... They're nothing like wild parakeets. They're born captive, like their parents and grand parents. One thing you could've done is tam youtr budgy, being his life partner. Of course any social creature will love their own kind. But when they are alone with us, they will want to be with us. I got two budgies and they're free in my apartment for hours. Yeah they got two mirrors, they got each other, toys and a big tree branch. But they don't fly for hours, they don't want to and don't need to as long as they can be free pretty much all day, everyday, they're living at their best. Always getting attention when I'm there, music when I'm gone to work. They're happy. They play, they sing, they fly around. They know when they sleep and when they wake up. They have company of my two cats and yes they are free with them and nothing ever happen, my cats never kept me from letting my budgies free (because I'm there and always watching). My first budgy lived up to ten years old (he was eleven) and my dad was his life's partner. They were always together. That bird never got blred out of his mind. Now my dad has a budgy, 10 years old too and he's been free 24h/7 for 7 years now. He has a nice set up of tree branches, fake plants and toys, his cage too but only for nap time or eat. He has a nice life too. :)
@@grace1117 of course if you take them outside... They will fly away, they want to fly, not for hours none stop, but they want and need to fly sometimes... But if you're taking them out, they will fly like they know how to come back, but they dont know what wind is and they could really lose their balance. If they're lucky, they will land in a tree, but sometimes they fly till they are tired and fall or till a predator gets them.

Maybe it means your simply breathtaking and/or your gettin your budgie all hot n bothered n need to turn on the central air! It could be good or bad. Just go with the flow. If you open its cage will it hop out and play with you? Im a first time owner and actually our budgie is a rescue. I almost ran him over downtown with our car. But when i noticed the odd shape that i couldnt tell was trash or a bird i had to hit the brakes and back up just following my gut instinct. Low and behold this budgie is super cold from being outside here in visalia ca over who knows how many days. I told my fiancé that im pretty sure theres a bird in the road. Seeing as how the both of us save any animals we find in bad scenarios like dodging traffic, i am just glad I noticed him or else i might of actually ran him over. If anyone in tulare county happens to be the owner and accidently lost him I understand. Call me: 559-280-1615 Otherwise this ninjas my new best friend!!! Anyone who knows about helping a distressed parakeet feel safe and help to get psychologically better please do tell this poor little guy needs the best after his trauma.
My budgie died 2 days ago... Im sorry Bubu because i didn t apply the treatment on time and you had to suffer. You died in my mother arms and now im depressed because i found out that i only have fake friends and i used to stay with you when i was sad. Now when im in the living-room your cage is empty. Now you don t wake me up at 6 am in the morning. You dont come to kiss my lips and my nose anymore. You dont come to me in the palm to eat. Before bed you were the last one i went to say "good night" to. 10 days ago you were sad and you always slept you didnt pay attention to me. When my mother saw you sleeping on the floor she didnt want to tell me that your gonna die. You only stayed 6 moths. Lol my friends always ask if my budgies are a couple, and I just stare at them and go like “nope, they’re siblings...” That’s somehow worse. They just bicker...
My budgie literally chewed a giant hole in a cardboard box, she mah chew chew gurl Also she's literally wrecking everything chewable including my math textbook what do I doooo
You can't really do anything, parrots like to chew, that's something that gives them stimulation. All parrots chew on stuff, it's just natural for them.
Maple_ Amber25 I’ve had 2 budgies die birdie birdie and Boris i was crying so hard it was so sad I feel you but I got 2 new budgies cloudy and sunny so there still going good hope you get a new budgie
@@ashleycolville1752 I was planning on getting two budgies this year so I started doing research and watching bird RUclips videos again :) I got them last month I believe and have been trying to tame them since
Flipping wings can also be for exercices or because they are excited by something like when you make the bell ring, it's exciting him because he knows it's a toy. Budgies love the sounds of the bell (most of them). Or when they are flipping wings a little and they're closing their eyes a bit , it's a really good sign they truly love you.
You can help the bird and not get more babies by switching out a new egg w a whole bunch of fake little eggs the same size. It keeps her from laying too many and she won't be physically drained by all the effort.
@@Bella-xk3gr you're welcome. I had a cockatiel that would lay a lot of eggs, and we would put as many as she'd normally lay so she'd slow down. After the fake eggs were there she might lay one or two, but not 8 like she did. She would take care of them and guard them. Then she'd lose interest so we would remove them until next clutch of eggs started. We found a website that sold the right size eggs for different birds. You might try it in case your Grandpa's bird starts again. Best wishes!!
My budgies grind there beak and yes ofc they do yawn mostly near there normal bed time and they play around by chasing each other, chirping into the mirror(s) and ringing the bell(s) walking around they’re big room (they have a huge room basically the living room which in my house is very big especially for them and there size and they love to go into the window and look outside, my blue parakeet can’t fly but my green one can so often if he wants to play with him I bring him onto my finger and bring it to him, my blue bird is more tame then my green bird but I am working on making him feel more safe around me and to tame him :D 😃
I should of watched this video sooner when I got my two parakeets 😅 I'm so relieved about what the beak grinding meant. When my birdie did that I thought there was something wrong with her beak. Very helpful video.❤😊
@Zel put the left feeder on the same side of the right one or if they are in a different color, maybe buy 2more feeder of the same 2colors you already have. I have 4 bowls of food in my the bottom of my cage, 2 to each extremities, they're the same color. They never fight. They're pretty much like two siblings who want the same thing without sharing. Some colors and shape can be more interesting to one budgy at the point the other one will show interest too. But the first one won't want to share. 😅
So I have 2 budgie and idk if ones a girl or boy and every time I go up to look at my budgie it will always get scared plus I just got it yesterday but I go up to it so it recognizes me so I need some tips
My cockatiel also have these types of behaviours too. She calls me on a special tone and bites me and sleep on my hands. I'm thinking it's for just fun
Some times my budgies will flap there wings for no reason. They are very happy in their cage I don't know if there just annoying each other or if it's something in their cage

Seeing as how the both of us save any animals we find in bad scenarios like dodging traffic, i am just glad I noticed him or else i might of actually ran him over. If anyone in tulare county happens to be the owner and accidently lost him I understand. Call me: 559-280-1615
Otherwise this ninjas my new best friend!!!
Anyone who knows about helping a distressed parakeet feel safe and help to get psychologically better please do tell this poor little guy needs the best after his trauma.
He is probably scared or nervous
They tend to hyperventilate when you're near. You gave 'em a fright.
Thank you this cleared up most things and made me feel relieved.
Whenever my birds flap their wings I always think it's just because they want to come out and fly
Biting is also a sign of defensiveness because they are scared and trying to protect themselves rather than aggression .
Im sorry Bubu for my incompetence but now you are in a better place *Bubu prostovan* (that is hiw i used to call him when he yelled at me Bubu prostovan means Stupid Bubu but is caressed)

@ALEXANDRA GEORGIANA FARCAS you should call him Georgică
Wow, I got my budgie a couple days ago and his body language says he's already pretty comfy! I'm glad he's doing okay
my budgie love to yawing
They live in Australia! So they are one of a kind with temperatures!
My budgie sneezed and it spit onto me. But just a little bit.
It is ok 😆
I got aviation flu 😐
That was the cutest yawn ever
Lol my friends always ask if my budgies are a couple, and I just stare at them and go like “nope, they’re siblings...”
That’s somehow worse. They just bicker...
My budgie is doing courtship with my finger and I thought he was just being friendly 😭

My typical male budgie
Also, my female budgie started to rip off the newspaper at the bottom of their cage soooo yeeeeeaaaaah
I love the beak grinding sound.
Hi! I bought 2 budgies yesterday, and they love to kiss each other! But they are scared of me though😅
Thank your for these videos 😍
My budgie literally chewed a giant hole in a cardboard box, she mah chew chew gurl
Also she's literally wrecking everything chewable including my math textbook what do I doooo
Run
You can't really do anything, parrots like to chew, that's something that gives them stimulation. All parrots chew on stuff, it's just natural for them.
glad i saw this. this whole time i thought the male budgie was biting my female budgie but he was just feeding her;-;
3:25 is actually my birb
3:55 is my bird at 3am
Lol
My birds too
This was actually so helpful! Thank you so much, im a new bird owner and I needed to see what it meant when my birds did something

2:03 ok thats a good sign , because my budgie ALWAYS do that next to me
Why do u have lesz than 1 k subs? This content is worth at least 2 mil :D
Thanks. My budgie was doing that tail bobbing and thought she's just tired, she's fine now but I'll bring her to a vet next time she does it again
It kind of hurts having these types of videos pop up on my home page since my parakeet died
Maple_ Amber25 I’ve had 2 budgies die birdie birdie and Boris i was crying so hard it was so sad I feel you but I got 2 new budgies cloudy and sunny so there still going good hope you get a new budgie
I wish you all the best with new bird. I hope u will get it one day ♡
Did u unsubscribe from any bird channels?
@@ashleycolville1752 I was planning on getting two budgies this year so I started doing research and watching bird RUclips videos again :) I got them last month I believe and have been trying to tame them since
Flipping wings can also be for exercices or because they are excited by something like when you make the bell ring, it's exciting him because he knows it's a toy. Budgies love the sounds of the bell (most of them). Or when they are flipping wings a little and they're closing their eyes a bit , it's a really good sign they truly love you.
My Girl feeds my boy lol and dances infront of him.
CaptureFreakz correction: my boy feeds my girl lol and dances infront of her.
Thanks for teaching me how to train my Minecraft bird 🐦
One of my grandpas birds got babies 8 times! And she didn’t stop, now she’s very tired...
Poor birdie
Denny the Budgie ye😓
You can help the bird and not get more babies by switching out a new egg w a whole bunch of fake little eggs the same size. It keeps her from laying too many and she won't be physically drained by all the effort.
Carmen Spievak ok thx, she already stopped but thx
3:23 how do you ignore it?? It really hurts. I have 2 budgies ones very kind the others is a DEVIL
Mia ._.equinexox well I don’t really know how you ignore it it hurts!! But if ignore it it’s better because you don’t scare you bird
@@thenickizrobloxchannel3159 Yours may have a longer beak. I heard they can't break skin. Parrots are different story.
I should of watched this video sooner when I got my two parakeets 😅 I'm so relieved about what the beak grinding meant. When my birdie did that I thought there was something wrong with her beak. Very helpful video.❤😊
Thank you! 🙃
My birds fight all the time, even when they are eating 😂
Add more feeders
@@dennythebudgie Yea, one of them feeds off from my hand/separate dish once in awhile to avoid fighting lmao
This will help you, I hope: ruclips.net/video/pzP9O3Ul7OM/видео.html
My cockatiel also have these types of behaviours too. She calls me on a special tone and bites me and sleep on my hands. I'm thinking it's for just fun
Some times my budgies will flap there wings for no reason. They are very happy in their cage I don't know if there just annoying each other or if it's something in their cage
@Be An ok thanks I let there cage doors open when I'm around so they can fly
