- Losing the DM on purpose so I can actually fight Luxord for real. All pro codes are on besides items because you have to get hit at least once for this. Also need the accessories with second chance/withstand combo to do it on level 1

At this point, the Time Gauge is just a glorified life bar. It would've been cooler if they removed Sora's life meter during the fight, and make his gauge deplete much faster to make it less one-sided on both ends!

Losing the DM is cooler than winning it because of the animation and music that follows "Victory is mine, Sora". You don't even get an animation for winning :(

As the other replies point out, it's a bit of a missed opportunity to have Sora not do that cool animation where he throws Luxord's cards back at him in KH2.
Apparently it’s quicker to lose the DM as well, so why not look at cool animation

@@yugihlh No. I think it's triple rush. It's described as closing in on the enemy while attacking. Airstep is shotlock button then square button.
that how you outsmart a gambler , by refusing to play by his rule : the more you play , the more time it cosume , so by chosing to lose , the game end quickly . You lose a battle but you won the war
I gotta give this fight a second go with these openings in mind--had no idea he was vulnerable for so many of his melee attacks!

I always hated Luxord's DM.
I could finish his DM properly (2FM), but it just felt like a chore. So I practiced skipping it with Arcanum (not LV1).
Finishing his fight with double/triple Arcanum was more fun to me than with the dumb card game.
Kind of sad that you have to purposefully lose the DM in order to both make this fight go by faster and to fight him legitimately.
Is it though? I mean it’s Luxord. It’s kind of expected for him to be a gimmicky fight. I think it’s reasonable?
@@autumn2ashes211 True, I guess I think back on how in KH2 it felt like he had a better balance between the gimmick and the fight itself.

WillJV2 I mean I don’t really enjoy the DM either. I’ve been skipping it the same way you do in the video usually. I just don’t see why anybody is surprised that Luxord has a long, tedious gimmick DM.

Tbh Luxord might be my favorite fight minus Xion and Yozora just love the way they did his gimmick this time. Also whats your ability layout? Im kinda having a hard time deciding what abilities to drop due to the pro code limitation.

Yeah, that's why the game recommends you block as many cards as you can before he does that. Less cards on the ground, the easier it is to track Luxord's card

iirc in KH2FM it was possible to wait out Luxord's DM and let him run out of time, if you had a large enough lead in time, and now I'm curious if it's possible to win his KH3 data-fight by intentionally losing the DM, knocking his time gauge down to the point where a few more hits will kill him, and then blocking and dodging his attacks until he runs out of time. can you test if that works? idk how likely he is to use his DM again or how fast his time runs out, so idk if it could work in the first place, but I'd like to see it anyway
I tried that once, Luxord doesnt run out of time in this game, he gradually recovers time (or atleast does if he is low, dont know if he is always regenerating) so you cant kill him by just waiting

An alternative to items would be the forest pin as it has HP walker. Combine that with Second Chance and Withstand Combo accessories, you’d still win, even if you fail the DM.

Wow. I haven't played the DLC yet, but I might actually do this when I try this fight just so I don't have to deal with that boring shit.

You can track the right card. It's just harder to do when there's a lot of cards on the floor from not blocking his attacks (and when cards go offscreen).

Luxord tends to separate himself from the other cards.
That shuffle in particular was pretty easy to keep track of
@@kurimiaisukurimu yeah, but I wasn't thinking about that particular instance, just the move in general being dealt with like that in such confidence. Could you do this the majority of the time?
@@lonewolf6232 You can keep track of Luxord when he shuffles the cards. (Holding R1 slows down time to make this easier) If you lose him, you can still find him by hitting all the cards with O's on them.

I geniunly think the DM wouldn't be a problem if you could do 1 full combo at each phase, so the last one wouldn't have double RV but it still would be more since you did 3 full combos, what do you think?
I lowkey wanted Sora to need to restart the data fight when you lose at Luxord’s DM game just for a little extra frustration especially since Luxord was so easy during The Keyblade Graveyard, but I think that’s just me.

If you wanted to try this strategy with max pro codes on, you could use an HP Walker accessory instead of potions.

Can I just say, his DM gives me horrible motion sickness. I don't know if it's the motion blur or whatever, but Luxord's DM makes me feel sick

Idea. Try and just survive. The timer goes down right? Then just hit him once and then tough it out.

I've never lost the DM challenge but the fight always lasted a long time after that, and he has new moves too. You're not supposed to finish the fight with the DM, you're just too good at the game so he has less time gauge left than intended.

I beat this man on critical and never knew you could just double jump and attack him.

How does this fight as a whole compare to KH2
This fight was wayyyyyyy easier than his fight in kh2fm. In that game you were forced to get the timing perfectly of his final attack in order to finish him
I have not played KH3 yet becuse I dont have a PS4 but getting the timing right in the KH2 Data Luxord fight is pretty easy. Fore the last comand slot where the rotation is the fastest I just need to press the buton when I see the X. By the the time I executet the buttonpress it has alrady changed to an O.
This boss took me two and a half hours to beat
You'd be surprised how much easier this fight Is if you just bail on the final part of the Final game.
Like if you screw up at the last second like I did and with half health, you can actually still beat him. In fact, I'd recommend it, the rest of the fight is much easier and fun if you do

Alfred Hinton The symbols on the cards represent the elemental magic you can use to destroy them, but it’s honestly a lot easier just to dodge roll them.
paris dodgeing those is a pain. Luxord is the most frustrating even on beginner
@@alfredhinton8792 Interesting, I thought Luxord was the easiest to defeat out of the entire data organization lineup. He only has a small range of offensive attacks which most can easily be guarded. His card games are even easier as long as you know what you're doing.
