They are both cut from same cloth dude. Both are slow, not particularly athletic, have unconventional shots, can’t jump, not very quick…. But are the best players in their eras. If anything Jokic’s success in today’s NBA should open some eyes as to just how dominant Bird would be in today’s game. All the criticism you might heap on Bird about not being able to play in today’s game is totally negated when you watch the best player (Jokic) play dominant basketball in the NBA today.
Keep in mind tha Bird is only an inch or so shorter than Joker

Any of the great players in today's game are the ones Larry wants to play against. It was true back in his day. He wanted to play against Jordan, Magic, and all those greats. He didn't want to be on the same team with them.

Bird would love to play AGAINST Jokic not with Jokic. If he played with Jokic the fans would quickly see how not too far off in size Bird is to Jokic, how Bird always seems to hustle a lot more especially on defense and how a lot of the faults for their slow ass starting lineup defensively is on Jokic being in the right places but not even trying to contest a lot. And with how Bird is shooting insanely well better than Jokic but they still might lose even with Bird diving on the floor and breaking his shit. As a competitor and a watcher Bird acknowledges Jokic being a top center of all time and would love to play against him but also doesnt want to hurt Jokic's legacy playing next to him. There's a top 5 center all time Jokic, then there's the greatest small forward of all time Bird.

He'll stay healthy. Larry got back problems because he was constantly hustling for loose balls with disregard for his body. It won't be the same for Jokic.
Bird got back problems from helping his family at there ranch and shoveling snow off of his parents driveways while in the NBA.
Thought Larry's back problem originated when "he hand-built/put in" a new driveway at his mom's house? But, either way, Larry Legend was such a crazy physical (lunging, diving, falling, twisting etc.) player, he was bound to end up with injuries. Physio, medical, nutrition etc was not then what it is now, today's athletes are so well supported by the advancements in science, they are bound to have greater longevity.

Jokic is working very hard though and it might look like he's not hustling but he is. Jokic's issues are deep, it's systemic fatigue coz you can only carry for so long so he's not out of the woods yet since Larry wouldn't have mentioned his Health without reason coz Jokic is hustling. Jokic is a big dude and that comes with alot of problems and fact that he's so mechanically perfect with his executions even if he made it look it easy but ITS NOT since making it look easy is very hard in the first place coz it means you did something perfect. Larry Bird made it look easy, his hustles are gnarly but the rest of his game he made it look easy but nope it really took a toll on his body and it's the same with Jokic so what i want is Jokic to have someone he can really rely on so Denver can really take care of him without him feeling forced to do miracles day in day out..

Would Bird or Magic been so great if they weren’t surrounded by HOF talent ? Joker actually has ZERO allstar and HOF teammates and yet is by far the best player in the league .
Well, lets ask a simple question.
What is it you ask? BIRD won every game except for the last one against Michigan State with a bunch of scrubs.
Secondly, BIRD took a last night place team to first place his Rookie Year, while winning ROY & coming in 4th place in the MVP balloting his Rockie year. It took a stacked 08 Celtics team the 07/08 season where they best that record by 1 game. No modern player has done this - not even close! BIRD is the best @ making others great along with Magic.
