    You nailed it on the new size length. I have the 169 cm ( I am 5’ 5” 140 lbs) but have wished it was a little longer. I ski Volkl in 173 cm and Blizzard in 172 cm and feel that is a good length for me in this style of ski. I will definitely take advantage of the ski shop employee purchase next season. Also the looking forward to the new Griffin ⛷⛷🙏🙏

    Just bought 2020 100s in the 177 length. Widest ski I’ve ever been on. They cruise through anything and still rip groomers. Love these. Still hanging on to my amphibio 88xti’s tho. For those super carvy/icy days maybe.

    great review once again !...how does it compare to the Bent Chetlers? ....just skied them last week at Keystone and they were great ...super stable at speed , surprisingly nimble in the trees and moguls for 100mm....just curious on your take between the 2 ...thanks!

      The Bent Chetler 100 is much more playful. The Enforcer 100 is heavier and stiffer with its two sheets of metal. It's not as nimble as the BC 100, but absolutely rips!

    Thanks for the great review guys. How does the Nordica Enforcer 100 compare to the Salomon QST 99?
    For context, I am a 5'7" 165 lbs expert skier. I had Fischer Ranger 98 for the last few seasons but destroyed unfortunately. Looking at Enforcer 100 and QST 99.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  3 года назад

      The Enforcer feels more powerful overall. More stability at speed, more vibration damping. The QST is more playful. Easier edge release in soft snow, a little quicker when you're maneuvering through trees and stuff like that, but not as much edge grip or as much power on firm snow.

    Great review. I’ve been on bonafides and brahmas (187cm) for 8 years. Love them. Rail crazy lines and can throw GS carves all day. Always road aggressive. That said I’m getting old, 55, 190lbs, east coast and the Rockies. I’m looking to back off a bit but I don’t want a rocking chair. My bonafides are a bit of work now for me on short turns. Trying to ignore my ego and still have performance with a tad more casual. Any advice would be awesome.👍

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  4 года назад +1

      Hi! I think you'd really like this new Enforcer. It's definitely more forgiving than your Bonafides, but still rips when you can to just rail high speed turns. That said, you should wait to see the new Bonafide too before you make a decision. Blizzard did a similar thing with the Bonafide, made it a little more forgiving and approachable, but it still rips. We're planning to have a review of it up in the coming weeks.

    • @SattvaWoodworks
      @SattvaWoodworks 4 года назад +1

      Skiessentials.com thanks a bunch for the input. If you don’t mind another question I thought the Bones were going even more carve oriented in 1021 not more playful. Am I wrong in that? I do love all of Blizzards stuff.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  4 года назад +1

      @@SattvaWoodworks Not really. Changes to the Bonafide for 2021 are designed to retain its carving performance, but also make them a little bit more forgiving. We'll have a full review of the Bonafide up pretty soon. It still rips, it basically just releases its edge more willingly.

    I had a blast testing the 2020 100, 104, 110 over a week ago and they all like to go fast, was blown away with their versatility and how light they felt skiing vs hanging on a chairlift.... but to me there is a night and day noticeable difference between the 100 and 104 free. The 104 free suits my lazy smeary ski style.... but now the 100 sounds more forgiving. Is the tail easier to release and smear a turn now? Also, will Nordica be updating the 110 free with the same changes found in the 100 and 104?

    • @letterzx
      @letterzx 4 года назад +2

      It'll probably be in between the current 100 and 104 as far as tail release goes.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  4 года назад +2

      The tail is easier to release and smear on the new 100 compared to the old 100, yes, but it's more similar to the 100 than to the 104. Does that make sense? Felt confusing as I was typing it. Overall, the new 100 is just a little less demanding, but still has the same power and vibration damping as before. The 104 makes those long drifting/smearing/slarving turns better still. As far as I know, and as far as I've been told, the 110 and 115 stay the same.

I also felt that my poacher is too short so im looking into a longoer stiffer ski for Freeriding pow but also groomers. (ski racing background)

    • @SkiEssentials

      Hello! Enforcer is stiffer in the tail, by a significant amount. Also less tail rocker. Enforcer has better vibration damping too thanks to those 2 sheets of metal. If you don't need a twin tip, and you're looking for a stiffer, more powerful ski, you're going to absolutely love the Enforcer 100. Most skiers with race backgrounds love the Enforcer series. Precise and powerful, but also versatile and fun in soft snow.

      Enforcer 100 is still a ridiculously good ski, our opinions haven't really changed at all. For length, I'm leaning towards 186 mostly based off your weight and the fact that you're out west. Western trees aren't very tight, so you shouldn't have any trouble maneuvering the 186 and it will give you more stability and more float everywhere else.

  • @Draid7

      The new Enforcer 94 (we'll have a review out on it tomorrow) would likely be the best bet. You get good firm snow/hard pack performance, but it'll still be fun in deeper, softer western conditions.

      Enforcer 88 is one of my skis for Blue Mountain. Since you mentioned 1 ski quiver I personally would go with the 88 over the 94 for Ontario. I'm 5'9" 190 and ski the 179 - my female 5'6" partner, ex-racer, skis the 172 and loves it - but I personally find the 179 a bit softer and easier than the 172 - she also easily skis the 179 but we set her up with a lighter binding on the 172 and she prefers that overall package.

    Which length to get? I'm 5'10", 205lbs, expert skier. Looking for a one-ski quiver for out west and definitely want it to be light and quick in bumps/trees? Would 179cm be best? Worried the 172cm would be too short and unstable at speed.

      Hey Adam! Yeah, I would go with the 179 cm length. The 172 might feel a little unstable for your size, or at least would take away some of the confidence of the Enforcer at speed. 179 cm should still be plenty maneuverable, especially considering you're skiing out west!

      No, I don't think you necessarily got them too short. Would some skiers your size go with the 177? Yes, but the 169 cm should be supportive for your size. It's going going to make bumps and tighter terrain much easier than the 177 cm. I'd also add that if you found the (173 or 180 cm?) Bonafide too much work, the 177 Enforcer 100 likely wouldn't be much better for you. More rocker, yes, and slightly softer flexing, but a similar animal. 169 cm should be a lot of fun!

      Pretty different skis to be honest! The Bent Chetler 100 is much lighter, softer flexing, and more playful. It's also a twin tip, so you can take it into the terrain park, ski switch, etc. The Enforcer 100 is far more stable at speed, more powerful, more responsive out of a turn, etc, but it's not as playful as the BC 100 by a long shot. The Enforcer 104 Free would be a closer comparison, although realistically the closest Nordica to the Bent Chetler 100 is the Soul Rider 97.

      @SkiEssentials  3 года назад +1

      Overall, I find the Enforcer 100 and the Mindbender 99 to be very similar skis. They're both stable and relatively powerful, but their shape gives them good versatility too. If anything, I actually think the Enforcer 100 has slightly easier edge release than the Mindbender 99, although that's a really close comparison. So, if you're looking for more maneuverability at slower speeds, MB 99 probably isn't the way to go. Enforcer 104 is an interesting ski to consider. Very similar feel to the 100, but much more tail rocker. Something to think about at least. In general, it sounds like you're going to prefer a ski with a little more rise in the tail to help with the maneuverability/speed dumps.

I've been skiing on a set of 72mm skis in all conditions for the last several years but now that I'm out of college I wanna upgrade my setup. I'm leaning towards a set of e88's, but would it be wiser to go up to e94s to make for a more versatile ski? Width makes a pretty big difference in deep snow, but you're also making sacrifices for firm snow as you go wider and wider.
