But the 80's were also my school years where I was forced by law to ride a yellow thing to a building where I was forced to sit with other kids and listen to boring teachers and do paperwork and take tests and get homework. I graduated HS 1992. I had a few jobs in the 90's like Roy Rogers on the PA turnpike spring 1994-Nov 1995 cooked chicken and biscuits and Cracker Barrel put dishes away Apr 1997-Dec 2000. I got let go from both jobs. I have been unemployed since Dec 2000 and get Social Security and have money in a trust my late mom set up with her late brother in law. My mom passed away June 14, 2022 in the hospital because her lungs were weak and my uncle March 31, 2023 from strokes, he was rushed to the hospital but they couldn't save him. He was managing my brother and I's trust, and my aunt is my payee now for Social Security and my cousin (my aunt has a son and daughter) he is now taking over some things related to my brother and I helping us with stuff. My father passed away to a car hitting him while walking 2 miles from our house on March 8, 1986.

My god it was amazing to watch all my favorite singers in one room working rehearsing together this is truly historical that's why the 80s was the greatest musical time of all for the music the artist for what they sang about the messages and inspirations of hope they gave to us all what they did here they never did it again not in the 90s or after that why I say the 80s was the greatest time for music just look at them in 1 room together and that shows everyone that yes they can work together and get along doing what they did best write sing and perform such an incredible thing of musical beauty to watch it makes me smile everytime I see this rehearsal video and the actual video of this great song 😊

Steve Perry had it on the first take and was like ok, I'm not gonna change it up and save my voice while everyone else was dialing it in.
A lot depended on the line they were given and whether it was a more mellow and understated part early in the song, compared to later on when it built as it got further into it.
Diana Ross and Bruce Springsteen killed it every single take 😮

OMG! Agree with your comment, except Bruce, who sounds like he swallowed glass. His voice NEEDS a LOT of production mixing! He's a fabulous song writer; but, he needs to let The Pointer Sisters ("Slow Hand") and Natalie Cole ("Pink Cadillac") sing them! (He slurs his words so badly that I never appreciated the lyrics of "Pink Cadillac", until I heard someone who ENUNCIATED enough for me to understand them: Natalie Cole!) I just don't get his popularity...AT ALL! NEVER HAVE. And, before you say something like, "But he has sex appeal!"...NO. I DEFINITELY don't get that either! (Jensen Ackles, Tyler Hoechlin, Hugh Jackman... THOSE guys are more my type!) I find him greasy and unkept looking, and totally unappealing. I've heard he's a nice guy, though...so... there's that...

My god it was amazing to watch all my favorite singers in one room working rehearsing together this is truly historical that's why the 80s was the greatest musical time of all for the music the artist for what they sang about the messages and inspirations of hope they gave to us all what they did here they never did it again not in the 90s or after that why I say the 80s was the greatest time for music just look at them in 1 room together and that shows everyone that yes they can work together and get along doing what they did best write sing and perform such an incredible thing of musical beauty to watch it makes me smile everytime I see this rehearsal video and the actual video of this great song 😊

I always felt like Bruce didn't want to be there because he never sings in the chorus but the truth is he was into it and happy to be a part of it
The documentary Netflix just did does into this a bit, the people with the unusual types voices or should i say the non choir friendly ones simply didn’t sing on the chorus in order for the song to balance out , as instructed by Quincy Jones
We forget this was at 5 am even after a huge night credit to them
According to Billy Joel, the reason he and Springsteen don't always show up in the chorus is that in the other end of the room there was a pile of sandwiches and beers. The two of them kept going over there and getting Yet Another Sandwich and Yet Another Beer.
