I just found your channel and subscribed. I'm not surprised at their salaries. I usually cruise with Princess. On our last cruise, our cabin steward, who was from the Philippines, said it was his 23rd year with Princess. He seemed to enjoy his job, and I could see his pride in a well-done job. His cheerful demeanor added to our enjoyment of the cruise. The crew members work LONG hours for their pay, with little time off in the ports. I had to laugh about the salaries and the comment that few Americans would take the jobs for the kind of wages offered. As a senior citizen living on a pension & Social Security, the salary with free housing & food looks good to me. But at my age, I couldn't keep their schedule. The majority of the cruise line staff onboard work very hard for their salary and tips. I don't see the same work ethic in the US these days.
@live2skide1 thank you for subscribing. I agree the crews work long hard hours with little time off and always seem joyful and happy. I know too as a senior on social security who lost my husband's soc sec when he passed, it's very hard to live.
