Good advice about not letting kids wander on their own on the ship. We do get a false sense of security. I’ve thought before (with my 13 year old son) “it’s not like he can go anywhere.” Thankfully he was fine. But it was a foolish thought.

Cruises are more hassle than its worth..

Very helpful. I haven't been on a cruise for nearly 30 years, and I need to get all caught up.

I am aware of the new rules for traveling with medications on planes and cruise ships. I have several medications for a couple serious conditions. I was on a cruise last September and then traveled around Alaska. It was so difficult to keep my AM and PM and supplements organized. Everything was in their original container but if I could have just put each day's meds in an AM and a PM small baggie, life would have been so much better. My husband says to just do the baggies as I've always done. Nobody will care. Carrying around all he medication bottles takes up a lot of room in my bag.

I just found your channel and subscribed. I'm not surprised at their salaries. I usually cruise with Princess. On our last cruise, our cabin steward, who was from the Philippines, said it was his 23rd year with Princess. He seemed to enjoy his job, and I could see his pride in a well-done job. His cheerful demeanor added to our enjoyment of the cruise. The crew members work LONG hours for their pay, with little time off in the ports. I had to laugh about the salaries and the comment that few Americans would take the jobs for the kind of wages offered. As a senior citizen living on a pension & Social Security, the salary with free housing & food looks good to me. But at my age, I couldn't keep their schedule. The majority of the cruise line staff onboard work very hard for their salary and tips. I don't see the same work ethic in the US these days.

I like Princess' cause it includes WiFi too. And milkshakes..... It's really the milkshakes....

Our daughters, who were dropping us off, in 2014, were able to come aboard and have lunch with us. I remember meeting my grandparents’ ship, probably in SF, and just visiting while they were in port. 1970something.

I watched a RUclips video on Icon of the Seas. Awesome cruise ship. The jaw dropping amenities available on that ship beggar belief.

Jeez, I'm going with my husband on our 1st cruise next month & booked it a year ago cuz i was told its cheapest. So for just the 2 of us, it cost a little over $3,900. So do expensive. And mind you we didn't get the drink or dining packages. Just for the cruise tickets. Crazy

I cruised Holland America's "Prinsendam" in 2013. It was a 14 day cruise out of Ft Lauderdale, . It was good news/bad news.Good News: 800 passengers (older folks) so it was a much smaller ship than the behemoths that cruise now with well over 3,000 passengers. Because it was smaller it could visit places in the Caribbean the big ships couldn't visit, you made friends easy because you saw the same people almost daily. The service and food was superb!! The bad news: it was the most boring cruise I've ever taken. The stage shows were boring, and the few bars on the ship were quiet and boring, and...for the most part...the ship was almost empty by 10PM. There just wasn't much room for entertainment and the much older crowd went to bed early and rose early. Don't get me wrong, I hate the 5000 passenger plus "barges" owned by RC trying to duplicate Disneyland, but I get the feeling Viking might be a little too "conceited" and proud of itself catering to the "upper class hoity toity crowd looking down at us peasants!! I'll stick to Princess, Holland America, and every now and then a "walk on the wild side" with Carnival! (you haven't lived until you have a hamburger from "Guy's Burger Joint"!! ) BTW, I'm just a young 76 year old baby boomer!! Good luck with your channel!! I'll even subscribe and give you a thumbs up! PS: Holland America sold the Prinsendam.
