Even though I have put my fall winter scents in the back row now that we in the northern hemisphere are in spring, I wore this today as my SOTD. :)
Love it. Very underated and not many wear it so it's a unique to everyone
I drove in the pouring rain to the retailer knowing they had 1 bottle left in the store grabbed it and its to me Niche material, the Guvenchy line im really liking the Iris note how its been done, a bit different to Dior Homme Intense but totally happy paid $180 AUD which unfortunately we dont have discounters like the US plus this stuff will never go to discounters, perfect time now as its coming into Winter in Australia so Ive got a stack of Autumn/Winter designers that im really wanting to pull the trigger, you could wear this in Spring but definitely not summer. But total class, also the Boise is great aswell, but this one to me is the best in their line.
Unique description, I'm definitely buying this one 🇹🇹👍🔥 Every iris frag we love, in one bottle.
I have just tried this, it's very addictive, I agree about it not having a whisk(e)y note persay, but I think rather than having a whisk(e)y note, I think this has the notes of a decent aged Bourbon itself, if you've ever smelt your glass after finishing a straight bourbon like a Maker's Mark for exsample, you'll see what I mean (Pro tip for whisk(e)y tasting btw, this way you can pick out the notes without the acolhol blast)

I purchased the edp and the iris to me was too full on, then i got the Boisee and yeah baby , i used heaps already i love it and last night in Australia it was late night shopping and i was looking thru a retail chains colognes and finally they had it, it was pouring rain so I went to the Department Store and they had 1 bottle left, so I just said put it in a bag, ive put it on thismorning and its brilliant, the iris ive learnt is how their line works and ive got used to it , so its now Autumn/fall and then winter in Aust so it will be getting used alot. Great fragrance you cant go wrong if you have the edp or any in the line you are not going to be dissapointed and im only new to the Givenchy Gentleman line, so for me the boisee and this one are complete legends
So far, Givenchy Gentleman line has not failed me yet. This will be the next fragrance I buy. If it gets enough hype, maybe it'll get discontinued. 😂

Reads pretty similar to One million lucky. I think the Givenchy could be a slightly more mature gourmand. Excited to try this 😍

Mate one million lucky is toilet water compared to this , they dont even compare. This is a mans cologne 1 million lucky is a boys comogne that lasts for about an hour this line Givenchy Gentleman has taught me about Iris , so you could even layer it up with Dior Homme Intense has the iris not but a bit more lipsticky this new Givenchy doesn't compare to any other designer brand it stands alone.

Got my bottle yesterday and I love it! The whisky note for me is very strong in the opening and I don’t get the chestnut until a few hours after spraying. Definitely getting a second bottle!

Ive been collecting for over a decade. I have a respected collection... this cologne is EXTREMELY underrated. One of the BEST for cold weather, even as an overall scent. Extremely classic with a modernized compliment. P.S. The dry-down is heavenly, on another level, comparable only to Green Irish Tweed and Tom Ford's.
I just got it and the collar comes off with the cap. If I get it on right it will click in place but it keeps popping off. I was wondering if that's something common with this?

Checking out the Givency line and I am liking it, a lot. Sampled a couple this week. Trying to make up my mind which one to get.
Personally i got the edp and took it back it was just a massivd Iris bomb, but I have got the Boisee and now this one and the same DNA is there the way they use iris is their trademark but this one is the bomb its near Niche quality and its not in everyones collection so you will get noticed if thats what your after

It's called reserve privée, I think, because that means private reserve, which is usually about whiskey. A lot of companies have private reserve whiskeys. So yeah.

I love this! Quickly became my favorite from Gentleman line. Already have 60ml bottle but when it hits discounters am getting 100ml backup.
You know it’s not going to for a while and when it does it’s going to be like 98$ plus shipping… and it’ll probably be second or third batch; I was going to do that too but they just got 100ml in yesterday so I pulled the trigger. I’ll use my 60 ml as my traveler
How is gentleman only?
It wont hit discounters not this one. This is their master piece.

Great video Ash! I also love this line, so it’s only a given that I will buy this. The EDP is my favorite, but I love all of them! 🤟Oh…and make yourself a hot toddy, with whisky and honey in it. Get a nice buzz on, and you should wake up feeling better. Or, maybe not able to feel worse…👍
Is the edp better than boise ?
@@moe_8894 I like it better, but that’s because the EDP has a more pronounced Iris note. It’s more floral and powdery in that aspect. Boisee has a much more nuanced iris note and is more woody (hence the name). Boisee is also great, I just like the EDP more because I love iris notes in fragrances.

I love the gentlemen edp but this one is a stair up, it is a less "lipsticky" les sharp (the edp has pepper that pushes) thus thus a a softer smoother and more "gentlemeny" version than the gentleman edp. The buzzy is not like in ch prive but more like mixing the scent private accord and gentlemen edp. The projection is closer than the edp though. But it lasts slightly as much as the edp but the edp lasts longer on me
The edp is not lipsticky at all it's one of my favs
I like this one, it's very gourmandy

I have pre 2020 DHI too and you can buy the givenchy! they are not too similar and the givenchy is easier to wear
I got a decant of this about a year ago. It was wonderful and lasted all day. I finally got a full bottle from Macys and it’s very weak. Lasts about an hour. I can directly compare it to the decant and there is a huge difference. I hate when these companies do that. I would not recommend the current formulation.

Sweet, this could be what i’ve missed in all of the others in the line. Really enjoyed the Cologne, EDP and Boisée but all of them have had terrible performance on me. Looking forward to check this one out.
Which did you like better the boise or the edp ?
Boisée was the best in the line for me followed by EDP.

I find this one to be weak on me as well.
After giving it a couple of wearings , I found out that it is just a smoother and less harsh version of the edp . No prominent notes of whiskey or chestnuts of what so ever . With all that in mind , it is still a descent release.

Only givincy i ever bought was xeryus what a stunner sadly discontinued was thinking about getting gentleman givincy edt or edp. My partner was in a store asked her to have smell of both and she hated both but think i will have to order one from there range and she what i think lol. But not been disappointed by all the aftershaves i have bought through reviews so can see how Givenchy gentleman can be so bad giving all the great reviews its had in its line.

I haven't tested nor bought this new one but if it's anything like Gentlemen, the 60ml bottle will be sufficient as it's a powerhouse.

Just got my 60ml bottle yesterday. Tried twice with 4 spray on my neck. Sadly, the smell doesn't come to my expectation compared to my Givenchy Gentlemen EDP which had more strength dan bold of iris plus better longevity and performance. A let down.

I had the same experience. Smelt nice enough for 15 minutes then the scent just disappeared (genuine article bought from Givenchy website). Do not blind buy.

I received my order on the 23rd, and already received my backup bottle yesterday! I am a huge fan of the Gentleman lineup, but this one is mind blowingly great!
Better than Prada Lhomme? That’s the only fragrance I’ve smelled that was backup worthy imo
@@WD.909 I can’t compare it to Prada L’homme, none of them (edt, Intense, water splash, or Absolute) use iris the same way that Givenchy does. I would compare it to the way Dior and Valentino (and Armaf Futura La Homme). So better? No, different.
