I believe I got it at homedepot since I do alot of shopping there. if I find a link I will post it for you. here is a link for amazon. I might have got it from a window store. I honestly can't remember. but I hope this link will help www.amazon.ca/s?k=window+locking+handle&sprefix=window+locking+&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_15
Thanks so much for video! It was very helpful. I also used your link to get the replacement part from Amazon. It should be here I a couple of weeks. Yay! Thanks again!
Thank you! super easy with your reassurance that I was putting pressure in the correct place. Tricky to get the arm off of the broken piece. Things didn't seem to line up with the little bumps on the round nugget, so I had to take the screws off the entire track to release the tension. It popped off easy and then screwed it all back together. My biggest fear was dropping a screw or a piece I needed and having the puppers eat it before I could retrieve it. lol.
I am glad my video was helpful. yes its a bit tricky with the broken arm but very much doable as you have experienced. I did drop a screw when i was doing it. i am glad you didnt puppies are quick. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video! I learned so much and saved me time. I couldn't figure out how to pry it open and was going to give up and hire someone to come fix it.
It was hard to pull up, so, I got my flathead screwdriver and slid it down between the rubber at the edge of the window. When it seemed to touch the broken place I applied a lot of pressure. The I tried pulling up as you mentioned in the video and it opened. It was difficult but thatnks
Yes it can be difficult to open for sure but in the end you can open it and be able to replace the broken latch. I am glad you were able to use my video as an aid to be able to fix your window.
I have the similar window lock, but my lock is very loose, big wind made the lock open itself for two times, Do I need to replace the loose lock with the new one?
it could be warn out and needs replacement or maybe it just needs adjustment, i believe the screws have a slot to be able to do some minor adjustments.
With a bit of perseverance and bad language we managed to free the lock! It was difficult for us to remove old parts and had to use hacksaw as we could not maneuver to get off. Finally got new part on. My wife did that as I lost my patience with it!🤣
Yes, it's one of those things that if it doesnt go well it's a pain. Put the new one in is a breeze compared to taking it out that's for sure. I am glad it was helpful and you finally got it back working again.
Mine is broken in exactly the same way, but I cant seem to move the broken part upward into the unlocked position. Is it just a matter of more force? How hard should it be to adjust it?
I have provided you a link i hope this helps you might be able to find them at a window store as well. If you need anything let me know. www.amazon.ca/s?k=window+locking+handle&sprefix=window+locking+&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_15
are you able to move the lever? and by the sounds of it, it doesn't unlock the window if you can move it. will it put out straight out? It hard to think of what to do without seeing it but I can offer ideas and hopefully it helps. if some how you can move the lever to get it to unlock that's the best bet. if you can remove the lever and use a screwdriver or something to pry the mechanism to have it unlock then you can open the window and undo the screws to replace the lever lock.
I cant remember i though i got it at homedepot but they dont have any right now. Maybe i got it at a window store. Either way i do have a link below for amazon that sell them. www.amazon.ca/s?k=window+locking+handle&sprefix=window+locking+&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_15
It can be somewhat awkward and frustrating after screws are off align the little tabs on the circular piece and if you can try getting a flat head screwdriver behind it and try and pry gently so it pops out. I hope this helps
Where did you buy the part? I can’t find it in any hardware store, I too live in Canada

If I had a lock like yours, can I replace it with a completely different lock? Like a Multipoint lock?

My lever is still intact but the mechanism broke inside. How do I get the lever off so I can pop the mechanism to open the window?

Congratulations, Did you find it hard to do yourself?
Interesting. I have the same window and all accept I cannot get the lock off that little circular thing that it’s attached to

Cannot get it off the circular piece even with flat head screwdriver?
