  • Helix, a name that may soon become synonymous with revolutionary propulsion, has unveiled what could be the most advanced electric motor ever seen: the SPX177. This marvel of engineering is not just a leap but a quantum jump in electric motor technology, boasting an astonishing 872 horsepower while tipping the scales at a mere 62 pounds. So, what sets the SPX177 apart in a sea of electric motors clamoring for attention? How did Helix achieve such a feat? What hypercar will house this Herculean power? And perhaps most intriguingly, when will we see this motor in action on the streets?

Every engine improvement that gives us the power at less weight will improve performance of the cars without any other changes of the battery or other things. This is a very nice gain for everyone. The idea of super HP isn't so important for most cars.

I would venture that the hypercar developer is probably BYD. This motor platform and the abilities of expansion makes it very flexible and seems to address multiple types of vehicles. Sounds great, how do I invest 🤔 😊

BYD? They are about making affordable cars not cutting edge. There is not a lot of development at BYD.

No, it will change it until the next improvement comes along.

The best electric motor is the Lucid Air motor because it uses very little energy, and this is the most important thing

    Hi Folks,
You should use a 1-Stroke INN Engine going to the inverse generator that your motor becomes by reversing what, two wires?
If the engine is configured to run off of a five gallon tank of liquid Hydrogen, using its phase change to cool super conducting generators, would that 120 horsepower INN Engine generate enough of the (3-Phase?) voltage your motor needs?
Inquiring minds want to know! 939 horsepower is a lot of propulsion power for a plane, boat, or torpedo!
    Respectfully,
    R. Rex De Nemo

you show some many different types of motors and spew so much sales bs, hard to see what is the break through here, why not just take the one model and explain it so we can get an understanding of what the actual improvements are?

    Horse Puke
This so called EvMotor is wired not pin and anyone who has ever run EvMotor know Pin Motors are the only way to get EvMotor reliability..
    Sure
For 1-2 weeks you may get a high efficiency but then the wired stater fails
Efficiency and Reliability are the key to EvMotors
    Maybe
You can get a wired stater to run a few years if you glue the pagjesus out of a wired EvMotor but it will fail prematurely

Of course that’s right, that’s until you look at the facts. The Tesla Model Y is now the most popular selling CAR in the world. EVs continue to grow in sales. The transition to EVs has passed the tipping point. Many Legacy manufacturers are going to faze out ICE cars and only make EVs by the early mid 2030s. You can resist change all you like but you will change even if it takes a few decades.
