I wanted to make one correction on the other guitar player and his name was Mike HUTCHENS. Mike was from Nashville and was kind of s legend around there for literally teaching half of the city how to play guitar. He was a teacher at Madison Music for decades. Unfortunately Mike passed away on 9/15/19 unexpectedly in his sleep :( Mike was an AMAZING person and musician and had lots and I do mean lots of Peter Criss stories that will unfortunately go untold. Enjoyed this lots fellas!
I know I couldn’t remember Peter’s age off the top of my head.....did I quote the wrong years for Peter’s albums? Those I know so, if I did I misspoke. Thanks for watching and clarifying!
@@therockexperiencewithmikeb8365 It's impressive how much you do know off the top. ;) You mentioned UK vs US dates, so pretty much everything was spot on. Just filling in for the viewers. 👊
Awesome, thanks!! I’m usually good with dates (it amazes my friends that I usually remember dates of concerts I went to 30 years ago within a day or two....lol). But, ask me to remember someone’s name....I’ll fail that every time.....lol
Gosh this was a blast from my past. I lived above the Cherry Croft. I was friends with the owners and Stan, not a Kiss fan. I loved meeting Peter and must have went to both shows although I remember only the first one. Not tons of people there but a lot for that small restaurant. The show was really fun and very unrehearsed. The Cherry Croft is no longer there. Great memories there. Lou Reed used to frequent there before he quit drinking. Great place and Peter was awesome. He signed an autograph for me. 😮
....speaking on Eric's discovering the band. It is refreshing to hear someone like him that discovered the band before the Super Hero/Merchandise overload happened. I got in ('75) with Dressed to Kill on 8 track and it was the music that hooked me. So with Eric and I being about the same age, I thoroughly enjoy hearing perspectives of the early fans and even more of those that are older than us. Because the merchandise and all that led to was a big turnoff. Unfortunately.
@@therockexperiencewithmikeb8365 Thanks for your understanding! So here's the deal. By time of the Dynasty tour, at the concert, you have all these youngsters (super young) with their parents who were not into the band. And to me, the album wasn't that great. Good but not great. I checked out at that point.
Just a couple of corrections with the timeline. Out of Control was released in 1980 and Peter started appearing without make up in public around this time too. One interview he did is with Tom Snyder on the Tomorrow Show, which was also done in 1980 (search for it on RUclips). Let Me Rock You was released in 1982 which has his face on the album cover with no make up.
You know a true KISS fan when they "check out" but still but the albums and see the concerts. But I know what he means. It's like anything, you don't stop supporting, you just don't necessarily believe in the current line up as much.

Great stuff! "Out Of Control" came out in 1980. "Let Me Rock You" came out in 1982. Peter is 74 years now. Born in 1945.

Unfortunately.
I totally and 100% get that, even though I became a fan during the “merchandise era”.

Agreed....but as a younger fan I didn’t see those clips (or album cover) until the mid 80s. At least that was me.
pounder46 just listened back.....you are right, I incorrectly said OOC was 82, not 80. My bad.
All good. Great interview and thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!!

Mike, I love your channel! You do this from the heart. Good for you👍👍 just curious- did you like the band PIPER?
Thanks for the kind words. For whatever reason I never really connected with Piper. I may need to give them another shot one day.
Great interview. Is the full audio of the show available?
Not my post, but here it is!
