  • I first discovered Pearl Yachts at the Cannes Boat Show last year when I had a tour of the 62 and 95 in their range. I was fortunate to be invited on the press day for this new Pearl Yachts 72 over in Palma, Mallorca which is an amazing little island in the Med and part of Spain.
This British brand is taking the competition to Princess and Sunseeker by producing a very high quality build at a cheaper price by utilizing their manufacturing facility in China. I've seen this before with an Australian Whitehaven Yachts built in Taiwan and I have to say they have come out with an excellent product that does meet the European brands head on in terms of quality. Sure it won't have the brand recognition that Princess & Sunseeker enjoy in Australia but the cost savings are real and the argument to put a vessel like this into charter is also a solid one.
They have already sold their first Pearl 62 into Sydney so expect to see more about this interesting company downunder very soon!
    Please enjoy,
    Dan Jones

Dan, I noticed the sound level in the guest cabins gets exponential but then again, you're not going to be in your cabin while you're en route to your next destination during the day. If your captain is nightcruising he's doing it at 8 to 10 knots. I saw a review on Aquaholics that Nick did but I don't remember what model. He said the same thing, they are built very well. Any yacht that has that type of speed it's going to be loud somewhat because of the speed they obtained with the engines they put in them. All in all, they look like very well-built yachts.

We were doing around 24kts at that time John so yes it's going to be noisy. I'd say most nightime operations would be with genset running ans seakeeper on but if you were underway 8-10kts much better for the comfort levels. It looked to me like they are overbuilding in some areas so maybe prove themselves to a new market?

Great little ship, great fly, great accommodation, fantastic open "kitchen", the only downgrade on it is there is no fridge inside the galley, you've to walk around to the fridge and great they put a bigger one in the future. It's a boat you really can spend your long holidays on and if you have your favorites on is even better

Great video Dan with excellent camera work by Scotie, just to let you know, the feature mirrors facing the beds contain a TV.

Nice video, would be helpful as you are describing something the cameraman was showing it.

I don't actually have a cameraman. I just give the camera to whoever is with me on the day and I coach them on how to follow me around. It's a new person ever shoot so we just do our best.

I agree with John, There were so many times that all Scottie had to do was to point the camera where you wanted us to see and he just didn't. Like the ceiling mirror!

Not sure of the point of those side wings. I know that Galeon has sides that come down and they are much larger, providing usable space around the living area, but the ones on the Pearl look hard to access, isolated and useless. Am I missing something. Aside from that, this boat would be the top of my list if I had the money.

Scotty your camera work needs to focus on what he is talking about not just host.

Scotty isn’t a cameraman he’s my mate and I roped him in for the day 😂 we didn’t have much time as it was a press day so we just filmed what we could

Unfortunately they are all starting to look similar on the outside beautiful yachts that resemble Princess…however the interior is definitely a step above in creativity..

Yes they do all have a similar look I agree. I guess that's market demand doing that? The interior layout is very cool. Also on the 62!

You would think they would put armrest on the captains chair. Also, stove is right behind the helm. I cannot imagine driving in the rain while my wife is cooking and the heat coming off the stove hitting the back of my head. I think they should move the stove away from the helm seats.
