Greetings AC Family, sorry I've been away for a few weeks! Been busy with the new Ant House, healing from Covid, and other stuff! But I'm back with another ant video and I hope you guys enjoy it! So what should we name the isopods? I also want to thank our AC Senate (forgot to shout them out in the end credits): Queen Ants: Kyle H Michael Dastous Laurien Staelen Michael Jenkins Supermajors: Yggy Stardust Chrissyliz1988 Nate Groening XxCharger GamingxX Abraham S. I can’t imagine what this must be like for the ants, being introduced to an alien species that act like they own the place just like themselves. Nature is so cool.
I use to watch this guy four or so years ago and recently just got back into it, I just wanted to say his content is nice and I'm currently binging them!
Since they love to not only act like rocks but also climb on them as they try to co-exist with the ants, I think a perfect name for them would be... *Rock N Rollies!* I mean someone had to say it! I think the Rock Climbers would be a good name too Nobody: That isopod: You know, I'm something of a rock myself The isopods really pulled a John Cena/Sneak 100 with that one...
Isopods are one of my favorite crustaceans, I always puts them together with some small trees and plants I've got and they always stay there and live in the soil for as long as they live. They help keep the plant healthy, get rid of some left over dead stuff and overall I like the looks of a small living bit of nature in my room
"Guys, guys, guys! Taste this!" "BLAEHHHH" "Mmm, that was quite good!" Mother birds: *One of us, ONE OF US!* The isopods may act like rocks. But no matter how much they try, they'll never be *THE* Rock
This was one of my absolute favorite videos of yours over the years!! I LOVE isopods so seeing you integrate them more into the stories and footage has made me overjoyed!!!
@@RodrigoRodrigues-hk8sd I do know that ants and bees are both from the order Hymenoptera. Colonies of both are led by a queen that produces all the eggs. They also determine things by vote, as AntsCanada showed us in a previous video.
My backyard has a colony or more of fire ants and rough sowbugs, and I often see them together under the same logs. Interesting interactions to see. Love the vids.
Oh I've had a quite close idea before seeing this comment lol "The Redwood sneaky cleaners" Kinda like the Red Hot Chili Peppers ^^ Crawlers will also fit !
I’d call the isopods the Crimson Crew, as they are the clean up crew for Crimsonia! I always named my isopod colonies as if they were gangsters, my favorites were The VooDoo Crew which were my A. vulgare “magic potion” and my PowderPuffs which were my powder orange isopods 😊
Name them the Undercover Agents. It has a nice multilevel meaning. Meant to live in the soil (under cover), and passively mimicking rocks to get out of trouble (so they're disguised and moving incognito). Both secret agents and soil agents.
my son likes "suspicious janitors" for the isopods. me myself am a huge Hayao Miyazaki fan and have always thought of isopods as chibi versions of Ohmu from Nausicaa and the valley of the wind. so my suggestion for the isopods is "chibi ohmu". I'm liking that you already have 500 comments and have only posted about an hour ago.
Welcome back ants Canada.. Prayers and wishes for your recovery from covid. And prayers and wishes to you and your family. Let's just hope this covid-19 just stops. Eventually.

I've been subscribed for many years now and love the content! I've seen many different video styles threw out the years but I'm curious if anyone else felt like this video was someone reading a children's book? Could be just me but still love the content!
love your videos for years now. Don't love the excess narration (making pretend noises like "numnumnum" for the ants) great video. Keep changing the world for the better.
Hi! I was wondering if there were anymore videos involving these ants? I have looked through his channel but it appears this his is last video of these ants. If there is so more, can someone send me the link?
I really love these videos. I have to be honest though. Those wet Foley sounds you added for when they're eating, was up a little too high. It's just like constant wet sloshing and squishing sounds and it made this video really hard for me to get through...its usually not louder than your voice but this time it was..idk. thank you for all you do and thank you for sharing all of experiences
I love your content and this was a great break for my afternoon. Feedback: Personally I'm not a big fan of the "bug noises" that were added in in post-production. The crinkling noise were a bit irritating amongst the music and narration, which normally make for a pretty chill watching experience.
I just came across the Camponoseum video earlier this evening. Hours later and several videos more, I’ve got to say I am truly invested! Redwoods are awesome! How is the Ebony colony doing? How are the other Camponoseum colonies? This is waaay better than any series on Netflix 😎🐜🙌🏻
when I came to live in my neighborhood with my parents in 1988 the place was relatively new so, no isopods anywhere so I went back to my old stomping grounds where I developed the love for searching for bugs from pretty much the day I could walk and I found many isopods and introduced them to my new garden now today they are all over the neighborhood. now in forested areas, in my country, there lives an isopod that can grow up to whopping 2 inches! as soon as spring hits I'm getting them I know where to find them and the isopod world of my creation needs more diversity after 33 years I know of 3 other species and I'm getting them too introducing them first to my compost heap as I did with the first batch. I introduced quite a lot of animal life in the period 1988-92 snails and slugs toads ladybugs millipedes worms rarer local ants and many more. the plot of houses was pretty bare in 1988 it was built on an artificially elevated sand bar it takes some time for that to bear fruit talking about flora I introduced a ton load of plants that all migrated from my postage stamp of a garden to the whole neighborhood like you I'm a creator of worlds unlike you I live in it!
Two inch isopods? Sounds like you live in Spain, where the largest terrestrial isopods have been discovered. I keep a Spanish species, called Porcellio magnificus, which grow to roughly two inches in length.
I suggest the “Carapace Crew” A carapace is the upper shell of a turtle arachnid or crustaceans, and isopods are crustaceans. And crew since they are like a cleanup crew for the ant’s garbage.
Isopods are EXCELLENT cleanup crews however, as soon as they start reproducing, you’ll very quickly go from a few, to hundreds! And as soon as that happens, they’ll actually start competing pretty heavily with the ants. (Unless you have a species which is specifically known for being aggressive.) I’ve literally seen tugging matches between carpenter ants and zebra isopods, (Armadillidium, maculatum) and unfortunately, the ants don’t always win, especially once the isopods start to outnumber them. So if you do introduce isopods, you’ll be fine for the first few months but after that, be prepared to start removing them by the dozen.
I can’t believe i watch his channel i have hyper entomophobia, and i mean hyper I can’t even handle flies and mosquitoes but this man made me like ants a little, but still some progress tho.
I couldn't handle seeing cockroach irl or but somehow I can watch him chop up cockroach to give his ants colony. I have a fear for ants too because I left food out on the table for too long and...well, it was disturbing to see. But here I am following him for about 2 years already.
Thanks Mikey!! Awsome video and I truly hope all is going well for you with the new house. I think you should call the isopods the trilobites because they look like mini ones!! Thanks again, take care, stay safe and healthy!!
I think the Isopods could be called the “Robin crew” since how they share the similarity with Robin Hood about stealing something but giving something back in return, just like how some of the isopods were taking a bit of the jelly but do help as the cleanup crew in return!
This is certainly a new, unique format. It feels like it's tailored to more of a younger audience though than an adult, which could work, but was a deterrent for me. I like to come here for the science-y stuff and learning about ants rather than simpler wording and more personification of the ants. It's like watching National Geographic vs National Geographic Kids. You could possibly split up the format for videos tailored towards children, but that's just my thoughts on it. The bug eating noises were also a slight bother to me. Maybe quite them down or remove them?
Ants Canada hasn't made many science-y videos in years, and has been constantly going further away from them. If you want to watch some better ant videos then I reccomend watching Jordan Dean: ruclips.net/user/AntsAustralia
Name suggestion the bold janitors because they’re like the cleanup crew janitors and they’re bold like literally they were trying to steal the food while they were still feeding from it

Hey AntsCanada, I think you should call the isopods the “cleaning crawlers“ because they clean the ants mess while crawling around like the ants do.
I hope you feel better now 😁
I like the name “Hoplites” because of the Roman shield carriers. The isopods remind me of a little shield and they sort of ‘protect’ the ecosystem😄
Maybe hopmites? Since they r bugs
@@sirhamptonthe3rd I like that. Hopmites has my vote.

Don’t carpenter ants live alongside isopods who like moist environments in the wild?
I think the Isopods should be called “The Armored Empire”. I’m so excited to potentially see more Isopod content.
That's good
