What’s the difference between the smithi and this one?
I just bought one I'm so nervous about keeping it alive due to it being my first. ❤️ Wish me luck
This one is my first too! ❤️
Keep calm its my 2nd
Just bought one noww for the first time I wish I can show u guys pics
I hope your nerves have been calmed. I felt like this when I got my first tarantula but by the 2nd and 3rd you will see how easy it is to keep them alive.
So how is it doing?
I got one (adult confirmed female) recently, two weeks ago, and she is an asshole, she kicks hair as soon as something sounds around... I love her! It's a lot of fun watching her hunt down the crickets and roaches as soon as she sense them. Also got a B. Emilia with her, also adult confirmed female. I hope to see one Emilia video soon as was a surprise I didn't saw it on your channel! This channel is pure awsomness, is kinda like an encyclopedia for tarantula hobbyists around the world (from Mexico here!). Thanks a lot!!
I've been looking at this species for awhile now. Love the flames.
are there other species colored like the Mexican Flame Knee, Venezuelan Sun Tiger or
Chaco Golden Knee?
Oh man, choosing a favorite Brachy must be like choosing your favorite child. They’re all so majestic and sweet.
Children are not sweet 😂
@@BillieRC fair enough lol.
One of my favorite Brachys. I had to get one when I babysat my friend's and saw how beautiful they are. I have 3 but they are still about an inch slings. :( Great stuff as always.
Hi I only have a Brackypelma Hamorii sling it is 1intch in legspan and a 0.5 intch Nhandu Coloratovillosus.
I love your videos and keep up with the great work you tought me alot.
Just got my very first tarantula at a local reptile Expo not even 5 hours ago and managed to snag one of these gems. I saw the adult and wanted it so badly. I wasn't able to afford it but they had babies so naturally, I grabbed everything I could and am already super stoked to watch it grow. Been watching your vids for caring for babies and whatnot. Thanks so much for all the helpful information! Wanna have this beauty going for years to come!
I retrofitted my lid on this tank with light diffuser panel, worked really well!
It will be probably my first tarantula.
All your tarantulas look good & plump an happy 🕷

Mine just arrived today. Half inch!. So tiny!!. I ordered a 1" boehmie as well. These little guys are going to teach me some patience. I totally agree with you about the B. Auratum. The GBB as well. Mine hooked out 5/30/23 unfortunately
That's my first tarantula it's very easy to care I love this so much
Just waiting for B hamori and emilia to arrive this week. I'm a big fan of the black and orange colour combo. Awesome video as always!
Thank you for this Video Sir Richard, Brachypelma Auratum is my favorite of all Brachypelma sp. 😍 Subs from Philippines
Amazing video loved it keep up the wonderful work wonderful image I love the sound
Thanks pal!
Such a stunning species within the genus!! I have one, no colours yet tho as it’s only 1.5cm, awesome video!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great vídeo ! Excelente quality !! Congrats !! I just bougth this tarántula km from México 😁
I have this species which I got as a sling. Every since it was a baby it would not take down this Cricket as soon as I put it in there. But once I close the lid and set it back on the Shelf I could check back in 1 minute and it would have it in its mouth. It seems to be a little shy. But it is growing into a beautiful t.
great video and gorgeous tarantula!
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks for an awesome arachnid vid! Very informative
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful !
Thank you!
I love your videos bro!

Brachypelma are my favourites and I have at least one of each species of the genus
I love your videos Richard, you give such incredible information 😊👍🏼
That's awesome! Thank you!
Awesome video. I would like to see one on the Nhandu Coloratovillosus. That would be awesome.
Another interesting video I've learned so much from you . Thanks
So nice of you
I've just been offered a white striped bird eater would you be doing a video on them by any chance? Thanks .
I’ve been binge watching your video all day and I’ve notice you’ve have lost weight! Good job buddy!.

Mine will arrive next week, it's my first tarantula :D
Absolutely my favorite Brachypelma species. Mine has character
This is the one I want.
Saludos desde mexico 😍 2 lugar en las tarantulas mas hermosas del mundo 🌍
Hey Richard, I have been watching your videos and love the info. that you give. Also, I love to make my own enclosures, so here is a question that I have for you: Can magnets be used to keep doors closed on Tarantula enclosures? Also, I am looking forward to your next video.
Hello Richard! I am a Brachypelma Auratum keeper. I got her as Matured Female already. I am just a newbie on tarantula keeping ang i noticed that the knee pattern of my Auratum is different from other auratum. I subjected her as a cross bred product. I would like to show it to you.
BTW. Nice video! I really loved your contents.
Your video quality is always amazing! I recently got a big female Brachypelma auratum and it's such a crazy hair kicker lol. I am pretty scared every time I open or even touch the enclosure.
Gorgeous species and concise, comprehensive care video as always.
I was wondering if you could do a care video on the cyriopagopus (haplopelma? I've read sources that say both) minax. Common name seems to be Thailand Black tarantula. They have a somewhat fearsome reputation as far as defensiveness goes and it seems they would be in the same category experience wise as h.lividum. I've never seen a care video for the species and that may simply be because not many people have them.
Thank you, always look forward to Tarantula Tuesday ^.^
Searched long time for a confirmed little female (Germany) and found one 3 weeks ago (1"). Lucky me! Though Brachys are common but they are for me the best T´s. Good size, bulky, hardy, beautyful, always visible and long lived!
What a beautiful video. I loved watching the legs as I keep trying to figure out how each leg moves in relationship to the opposite side. Fantastic choices of music too. Thanks for all of your hard work on your videos along with the excellent information on each species. Love Tarantula Tuesday and all of your videos.
great video ! 👍 best regards Weronika and Łukasz from WarsawSpiders🖐
Thank you! Cheers!
I think this and Emilia are my favorite Brachypelma
Nice pic 👍
My flame knee is almost always underground as a juvenile. I can’t wait for it to grow and stay beautiful above.
The intro music pumps me up so much. And I absolutely love listening to you talk while I study or work on college stuff. Keep up the good work, man!
Thank you! Will do!
💜
My flame knee is such a hair kicker!
Did you do a vid on how to change that mesh lid I have the same tank and couldn't find the vid
Fab vid I finally decided to get one tho it’s just a baby
My first pet is auratum!
Hello, I just got one, and everyone is saying different things on how to take care of them. I trust this channel, so how should one clean the substrate, how much white spots of shit is OK? Should one invest in poop-eating-buggers? They dig less when older? anywayaahs, great quality of your descriptions of these different Tarantula species
💕💕💕💕💕💕
The Brachys are probably my favorite genus just because of the colors. The Boehmei still gets my vote for best in show. What's next? Have you featured the Pink Zebra Beauty yet? I've got one coming in a couple of days. It's a temperament thing.
do a C.Marshalli please!!
When I was a kid I used to find them in the wild but I doubt I’ll ever see one ever again.
i have one of those specie :)
Quick little tip Richard! Manually focus your lens and you won’t have to worry about the camera blurring when it tries to focus on your hands!
Yeah, usually I do that. This was a new camera and I forgot to turn it to manual focus, I also left the auto white balance on...lol. new lens, new camera....hopefully I will have bbn it dialed in better in the next one.
the_tarantula_collective dope! What’s the setup? I’m looking into getting a Sony a7 III
Please see this your a legend to me I love the videos but one thing where do I buy tarantulas online love the videos
I have a whole list on my website:
www.thetarantulacollective.com/resources
the_tarantula_collective thank you so much I love your video have a awesome day
Ps this helps so much
Please do a video on xenesthis immanis
Hi Rich......another epic bid.
I get depressed as they near the end.
You mentioned a man named Schmidt as doing the first real field work on this species.
Is that THE same Karl Schmidt by any chance?
The guy who died from a boomslang bite?
Orgullosamente mexicana
Team boehmei here
I believe my Auratum is looking male as well. Very cool species indeed. A must in the collection if you don’t have one
Hello richard...im sure this video is as amazing as the rest but you know the score...im not allowed to watch it till james gets off work :)
❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍
All Heavy Webber Tarantula pls.
Thanks💕
Can you do another Grammastola pulchra video ?
video about aphonopelma burica soon ?
Hey do you have an Eupalaestrus campestratus? I would love to see a video about them.
I don't have that species yet
Hahah I'm trying to talk my wife into my first t..... so since I can't have a t I have had to accumulate my collecting from the property! So I've got a wolf spider, southern house spider (by far my largest), and my beautiful little regal jumping spider!!! She has a bad ass orange "scary face" on her butt.... I would like to point out I have only saved these spiders from being smashed! My father in law kills any spiders he sees so I have thrown myself between his cane and the spiders I have saved! Lol he is really bad about them but I do have an egg sac within my jumping spiders enclosure!!! Love your videos man!!!
Yeeah he pronounced Schmidt correctly. Here, take an B for your German lessons :D
Next Callenge: Schröder, like in Tliltocatl schroederi. You'll Get an A for it!
Richard can you feature hamorii on next upload please, i hope you read this😁
Just bought a mature female yesterday. I'm surprised that she's not kicking hairs nor giving me a threat pose. The calmest Brachypelma imo. She's so nice and beautiful. Will now be one of my favorite tarantulas. 🙂
Edit:
I will buy an adult male tomorrow. After 5 years in the hobby, this will be my first breeding project. So excited about it. Hoping for a successful breeding project.
I have a Brachypelma😅 its Hamorii😍
have you ever covered the topic of molting or how to handle the collection of the molt safely once the spider's successfully recovered from molting? (primarily in the case of more aggressive or deffensive tarantulas?) any tips on how to do it safely?
When my A.Geniculata molted I just waited until she pushed the left over molt out of her hide. That’s when I took out the molt, make sure you don’t go into the hide (assuming you have a terrestrial t) because they sometimes eat their molts. If it doesn’t want it anymore it’ll move it! Hope this helps:)
I got 1 3 weeks ago. 1st week or 2 didn't eat. Past week has threat posed and attacked the roach's & ate them up. Me lil 11/2 inch is now a fat happy spider.
The first and 2nd takedowns were so cute.
Looking for an adult to buy from a safe source. This will be my first tarantula and I have been wanting one for a long time every since my son bought his rose hair back in 2007. She is the reason I learned to not be afraid of them and grew to love them. If you have any suggestions on where I can order one I would be grateful. This video was great for a beginner with all the information, thank you 😊
Sure thing Rene! I have list of dealers I recommend on my website and some of them even have discount codes available to save you a little money I have listed by their link. Check out my list here: www.thetarantulacollective.com/resources
@@tarantulacollective thank you so much for the information on where to shop, I am looking through them, hoping to find a mature one rather than a sling but not ruling anything out. 😊
@@tarantulacollective I just bought a Mexican red knee package deal from fear not tarantulas that was first on your list. I’m excited 😊
I have a sling! This one rolls when it attacks crickets.
What's your opinion on feeding live vertebrate prey to tarantulas,I see no issue with it as long as the food can't hurt your spider. I give my tarantulas house geckos, little frogs, pinky mice, and even small minnows now and then as treats.
It is definitely one of the most beautiful Brachypelmas. I think my favourite is the emilia though, because of its beautiful face. But the auratum has more beautiful legs. I am curious about the clip about how to exchange the mesh grid by plastic. I have a P. machala in an exo terra enclosure and found her stuck in the mesh some times. I was never sure whether she was afraid to fall down and therefore remained there, or whether she was actually trapped. I helped her by reaching her a corkbark to climb on. Maybe I should remove the metallic grid for her safety?
Love your videos... can you help me, I bought a beautiful BP Hamorii and she has developed a large bald patch. I've never seen her kick hairs and I cant find any info on the internet. Could something be wrong with her husbandry? If anyone can help it would be appriciated. Thanks, Jonny
Jonathan Corbett she is probably about to molt. Is she taking food
IDK if i made a comment on this video yet, but thank you. im fixing to get a red knee very soon and all this knowledge is amasing to learn. i mightve missed it, where can you buy one of those plexi glass habitats, or do yiu just make them? i know it idsn't hard to make one of those but... MURICAH dammit!
Hey Richard! And to anyone reading this, I just recently got a 2inch B. Auratum and the dealer rehoused it in the enclosure that I also bought from him. It's been hours since I got the T and I haven't seen it move nor change it's position, it's still crunched up in the top corner of the enclosure. My dealer said that it's just getting used to the enclosure, my concern is for how long will it take for the T to settle and if it's a good idea that I should put in a prey for it eat. Thanks guys!
I actually have a Mexican read knee
