I hear this song very often on the local radio in Poland and I thought it was something new... and it turned out that it is 20 years old... This shows a lot how good this song is.
This is exactly how my daddy died in 2008. He was otr for years. Gone all the time. He was also a very talented musician. So now Everytime I see this video it makes me think of my parents. The love they had at one time. Now they're both together in heaven. He came home to you mom.

The first two lines fit us perfectly and every time we listened to it for 9 years it made our hearts flutter.... I miss her more than anything..... I love you Ms. Pretty Eyes... Forever and always
Brother...I don't know you, but I know your pain... that's all that needs to be said from another broken soul who made bad choices he wish he could go back in time & change... it's been 15 years, 3 months 26 days, 2 hours and 14 minutes since we went our separate ways & I still remain faithful & in love with her...I don't expect that will ever change. Take care buddy, Martin
The first time I heard this I was 9 years old. My dad said it was my mom and his song because the song literally explained their love. My mom was a young waitress, and my dad was a truck driver. They fell in love right after school and got married. Mom got pregnant, and dad had to go drive. I'm 14 now and my dad is dead, a collision with a tractor trailer, and my mom was torn to pieces. The lyrics in this song are so similar to my parents love it's scary sometimes. Everlast is amazing.
It was a coincidence that he was killed in a tractor trailer accident. He told me when I was younger that this was his and my mother's song because it perfectly described their love. Then he died.
I'm sorry about your dad. It's amazing how love work's, I'm sure your mom loved him very much. If you don't mind me asking, what year did he die? I'm 14 also and my mom left my family and I; due to drugs and alcohol when I was 12. I know how it feels to lose a parent too, your not alone. Stay positive and have hope, that's what's been keeping my head up.
You should get a hell of a lot more thumbs up for that if anybody knows what it's like to haul a truck state-to-state across the freaking United States and back it's frustrating my aunt longtime love since they were 13 and they're 52 that's what he does he's a long-haul trucker
I worked for the railway on the track crews. Used to be gone for 8 days, home for 6 with about 7 hours of driving in between. Every time I had to leave my girlfriend behind and head back to work, I used to play this song as I was driving out. Brought tears to my eye every time. So yeah. You aren't alone

i came from a broken home, raised by disabled mom living off the state and no direction in life and i feel i have made it, but some times i wish i could go back to the struggle and the people that were around me at the time, ill never look down on anyone knowing what its like to struggle. i miss the ladies in my life at this time, only ones who loved me at my worst and only deserve the best regardless of choices made.
I can totally relate! I grew up with a disabled mother, no father. Raised by the government bc my mother couldn't work. I've had many struggles. I'm 37 yrs old and barely growing up. I'm finally understanding what life's really about! So to everyone, its never to late to figure it out! Lastly never give up.
Replace trucker with biker and waitress with bartender and even 2 years after the relationship has ended this song hits home and takes me back to him. I’ll never forget the promise this song was between us when he played it for me the first time. I found peace in this song during many lonely tearful nights wondering where he was.

This song breaks my heart in a way I hope most people can't understand. Otr trucker or just a man doing his best for the woman he loves. You can do everything right and still lose ur soul simply because of ur non-stop desire to give her the world. LOVE is not a choice but be careful who u choose to give ur heart and soul to. Walking away from the person you love is on of the hardest things in this world. But not as hard as learning that ur partner isn't really the soulmate you thought and have to watch them walk away instead of the other way around. As someone who has driven trucks for 40 years, this song really hits home, having made a couple attempts at keeping a relationship alive, only to have it fall apart in a year or two. Finally I gave up, it`s just too hard when you`re on the road all the time, now I`m an old man, coming to the end of my run, with nothing to show for it
This is such a dumb comment that I see almost everywhere. What's next? "Damn this video is so real, they're wearing shoes. Smh" This is from 2003, there were plenty of videos focusing on women, flashy cars, jewelry and guns. Just like there were videos with more substance, with real actors or just silly fun videos. And it was like that in the 90's too, and even the 80's.

Many good memories of riding in my Dads western star dump truck with a 100,000lb excavator on the trailer listening to all the country classics, Hank williams, David allen coe, marshall tucker band ect..My dad has a very very successful construction company and my mom and him made everything from nothing and i couldnt have better parents or a better childhood. I thank this mysterious Universe everyday.
Babe, this is our song. ❤❤❤ Play it every time I go off shore and pray we make it back. ❤❤❤

I agree Sean. most people are too ignorant to understand true meaning. nor have felt pain. so, bravo. you have a heart
" Her Hearts been gone a while, with the truck Drivin Man that took it. keeps her photograph on his rear view mirror, she prays for him every Night... She Hopes that he can Hear Her. " R.I.P Dad. Ill see you at the Gates soon enough
Except trucks don't have a rear view mirror.. Sides and nose only =)
@@dmgfundmgfun7210 seen em in some daycabs but the side mirrors are the rearviews
Read this as it came on in the song.

As someone who has driven trucks for 40 years, this song really hits home, having made a couple attempts at keeping a relationship alive, only to have it fall apart in a year or two. Finally I gave up, it`s just too hard when you`re on the road all the time, now I`m an old man, coming to the end of my run, with nothing to show for it
Prisoner of the highway. Once someone gets in the truck, they spend their lives trying to get out.
Eric your still one of my favorite musicians I'll be playing your songs live on new years brother just my acoustic and harmonica

Hehe... Apparently we have collected a small comune of mid to late eighties kids in this comment :)
87 here and still jamming strong
80 babies stand tall and proud
Damn music videos used to have actual acting. Miss those days
David Pfeifer now its just lambo and drugs with dudes chillin
This is such a dumb comment that I see almost everywhere.
What's next? "Damn this video is so real, they're wearing shoes. Smh"
This is from 2003, there were plenty of videos focusing on women, flashy cars, jewelry and guns. Just like there were videos with more substance, with real actors or just silly fun videos. And it was like that in the 90's too, and even the 80's.
@@mononcle_gervais Shut up
Well, the acting is supposed to be secondary in a music video which is being made for no other reason than to promote the music, and not the video.
Man Aaron Paul is so good at displaying sadness, frustration, and anger. Great actor.
Two ppl living and surviving in true love, even tho they were in a small poor town,he found his perfect home in her,I can relate, ive found mine, forever, nothing will ever change that
I found mine and everytime I think of her I tear up. Gosh I love her
Not sure why this song aint more popular but damn its amazing. 💋
The director and producer of this video are genius. As we peer into these peoples lives the reality is so real. I feel all their feelings.
❤ agree 200% 🙏
The epitome of a truck driver. I know cause my man gone 5 days a week. He nailed it. It is actually a beautiful ballad.
I bought this cd the day it dropped. It didn't leave my cd player for 1 full year. Every track is exceptional. One of the best albums ever produced.

This and What it's like are my two favorite Everlast songs.
The best one ♡
79,80,s here ..I still rock this .45 years later
I thought i had met the love of my life a few years ago..turned out she destroyed me. I found this song and told myself id never let anyone treat me like nothing again. Everlast has helped me out of the darkest areas of my life. For that i will always be thankful.
Then she was NOT the love pf your life. Don't give up on love because of one nasty chick.
You'd be surprised what all in life is only misinterpreted, miscommunicated and improper comprehension. On all sides.
When Jesse Pinkman survived all of Breaking Bad and beyond, only to die in a truck from sleep deprivation... life on the road aint no joke.
Hu... he actually survived this, only to meet Walter White later
Thanks for the spoiler
@@kimberlyeasley2205 to this video? Don’t want spoilers, don’t read comments 🤷♂️ And if you mean for Breaking Bad, that show is so old that spoilers are allowed.
@@faz1991 ----I never watched "El Camino" for some reason. I started to watch it, but just couldn't get into it. Did Jesse really die like that? I wouldn't mind a spoiler lol. Thanks
@@michaelj.beglinjr.2804 Jesse ends starting a new life in Alaska. It was cool but I was disappointed - the movie just felt like an extra three episodes of content, which is how long it was but yknow there are hundreds of episodes of TV shows and movies are far rarer, so that was a bit of a shame.
Everlast is such a fantastic artist. You can't help feeling the feeling in his songs. So full of passion.
No such thing. True beauty cannot be trash. It can be poor, but not trash.
Thank You Island Def Jam - More to Come - Promise...
I've been listening to great music since the late 50s And I can honestly say Everlast definitely has a unique and genuine musical energy!! Well done
I know what you mean. Everlast is great!
I also heard music since the 50s. Love music.

This song means alot to me, to many words to describe what this means from childhood to adulthood!!!
Still kicking ass 💯🤘

God sometimes removes people who are not good for us but He has us in the palm of His hand. Long live Everlast ❤
Such a great song. Really love looking back and seein Aaron Paul in stuff. Great actor. Praise to everlast for this beautiful song.
OMG This is just another awesome song from Everlast!

God I feel so lonely these days. This song makes me less alone
Wow! Following his music forever how does he get life in a nutshell with that voice lyrics and guitar?

This song makes me realize what I am and what I've become. Hats off to all the die hard dads in bad situations

It's weird I never heard this song until I started dating a guy in 2018, he made this our song. Wow. I was a drunk and a crackhead when I first heard Everlast. Liked the music a lot but of course was easily distracted. Now I'm sober except for a little gentlemanly bump now and then. Loving Everlast music like words can't even describe. Seems like every song speaks of my 60 yrs. on this earth. Bless!
