I just realized that Laharl and Flonne were both basically in an arranged marriage. Flonnes an ‘important person’ to the Netherworld and Celestia, so Seraph Lamington couldn’t kill her. ‘Another person of influence’? We all know that was one of Laharl’s parents. They are ‘the knot that binds the two worlds together’? Another word for marriage is ‘tying the knot’. “I am sure that one day you will understand.” Yep, they literally were set up.
ARRRRGHHHHH. Just browsing RUclips and found this.... Haven't played this game in over 10 years to only NOW find out I didn't even get the good ending! ARRRRRGGHHHHHH. Urgh. Gonna have to plug my PS2 back in...
@mastercilander his mother very clearly reincarnates during the game, if anything lamington probably prolonged it so that she can witness her sons growth and be with her husband for a bit before they both go ahead and complete the process.
@projackX No, it does NOT count as an ally kill. To check your ally kills, check the netherworld save/recorder who is in the southern corner of the area with all the shops. Checking the dark record, you can see your amount of ally kills.
If you listen closely, Mid-Boss's voice still has its' goofy tone at the good end of Disgaea for the PS2. But in the PSP version (this one) he sounds more like Laharl's dad when he says farewell. Disgaea (PS2 Version) "Farewell!" Disgaea (PSP Version) "Farewell..."
@ShirtlessGuy88 you probably know this by now but vyers or mid- boss is indeed the reincarnated version of the king after the king fought and defeated Baal
@ShirtlessGuy88 If you explore post game, you do find after beating Baal, the Lord of Terror, that Laharl's father fought and died in a stalemate with Baal which sealed him away until you get to him. The king was amazing, going toe to toe with Baal. Saraph brought him back to life in his current body Vyers.
@ShirtlessGuy88 meh but its most likely. after the baal battle a mysterious voice mentions laharl's father saying that krichevskoy battled against baal and in the game it mentions when laharls dad comes back etna described him looking almost exhausted. Etna's diary states that he died after stopping Baal, the Legendary Tyrant, who tried to conquer the Netherworld. He was able to stop Baal, but not without a cost of him being fatally weakened.
@akadewboy To be more specific, don't kill your allies with your own special attacks like Winged Slayer, although hitting them without killing your allies is fine. You can check if and how many allies you've killed in the Save Shop(the NPC that looks like a Male Cleric/Healer)
@iluvmypuddycat that's a good thing. it means you can recruit Plenair earlier. you can't recruit her until after you see one of the endings, no matter which one it is. and her evasion capabilities are even higher than the tier 6 ninja, AND she does NOT evade healing spells like the ninjas do. her only real downside is that she can't lift things.
@creepingpuppet Sounds like you're asking me to choose between a small variety of excellent Japanese voice actors, and a large variety of decent-to-horrible English voice actors. But that fails. not because the English can't compete with the Japanese (okay, it is that, too), but because you simply haven't paid enough attention to the Japanese voice actors. I can easily recall a huge variety of Japanese voice actors right off the top of my head, at least 3 times more than what we have in English
You have to make sure that you don't kill your own allies with your own guys. It's alright if the enemies kill them, just don't accidentally use something like Winged Slayer on your own guys.
No, I don't think you get me, Laharl Etna and Flonne lied about being his parents. They didn't actully have the kid. It was one of the few endings of the game. It was a gag ending where Laharl Etna and Flonne tried to get the main character positions again. If you see other endings you'll learn Laharl isn't Mao's Dad, nor is Flonne/Etna the mother.
@creepingpuppet I see your point. Although my opinion differs greatly in that regard, I won't hesitate to mention that the Japanese have had a lot more success than the English on the matter. Our individual thoughts about it doesn't mean too much, since it is the general opinions of the masses that ultimately determine which path the countries will point their voice actors to. That is to say, what is more popular. An individual opinion has too much variety for the countries to meet expectations.
Disgaea Infinite is different from the Prinny series. I dunno if I'd put it in the Disgaea time line, but I can't really say since I haven't exactly played the game I just know a little bit of info about it here and there so yeah lol
Finished this game first time few weeks ago, I wanted to play it without looking on any spoilers so in the end... I had one Ally kill!! If i had know how to get this I would've been a bit more careful with my AoE skills...
@Gizoid007 True. But when someone (like me and who knows how many other people) gets used to Japan's high voice acting standard, it makes anything less seem like crap, whether it is or not. And most of the time, our criticism is justified.
@ganonslayer01 You can't be serious. Etna had a crush on Laharl's dad. and this was before Laharl's Mom ever came to the Netherworld. I also seem to recall that Laharl's father picked her up from living on the streets. So, you're idea falls flat. But imagining that situation is hilarious. Etna: "I'm your older sister, so I'll have you treat me like one!", she says after giving Laharl an axe-kick. Hahaha!!
O.M.G. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT, IN THE ANIME VERSION OF DISGAEA, LAHARL, SACRIFICED HIS LIFE FOR FLONNE, NOONE STOPPED HIM, BUT IN THIS ONE, EVERYONE SURVIVES, EVEN THE BAD ANGEL, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT U GUYS BUT I'M GONNA WATCH THIS ANIME FROM NOW ON. AND DISGAEA 2 ALSO
Since the series is established to take place in a multiverse, all of them are technically canon. Although, the good ending is the one that takes place in the same continuity as all the other main games, so you're both wrong and right.
Vyers/Mid-boss is laharl's father a.k.a king krichevskoy he died and was reincarnated as vyers 4.06 that's laharl's mother =D and if you see the manga mid boss said 'he is quite a dutiful son" which shows he's the father of laharl
no its canon i checked it takes place lots of years after disgea 1 and laharl was somehow assasinated and someone does not want him to die so if you can keep him alive then the spirit will let you be reincarnated (you are a prinny), and in the good ending and the true one laharl lives (true ending is just the good one but with something extra added onto the end)
Oh, that's just fucking great. After 40 hours, I get the normal ending for throwing a fucking Prinny in the very beginning. I hadn't even got the idea to do that if they hadn't mentioned it in the tutorial!
That was supposed to be the original ending as several games have been created by that anime ending, the game just provided a happier ending only , the anime ending was still great.
if the anime had the bad ending does that mean there has been a decision that the bad ending is the normal or real ending? i'm curious because do the other games connect to this one in anyway?
nothing really happens u just die and ur body goes to mother nature... unless ur religious then u can trow in ur thoughts but im just basing my thoughts to science!!!!!!!!!!
Well... they made him into a sort of gag character after this game.... If you see him in the others, it doen't make sense as it has a major charactor regression... I'm guessing it's just for laughs and to let the main character of the first Disgaea get some screen time...
@Gizoid007 The voice acting standard is way too low in America. Sure there are some english voice actors that are quite good, but when certain people do it, or in certains situations, the quality of the voice acting shows through as poor. Example: Laharl's maniacal laugh. In the English version, it sounds like an arrogant kid that just beat his friends in a board game. In the Japanese version, it actually sounds evil (whether it's very evil, or just a little is a matter of opinion).
I'm here because I accidentally killed one of my allies at some point and it's too time consuming to play through a second time to see the good ending. But anyway, having played the game with Japanese dialog I must say the English voice actors sound TERRIBLE.
nay, check the Bad ending, anime went with that one, and following said bad ending are the prinnies spin off games, DD2 takes after D1 Good ending and most of the games do
I just realized that Laharl and Flonne were both basically in an arranged marriage.
“I am sure that one day you will understand.”
Yep, they literally were set up.
There is strong Laharl x Flonne implications in this ending - especially with what Mid Boss said!!!
ARRRRGHHHHH. Just browsing RUclips and found this.... Haven't played this game in over 10 years to only NOW find out I didn't even get the good ending! ARRRRRGGHHHHHH. Urgh. Gonna have to plug my PS2 back in...
I wish the anime was at least half as good as the game was...
But hell, now we have Disgaea D2 and it's fucking awesome!!
Damn! I always accidentally get the normal ending. I don't even remember killing anyone!!!D:
I only get this ending i do not know how to get the bad ending...
@@justincando1 Killing allies (Throwing prinnies count as killing them too, but only in Disgaea 1)
What bugs me in the scene is..were are the spirits going...its already heaven.
stormweaver82 Errr... Another part of heaven, maybe?
McCelestia.
stormweaver82 to reincarnate
@mastercilander his mother very clearly reincarnates during the game, if anything lamington probably prolonged it so that she can witness her sons growth and be with her husband for a bit before they both go ahead and complete the process.
wanna know what's worse? having a ninja evade 4 heal spells....I mean...FUCK.
The games came first. It was the anime that messed up the game's ending.
at 4:08 you will have Laharls Mother and Father on Screen
That moment when you accidentally kill an ally right at the very end...(got item god ending because I mismanaged my party placement ;_; )
@projackX
No, it does NOT count as an ally kill.
To check your ally kills, check the netherworld save/recorder who is in the southern corner of the area with all the shops. Checking the dark record, you can see your amount of ally kills.
I got this ending and didn't even know why....
In my mind I remember killing my allies about... 20 times, I think...
But hey, happy ending
Same. I could have swore I killed some allies. When I played the remake I didn't get this ending but my first time on PSP I did lol.
Davil may cry
I've had enough of this. Its not like this will bring her back.. besides... if that love freak was here she would have stopped me anyway.
If you listen closely, Mid-Boss's voice still has its' goofy tone at the good end of Disgaea for the PS2. But in the PSP version (this one) he sounds more like Laharl's dad when he says farewell.
Disgaea (PS2 Version)
"Farewell!"
Disgaea (PSP Version)
"Farewell..."
@ShirtlessGuy88 you probably know this by now but vyers or mid- boss is indeed the reincarnated version of the king after the king fought and defeated Baal
So thats why flonne is red in later games
did u notice when midboss said farewell his voice changed to king krichveskoy's?? thats coz midboss IS king krichveskoy
@IsaSkyLimit she does, laharl etna and flonne(fallen angel) are extra charicters in disgaea 2 and 3 and she has a diffrent lvl 50 move to this one
@projackX
Fortunately, no; aparently, the game counts the prinny explosion as an attack, not as an ally kill.

Laharl and Enta were only Joking. Besides, Mao is a full demon, and Laharl is half demon. If Mao was Laharl's son, he would have soften earlier.
@iluvmypuddycat that's a good thing. it means you can recruit Plenair earlier. you can't recruit her until after you see one of the endings, no matter which one it is. and her evasion capabilities are even higher than the tier 6 ninja, AND she does NOT evade healing spells like the ninjas do. her only real downside is that she can't lift things.
they should really re-make the anime move like the game
"laharl,flonne,-you are the two strings that bring the netherworld and celestia together" oh hahahahaha
@TheTruthOfPerfection Well, Laharl is a kid. And, the game was supposed to have funny moments in it, so I really thought it fit.
Disgaea D2 - Sequel to Disgaea (1)((Yes, as in the original cast, as in the video you are watching)) has a release date. Google it!
@ShirtlessGuy88 it was most likely overlord baal battle for the first theory.
Jennifers "harley..." broke the tension for me. I laughed like crap.
Yes the Prinny series takes place in the Bad ending of this game (yes Prinny Laharl is in the Prinny games on PSP as well as Etna and Flonne)
@0608Maka
No.That doesnt make sense.
Now ETNA on the other hand...
7:29 if that movie was really to be released, i would go see it the day it came out.
The one person that disliked this was Mao, he hates the love D:
Disgaea Infinite is different from the Prinny series. I dunno if I'd put it in the Disgaea time line, but I can't really say since I haven't exactly played the game I just know a little bit of info about it here and there so yeah lol

@anyuwant1 Hes a reincarnation of Laharls dad (Dunno how to spell his name)
No one has uploaded jpn track versions, eh
@Gizoid007 True.
But when someone (like me and who knows how many other people)
gets used to Japan's high voice acting standard, it makes anything less seem like crap, whether it is or not.
And most of the time, our criticism is justified.
I'm so sad and angry i killed one of my Ally by accident just one single time and now I have the bad ending why this is so cruel
yay, a version that includes the end credit scenes
@TheTruthOfPerfection Oh, lol. I reset the game and tried again. I've played it through a couple of times, though, and Plenair is a good fighter.
Can u go back another time and u killed an item god can u get the good ending with out the item god and get the good ending.
Hahaha!!
-_-;
uh, by the ally kill does that mean just laharl or ANYONE??
(killed an ally practicing star magic)
saddly it took me a while to notice that mid-boss was laharls dad xD im slow
@MetalGearRexPilot ok...I get it, i dont know anything about this game.
@TheTruthOfPerfection
I was kidding XD.
However, they could have gone back in time....
Never expect the expected in Disgaea.
king kercheskoy was vyers well I guess it does make sense that his spirit would be weaker then his real body
That data is always wiped clean in order for you to obtain new endings.
AND DISGAEA 2 ALSO

it is hinted in the game that Mid-Boss is his father reincarnated from the king to Vyres
Vyers/Mid-boss is laharl's father a.k.a king krichevskoy he died and was reincarnated as vyers 4.06 that's laharl's mother =D and if you see the manga mid boss said 'he is quite a dutiful son" which shows he's the father of laharl
Vyer's/ Midboss is Laharl's Father, such a great game and a great ending!
ah its because i have seen the infinite series and in the true ending flonne is a fallen angel still and laharl never died
Dunno if anyone already posed this question, but... does tossing prinnies count towards your "partner kill" total?
Nope
Sweet, then I'm on the right track!
no its canon i checked it takes place lots of years after disgea 1 and laharl was somehow assasinated and someone does not want him to die so if you can keep him alive then the spirit will let you be reincarnated (you are a prinny), and in the good ending and the true one laharl lives (true ending is just the good one but with something extra added onto the end)
oh so i cant kill my allies to get this? i always use them as sacrifice or as a blockade then kill them with the enemy -.-
You can't kill your allies with your attacks. They can still be killed by enemies.
man i didnt know there was good and bad before i think i killed my allies by mistake without knowing about how the endings work
That's not how you use question marks.
I don't think it's the case, but does it count as a team kill if you toss a Prinny?
Wow Laharl changed alot, he became so awesome. Go Laharl!
omg i didnt know dark adonis was laharls father. and the person next to him is his mother lol.
Oh, that's just fucking great.
After 40 hours, I get the normal ending for throwing a fucking Prinny in the very beginning. I hadn't even got the idea to do that if they hadn't mentioned it in the tutorial!
DOES THROW a prinny or if an enemy kills one of your characters counts as ally kill ?
mid-boss is lahar's mother ^^
Even when he's assassinated in Disgaea Infinte, Laharl didn't die though.
And the prinny's motivation is because he don't want his salary being cut.
Like the whole game or just that battle
makes me want to play Disgaea again
That was supposed to be the original ending as several games have been created by that anime ending, the game just provided a happier ending only , the anime ending was still great.
then why is flonne fallen angel in disgea infinite or is that not the same game?
@anyuwant1 it is an actually fan theroy so your not wrong
if the anime had the bad ending does that mean there has been a decision that the bad ending is the normal or real ending? i'm curious because do the other games connect to this one in anyway?
To the totally oblivious people who don't realize. Vyers is the king
Love the music!!
no blood over body of lamington..?
acually, the anime follows the canon ending, if we consider the events of P:CIRBTHD
Is Throwing a prinny count as "Killing an Allie"?
Seraph can change Flonne back even when lying on his face xD
2:45 larharl: What the...??
me:you miss the h...nah i just shut up ...
ugh i wanted to get this ending but apparently throwing the prinnys in the tutorial cause etna said they explode counts as an ally kill :(
No it doesn't
At least on the PC port
it does when it blows up your own units. i was playing on a playstation emulator not the pc version which is the psp port.
nerver killed any allies? whaaat? I throw prinnies so they explode for god's sake!
You can also say he wasn't TRYING to win at all.
U mean to get dat ending u never kill any ally in the whole game?
my question is whats after you die as a spirit do u just sleep or do u get rebirth or do you disappear?
well no one is alive to say so what happends after death
nothing really happens u just die and ur body goes to mother nature... unless ur religious then u can trow in ur thoughts but im just basing my thoughts to science!!!!!!!!!!
hey anyyone has a apineon but im not religious so i guess i agree with you but we won't find out till we die
Well... they made him into a sort of gag character after this game.... If you see him in the others, it doen't make sense as it has a major charactor regression... I'm guessing it's just for laughs and to let the main character of the first Disgaea get some screen time...

In the Japanese version, it actually sounds evil (whether it's very evil, or just a little is a matter of opinion).
whos the green prinny?
Disgaea 1 still has the simple yet cute ending of all disgaea......
Maybe it's just me...
Story wise disgaea one is the best.
uhmmm what the hell was Etna doing with those other kids??? O_o
WTF! laharl´s mother was a prinny, his father mid-boss whats next flonne is his sister??? o.O
I'm here because I accidentally killed one of my allies at some point and it's too time consuming to play through a second time to see the good ending. But anyway, having played the game with Japanese dialog I must say the English voice actors sound TERRIBLE.
This is most Likely the same ending on the anime except mid boss and those heros weren't there
nay, check the Bad ending, anime went with that one, and following said bad ending are the prinnies spin off games, DD2 takes after D1 Good ending and most of the games do
@kjelfalconer it didnt say that he would blow up T.T like the rest of them
