  • Marvin Musquin and Jason Anderson have both experienced big disappointment on the track and though they work closely together, on race days they are true rivals.

      Yea it's crazy. That's why most pro's ride at their own(sometimes multiple)tracks back east. Property is cheap in the south and parts of Florida, at least compared to SoCal.

      Yeah for sure. You could drop a massive bet on whoever is coming second in the championship when it's nearly impossible for them to win, then pay someone to go out on the practice day to take out the championship leader.

    public tracks are dangerous for everyone but more so for pros I think. while most guys are out there just to have fun the pros are there working setting lap times. when you look past that everyone is riding dirtbikes the public and the pros are doing two completely different things out there. injuries happen on private tracks too but public tracks seem like an unnecessary risk. tbh i dont like being on the track when my local top riders are on it. the skill gap is too huge, i feel like a car doing 30miles/hr on the freeway which isnt safe for anyone.

    • @amacoutdoors2076
      @amacoutdoors2076 6 лет назад +1

      BC Beast Yeah that totally makes sense, my comment earlier was more about the attitude about it and all the blame being on the other guy. I think they could still do public tracks but maybe chill out a bit and not freak out about hitting the perfect heart rate all the time, I know they are trying to do the best training though so I see their concerns.

    • @bryceowen3114
      @bryceowen3114 6 лет назад +6

      Honestly its not that bad, I used to go to Milestone every Wednesday and everyone would be out there getting ready for outdoors and as long as you hold your line and dont freak out its not a big deal at all....

    • @jdc9128
      @jdc9128 6 лет назад +2

      BC Beast do the tracks in America not have classes? Here in the uk you get an expert,intermediate and novice class , the expert class is no where near pro level but they are good enough riders not to really get in the way

    • @LeftThumbBreak
      @LeftThumbBreak 6 лет назад +3

      Yes, there are classes but open practice is open unlike road racing where even practice is separated. I understand pro's or even serious amateurs not liking it so open but that really is what's nice about motocross and dirt bike riding in general is the fact that it is informal, open and fun. As Baker said, they really should just rent the track.

    • @shmirdonkin
      @shmirdonkin 6 лет назад +2

      Honestly I look at it completely differently. I don't think the pros have any business going to a track like milestone and using it as their training ground. I especially don't think baker should be out there complaining about a young guy learning. It's called a practice track for a reason! He at least fesses up. Yes you could have rented the track out for the day. When you make millions of dollars a year you probably should. If you're not paying for exclusive time on the track, you need to accept that much slower riders are going to be on it with you.

  • @amacoutdoors2076
    @amacoutdoors2076 6 лет назад +33

    Awesome show, but gotta say not a huge fan of those comments about the pros and public on the same track and blaming the other rider for Anderson's crash. I heard that it was more Anderson fault because they were off the track going around a downed rider and that Anderson was going too fast and made an unpredictability turn on the other guy. Can't say for sure though. I totally understand where the team is coming from but they need to respect who makes it even possible for them to get paid to race (the fans and other fellow riders). Acting like you own the place and everything should be exclusive to you is kinda an insult to the rest of us. Again understand the thinking but they should be careful with that.

    • @KomandeR6_
      @KomandeR6_ 6 лет назад +1

      I think you are misinterpreting that.. I think that their comments are just emphasizing the danger for pros to take such risks.. for you to base your opinion on "what you heard" and to demand respect as if you (or we) cut their check is lame... stop getting your feelers hurt and insulted lol... shit happens, and then you flush it... jmo

    • @arturcuryllo5832

      VERY. WELL. SAID. BRO. We, all of the average-non-pro riders and fans, pay Anderson's, and indirectly, Aldon's salary, so please don't act like I need to pack up my $hit and go home when you show up at the track. It would be like my local Police telling me not to use the roads, because I might occasionally inconvenience a squad car when they are going to the scene with sirens on. I pay for the roads AND the cops' salary via taxes. Same goes for riding dirt: I pay the track fees and I pay for Anderson's salary when I buy a Husky ...and a portion of it goes to Aldon. Period.

    It’s doubtful the tracks will ever change. Reason is Pro’s being at their tracks bring more people and money. You have to as a Pro understand. Most Pros were the same when they were kids. The solution is allow both to ride 30 mins together, but then shut down for Pro’s only for like an 1 hr. Open track back up an 1hr off and 1hr. It’s win win for everyone, and safer for both sides. But keep at least 1 sport real. MX has always allowed fans close up and personal unlike the rest.

    I will say this to Marvin I saw some supercross footage of a race in France,andcisaw this rider who was absolutely amazing.....didn't know who he was riding number 25 bike,I think I know who that rider is now,it was some old footage and I had just started back watching the euro races so I didn't really know who was who,Marv keep at it Eli is no box of chocolates so do not be upset with yourself,he fitness and his strength is so,don't let yourself get distracted mentally at all,Jason Anderson on the Supercross title i am impressed but I saw it coming Jason's riding was great and his starts were what made me start believing he was gonna win it....I'm not gonna say oh I new he was gonna win,but every time I watched the SX RACES Jason got great starts and he got in position and got out to lead quickly and if he didn't he pushed as hard as he could and stayed up front and on podium every time,then he started getting seconds when he didn't get first and then I said to myself,self he gonna ride smart and win this SX TITLE ON a husky for god sake it really gonna happen wow,and it did great work Jason for holding it together,I been racing superbike and motocross for 40 years and the pressure is the biggest thing that riders have to deal with,getting the points lead in SX must have been a little crazy for Jason but he pulled it off good for Husky I always heard they were great bikes a little before my time I started riding in 1977 or 78 ish,but good work....Marvin be cool man no sweat mellow mellow easy on Marvin don't beat yourself up,it don't help,your riding freaking awsum be cool...

    Is it an issue of pros having to deal with amateurs because "they might hurt an ankle and be out a season" OR is it the fact that a kid, or another rider could be seriously injured by someone like JA doing 60 mph around the track. A lot of amateurs out there will probably be used to dealing with pros on the tracks, but someone who doesnt have that experience won't know what to do to get out of the way when Eli Tomac comes bombing around the outside of you like a mad man

      Just earlier today TWMX released GoPro from AP23 and he was going so fast it was scary. Not because of the speed itself, but because he's doing all this while dodging and weaving through 9 year olds on 50s. They need to either BUILD private tracks for these pros or rent the tracks out privately.

Great potential and has the capability. Although i am a ET3 fan i still would like to see anderson up therer. Just goes to show , u dont need the Baker Factory to win!! I also am not sure how under aldens care that broc tickle ended up testing positive for a substance forbidden under FIM AND AMA. rules and regulations have tremendously changed since i was in the sport.. i truly hope that this sport isnt going to the bidder with the highest money payout. mehhh, aldon doesn't pay the riders anything. The riders used to pay aldon a ton, now i believe given his exclusive ktm/husq contract that the ktm factory team has picked up the tab for all of their riders to be trained by him. That said the factory team ivesting millions/ hundreds of thousands of dollars may want to protect their investment from brandon out the going full Larry Enticer and just straight start sending it......off berms, bowl turns, braking bumps, hell whatever is around.

      I'm not sure if you watch SX, but it always come down to consistency. That's why Tomac hasn't won every year. He is the fastest guy out there but always crashes out. I think Anderson has it right, you are supposed to enjoy what you are doing as much as you can. They risk their lives everyday they ride, and you can't even have a beer once in a while?

    • @thebordenasylum7726
      @thebordenasylum7726 6 лет назад

      Anderson has the attitude of "one and done". He deserves a break just because he finally half-heartedly won the title in his 4th 450 season (without winning but a race or 2)? There are a few guys above him that work 10x harder and are more deserving. He can have a beer, and some R&R but he was in no hurry to get back on the bike. Proof by Aldon being frustrated with him during practice because "he wasn't feeling it". We already knew that Ando was completely toasted after SX season. But in his mind he's already achieved his life goal. What more is there? We know he will never be an outdoor champ so why not just mail it in for the rest of his career? I'd probably be the same way and want to enjoy my millions before I broke my neck. ET is an anomaly. As Matthes is always saying, ET should be working on his 4th 450 championship. Only 1 rider in AMA history has gotten the most wins in a season without winning the title and that was Damon Bradshaw. Until Tomac tied and beat his record not once, but twice in back to back seasons. The only titles ET straight up lost because he wasn't the fastest was 2016 outdoors and 2015 SX. The rest of the titles theoretically should be his, but as you said he can't keep off the ground.
