Purchased one from Miracle Scrapers last year. I had the same experience. A light frost it did ok, but anything heavier and it became worthless. The plastic was also soft and it's edge deformed rather quickly.
This is not the ORIGINAL scraper. We have been selling the SCRAPE-A-ROUND ice scraper made in Sandy Utah for 13 years. They are now being copied in China, Korea, and other places. He was not using it right on the ice. After you use the small end to score the ice, you turn it over and use the large end. We scraped out Van all the way around in 20 minutes on an 1 3/4 inch ice. They work great
Thanks for the honest review. I'd thought those were garbage. I live in sask. I need a serious scraper sometimes esp when I wake up at -40°C or F (same temperature) with a half inch of freezing rain on the windows.
I'm glad you had a real good hard frozen frost and ice that was stuck hard to the glass. That was the exact test I was hoping to see. Thanks for helping everyone avoid the scam. 👍🏻
I also bought one and had the same experience as you. I watched the videos and saw how the ice and snow came off the cars like butter. Then I realized they must have warmed the cars before hand and so the windows were warm and allowed the ice to break away quite easily.
I live in Finland and we definitely have to fight with tightly attached ice on the windscreen. This doubted this product would be a silver bullet for that and your video confirmed it. Thanks for saving some effort and money.
It's bizarre how you post videos of stuff that I am about to buy (and that helps me decide whether to buy/not buy it). I was just about to get this, but after seeing your review I dont think I will. I will be commenting in a couple of your old videos shortly to take a feedback about those specific products.(highway pegs and heated grips). Thanks for all these videos!
super happy that the videos are helping you to make decisions as to whether to buy things or not. Im pulled into a lot of the advertising as well and am happy to buy things to help others make their decisions based on a real review. Look forward to reading your comments.
Ya, me too. And I knew I could trust a Canadian when it comes to screwing I've. I was hoping that this scraper would come with a razer edge or something, but it looks like it's just a funnel without even a sharp edge.
Saw an ad on the RUclipss, thought I needed this as winter is coming (well, actually it's already here). Glad I watched your video, back to the basics I suppose.
I saw it on an online advert and said to my partner that's not possible to do that. I had to look on RUclips to reassure me that I was right. Thanks for the video. Very helpful.
Haha, I've seen these advertised all over the interwebs. First time I saw it, I laughed and figured it wouldn't work all that well, very nice to see it in a real world test. It certainly wouldn't handle the garbage weather we get in the Atlantic provinces in the winter. Thank you for that.
HA! Your demonstration showed just what I thought would happen. Not only does it not take off REAL ice and snow good enough, but it's to short. Thanks for the demo!!
Great Demo. My wife just showed me the Facebook thing on the Instascraper. She thought it was the greatest, told her it was just a fancy funnel. Showed her your video. Thanks for proving me right.
The first thing I do before clearing off my car is to start the engine with the heat🔥turn all the way up. It's nice and toasty in just minutes and helps to clear the windows in no time. 😉
Thank you, I had this scrapper in my cart and I thought I should see if this even works, then I found your cool video! You just saved me seven dollars.
So I bought one of these before I saw this video. Do I use it, yes, do I think its worth its money... Eh yes... They sell them for $2 CAD on eBay from China. I live in BC so our winters arent typically nearly as bad as Ontario and the ice doesn't get as thick on the windows, but what I like about the video is that it shows an actual every day guy try this in an actual situation. A great tip is go out to Canadian Tire or Amazon or something and pick up a bottle of Rain X, apply it to the windshield before the rain/snow hits and that ice build up will come off like butter. A little goes a long way, I reapply it every month while in the winter season
Luke Tochkin rain x is great. I use it on all my cars and work trucks. It sucks when I get in a car that doesn’t have it on the windows. I even put it on the side windows and it makes life so much better in the rain.
@@TWISTEDHEART444 I don't personally think its worth it. Any modern car will come with one of those brush stick/ice scraper things and that will work just fine. This thing isn't going to reinvent the wheel, you're still going to have to put some elbow grease into it
💕 So glad I decided to scope out a couple of reviews before putting my order in !! It kept occuring to me that this thing looks like the funnels I have !! lol Anyway, appreciate you saving me the $10 plus $ ! (Plus I was going to order an extra for my son !) 💸💸💸 I would've watched my money fly away ! Thanks !! 😂👋🏼
Your conclusions was exactly what i figured when watching the commercials. The test shown here is the real deal. I am sure it would work just fine if you have som light frost and snow on the windshield and above freezing temps. Thanks from Sweden!
Thank you!!!!! This is something I really wanted to know. I've been looking at them. I was going to order a bunch for Christmas presents. Thank you for helping me save my money.
so hard now a days to trust the ads that we see online. Nice to see a video like this that actually tests it in a real world scenario so we can actually see how it does. Definitely won't be getting one of these. Will stick with my standard scraper!
Thanks for this video! 👍🏻If it's not good in Canada then it's no good here in Sweden either since our climates are pretty similar. My rectangular shaped plastic ice scraper plus using gloves still do the work well in just a few minutes no matter the temperature. 😁 Take care !
First time here. This was the first review among many about this ice scraper. I'd been seeing the adverts on Pinterest and decided to check a real video review. So glad I didn't buy it! 😁 EBay has buyers with different reviews. Many thanks for the video. ❤️
Best scrapers I've ever used here in the great white north had a brass blade. Never hurt the glass but for whatever reason I can't find them anywhere. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. My guess is the ad car had been running for quite a while.
Greetings from new Hampshire. Great video, I just bought an 18 Chevrolet Silverado with remote start. Push the button 1o minutes later Truck is warm and no ice on any of the glass
Thank you! I bought one of the round scrapers and I couldn’t understand why all the videos on RUclips made it look so good and so easy but when I tried it in the UK just with thin ice it didn’t work!
So glad I don't have to deal with this where I live. If I did I'd probably install an instant water heater near a hose and spray my car down with hot water. As long as the hose is fully or mostly emptied everytime of course...
Haha! You've got to love the faithful reviewers on RUclips. It's obvious in the advertisement, they warmed up the inside of the vehicle before they showed the removal.
Great review! I too saw the video on Facebook and ordered 5, 1 for me and 4 for Christmas presents for family. I think I ended up with Chinese manufactured copies. They took over a month to be delivered (so I missed giving them out for presents). They finally arrived, I couldn’t wait to go out and clear the frost the next morning, but guess what?… Just the same as you show here, they do not scrape the frost off!! Waste of time, I prefer the standard ones. I’d say this is a spot on review 👍🏻
The videos advertising this cone definitely don't deal with un-defrosted ice. I'd imagine it would work well if you leave your car running for 15 minutes and melting that layer of ice, but we don't got time for that when we're getting ready for work in the morning.
Plus that isnt gonna help get snow off of your roof or anywhere else that you need to reach. Its only probably useful in climates that barely get cold enough to produce snow or frost.
I wish it were illegal in the states to drive with snow all over the car. I have seen some people who run the wipers and didn't do anything else. Every window and light was covered with snow.
honest review - most videos show a thinner layer of ice that you could scrape off easily with any tool - I will stick with the traditional ice scraper here in New England
I do not mean to undermine you, but I have used this scraper for a while now, and it actually does work. I use the spiked part to basically clear off a bit of the ice, to make a "starting point" for the funnel part. Then, when I use the funnel part to scrape at the edge I created using the spiked part, it actually works perfectly fine. Although admittedly, I am not from Canada and I probably haven't had any sheets of ice as thick as the ones you have there; it does a really good job on thin to medium thickness ice.. :)
well, we just had an actual ice storm last night (freezing rain for over 3 hours). woke up with a car that is completely covered in ice. This device is useless. If you get little to no actual ice it may work but at that point just run your defrost on your car for a couple of minutes. I don't want to have to carry an actual ace scraper plus this for days that I have a wee little bit of ice. An ice scraper needs to work for all levels of ice which includes ice that can be a full half-inch thick.
I lost my scraper once and I used a CD. It worked great, it's super flexible and thin so it gets right under the ice. Obviously, a scraper is better for snow because a CD has no brush but for frost and thin ice, a CD is the best scraper I have used
Thanks for the review. I was hyped about it until I realize it really was a cone. I thought there would be some sort of razor blades at the bottom to make the ice come off so easily.
Iv used for 2 winter's (new Hampshire) yes it works, and 80% of the time far faster then the classic scrapper...even on ice build up. Not sure why yours failed but for 5.00 iv found it very worth the price. And considering its size very easy. It's not for heavy snow..so still need a brush , but my experiences no not replicate yours...so either your weaker then my wife (who works 3rd shift and has to clean off her own car) or you just got a bad product I'm not sure. When my wife bought these I laughed at her purchase but first frost proved me wrong .
It’s not meant to be a snow brush, that’s why it’s called an ice scraper. I have had one for a while & it works great on the Icy windows (in Buffalo NY anyhow) you have to use it right for it to work. You use the big side to clean as much as possible then the leftover little patches with the scraper side real quick & flip it to the big side for one last wipe of the windows. You made it look way more difficult than it really is.
Has anyone else tried this thing? I definitely wouldn’t buy it again.

It's the equivalent of rubbing a funnel on your car.
Are you in Ottawa?

When a Canadian tells me something isn't good for ice and snow, I am believing him.
👍🏻
Muhahah LOL!!!!
Oh, please. 🙄
Thank you! You saved me from making a mistake purchasing it!
carlo vinicio yeah waste of money as far as I’m concerned.
Thanks mate saved me a few quid
deanj6969 glad that The video helped.
Agreed! Thank you for the review
carlo vinicio Agree! I was about to make the same mistake.
I'm glad you had a real good hard frozen frost and ice that was stuck hard to the glass. That was the exact test I was hoping to see. Thanks for helping everyone avoid the scam. 👍🏻
Glad you found it helpful. thanks for the comment.
100% as I thought, Pretty crap !!
They should sell them in pairs, you could wear one on your head while you rub the ice with the other.
😭😭😭😭🤡
Are we not men, we are Devo.
😂😂😂
Glad to see a Canadian test it. I need a new scraper and was looking around - will just stick with a traditional style one.
Yup. Much better investment
I also bought one and had the same experience as you. I watched the videos and saw how the ice and snow came off the cars like butter. Then I realized they must have warmed the cars before hand and so the windows were warm and allowed the ice to break away quite easily.
Excellent review. Saw the ad on FB and came right here to check it out. You saved me a few dollars. Thank you
I live in Finland and we definitely have to fight with tightly attached ice on the windscreen. This doubted this product would be a silver bullet for that and your video confirmed it. Thanks for saving some effort and money.

Does it scratch the windscreen

yeah, for any of us that experience real cold winters this just doesn't work.
HA! Your demonstration showed just what I thought would happen. Not only does it not take off REAL ice and snow good enough, but it's to short. Thanks for the demo!!
I was considering this until seeing ur review. Thx man! Saved me $
Most welcome 🙏🏻
Great Demo. My wife just showed me the Facebook thing on the Instascraper. She thought it was the greatest, told her it was just a fancy funnel. Showed her your video. Thanks for proving me right.
Just saved me from handing out some embarrassingly useless Christmas presents. Thx dude.
Most welcome.
Thanks for enduring the cold to show us whether this was worth it man. You really earned this view and upvote.
I appreciate that!
The first thing I do before clearing off my car is to start the engine with the heat🔥turn all the way up. It's nice and toasty in just minutes and helps to clear the windows in no time. 😉
That is also my method.
using heat makes the engine warm up take a lot longer
Just saw the ad on Facebook, I always look things up before buying. Thanks, saving my money.
Thank you, I had this scrapper in my cart and I thought I should see if this even works, then I found your cool video! You just saved me seven dollars.

Thank you SO much for the demo! I am glad I saw this. I am getting a scraper like yours!

D Lee glad it was useful and that you can find somewhere else to spend that $10. 👍🏻
You Sir are my new Walmart...you just saved me money...thank you!
was on the verge of purchasing one...glad I took the time to watch this video
Yeah if you get real ice then this is pretty much useless.
I appreciate your video, I almost fell for the ads for the cone. Many thanks
Your conclusions was exactly what i figured when watching the commercials. The test shown here is the real deal. I am sure it would work just fine if you have som light frost and snow on the windshield and above freezing temps. Thanks from Sweden!
Thanks. Completely agree. For light frost it could function. But nothing more.
Thank you for saving me from making a horrible purchase
Most welcome! Glad the video was helpful.
Thank you!!!!! This is something I really wanted to know. I've been looking at them. I was going to order a bunch for Christmas presents. Thank you for helping me save my money.
Thanks for making this video! I just saw an video advertising the product and was very suspicious since there was no heavy snow in their videos.
Beef Stew most welcome 🙏
Doing God's work man. I don't buy anything until I see someone actually use it. A bit thank you from a fellow Canadian.
Glad I watched this before buying today on Cyber Monday. Thanks for the demo and saving me time/money.
you have literally saved us thousands of dollars 95k viewers X $5 = $475000 saved !! BRAVO!!!
so hard now a days to trust the ads that we see online. Nice to see a video like this that actually tests it in a real world scenario so we can actually see how it does. Definitely won't be getting one of these. Will stick with my standard scraper!
Mary Toope well we all cross our fingers and hope that the ads are real. Some times they are and some times they stretch the truth.
Great review, this guy understands how stuff works.
Thanks 🙏
Thanks for helping so many people not make the mistake of ordering one!
I was going to buy a few as Xmas stockers glad you made this video THANK YOU 🙏👍👍
Boy, am I glad I watched this video. Thank you very much.
Great test, thanks for saving me the time of chucking a cone scraper in the garbage.
The advertisement worked great, in reality, thanks for saving me some money.

I'm definitely not using any plastic on my paint, nope!!
Greetings from Duluth, MN! You just saved me 10 bucks! Thanks!

They have one like this on the American Amazon called "the better ice scraper"
Thank you mate, I was going to buy it, came on to see a quick review....you saved me a few minutes and a few bucks.
Executive summary: No, it’s absolutely not worth the price.
You’re welcome.
Thanks. Now I wish I could get my 7 minutes back.
Jesus christ these people waffle on so badly. Thank you for this
Greetings from new Hampshire. Great video, I just bought an 18 Chevrolet Silverado with remote start. Push the button
1o minutes later
Truck is warm and no ice on any of the glass
Thank you! I bought one of the round scrapers and I couldn’t understand why all the videos on RUclips made it look so good and so easy but when I tried it in the UK just with thin ice it didn’t work!
Im so glad I chose to watch a review. I should send you the $8.99🤦🏽😂😂
Autumn Daye ok! 😊
Glad I watched this first. I had been saying that it didn't look like they were doing anything more than removing fake snow in the video.
Kathy Wiseley I’m sure it works fine removing light snow. But so does my glove. Useless with real Ice.
Thanks for the REAL review
So glad I don't have to deal with this where I live. If I did I'd probably install an instant water heater near a hose and spray my car down with hot water. As long as the hose is fully or mostly emptied everytime of course...

Happy holidays! Thanks for the comment! Appreciated.
Thanks for this, you just saved me money on Amazon!
Only good for WARM ICE I GUESS! lol! Thanks for the review!
Son of Light that’s my guess as it definitely doesn’t work with real cold winter weather with real snow, ice and frost.
The videos advertising this cone definitely don't deal with un-defrosted ice. I'd imagine it would work well if you leave your car running for 15 minutes and melting that layer of ice, but we don't got time for that when we're getting ready for work in the morning.

Thank you for the real test on real ice.. 👍🏼
Michel Ménard most welcome. Glad you found it useful.
Thank you!!! It looked to good to be true.
At first I was like maybe air circulates in the funnel...saw this and was like yeah no. Thanks brotha!
Excellent,straightforward review. Thanks!
mcrider 18 thanks. 👍🏻
Good, thorough demonstration. thanks for saving me cash.
I rarely scrape anymore, since i have a cabin heater, but when i do, i just use those square plastic scrapers. Works perfectly!
Thanks CC. Yahoo News just showed this "invention", and then your Video came up in the continued stories.
You just saved me $10.00!
Momzilla glad to help!
Thank you so much for the demo! I won't be buying these as stocking stuffers this year!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the honest review!!
Nanny Erica most welcome.
Thank you for this. Need to upgrade our little square scraper to something that can tackle the snow.
Well done. Certainly performs in reality much differently than what it shows in the video the manufacturer presented.
Thanks a lot. A Facebook Video made this look really convincing, but I was sceptical because it was just a cone with spikes on the top!
I wish it were illegal in the states to drive with snow all over the car. I have seen some people who run the wipers and didn't do anything else. Every window and light was covered with snow.
Thanks so much! Their video looks so inviting.
Ya I too got ripped. Took a chance. I knew it would fail. Bought anyway. I’ll use it as a funnel.
Saved me some money!! Thanks guy!👍
I didn't think it would work on frost, let alone freezing rain, and you still need a brush for snow. Thanks for the demo.
honest review - most videos show a thinner layer of ice that you could scrape off easily with any tool - I will stick with the traditional ice scraper here in New England
I saw the same advertisement
I called Bullshit instantly
After 40 years of Canadian winters and scraping windows I knew it
Good vid buddy
Thanks!
Quick tip - before a storm, flip your wipers up off the winshield and leave them there - makes cleaning the snow/ice off much easier
Fill the cone with beer while you use an Old School Scraper. Well Done Sir and Earns a Subscription
I lost my scraper once and I used a CD. It worked great, it's super flexible and thin so it gets right under the ice. Obviously, a scraper is better for snow because a CD has no brush but for frost and thin ice, a CD is the best scraper I have used
Great video! Thanks for the info, stay warm!
thanks. will do 😊
Many thanks for the post, you saved me the purchase price for something I no doubt would have been disappointed with.
tlunde53 most welcome. Glad the video helped.
Thanks for a great review! I was thinking of buying it and thought I should check out the reviews first.
May E glad it helped.
I bought one and it works as advertised. Eats right through the ice very quickly. Will buy more.
That thing reminds me of when in college I used a cheap black plastic bowl to clean my windshield. It worked way better than the scraper cone.
Thanks for the demonstration. I was wondering if I should spend the money.
Thanks for the review. I was hyped about it until I realize it really was a cone. I thought there would be some sort of razor blades at the bottom to make the ice come off so easily.
I’d say that it only works if the worst thing you get on your car is a little frost.
Very helpful. Thank you. I appreciate you.
Very welcome. 🙏🏻

Thanks! I had a feeling the cone was junk!
That scraper is fine, for people who live in Florida and get a few weeks of winter.
Thank you for this video, saved me wasting my money!
Thank you for saving my money. Virginia, USA

I use a cd case and it works really well.
