Always interesting seeing other countrys framing methods whether it be a cut roof or trusses, here in Australia id say its 95% trusses, very similar to your guys except our girder trusses are kept down the depth of the jack trusses so the top cord runs over them forming the hip end instead of having to infill every truss bay. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CHIPPY
16D wood welding rods are awesome! Your work reminds me of working with my dad, before he died from emphysema, with your cam view I get to see what he was doing. Thanks.
In Australia we do them abit different we have rafters hips and creepers for the trusses and valleys but we use the green or blue treaded pine timber and we also use noggings tie downs nail plates on top of all frames and also steel cross bracing and we also don’t need tp cover the whole house in ply we only put ply board on the corners of the house for house movement but it’s cool seeing how everything country does building different
Ontario guy for sure best production framing style in North America right there that would take 5 guys on the west coast to do what one Beast from the East is doing , Good job Beast way to rep
I always organize trusses on the ground from front to back then boom them up that way there's no maneuvering them on the walls from girder to girder. Only ever had on set that one man couldn't spread on his own. Also I always nails all the blocks on before anything is standing that way you never have a guy waiting.
I can see how that would work nicely but space can be an issue on some sites. I’ve nailed the blocks the way you are saying too many times. Lots of ways to do the same task.
@@framingbeast720 yeah but just steal the street haha, fork extensions are super handy and maybe a few more steps on the the ground easier than on the walls, always works out!
I still don’t get it? I am a pro carpenter/ contractor but don’t get it? Is this the reason for the you tube? Moves fast? Or nails really fast? Trust me as a finish man I would be there at this stages checking my doors, window rough framing? Hey I could be totally wrong here ? And I mean no disrespect but I truly don’t get the need to just blow yourself out sooner than you should! Being a carpenter is physical and it’s the smart ones who last! I know I am looking at my dad who is 86 and totally active still ? He was smart, built custom specs, moved pretty fast, however he just said unless your bills are late there is not a good reason for it?
It’s not as much about going fast as it is trying to maximize your daily accomplishments and potential but doing a clean job at the same time. If for a second I sacrificed quality then it would be a non starter and I would lose all Motivation.
They get a lot done but it's fucking hideous. Two 16s shot in the top chord? It's an 1 1/2" wide for fucks sake. The majority of his nails aren't holding shit. It's typically called nail weak in the construction business. If it wasn't for trusses guys like this would be fucked.

@@losyu09 custom spec homes usually still do hand cut roofs. Did that last year for two 4200 sq ft houses with some massive rafters here in Illinois.

straight blocks for life
shooting that many nails doesn't weaken the wood?
I only use 16D to hang stuff in the shed 😮
Hard work! BEAST!!!!!!!!
Does your boss pay for the nails? Or do you charge for the ones you use?
No the main contractor doesn’t pay for them I do but I’ve had to go back and add nails in girds if that’s what you’re referring to
I’m assuming this is Canada. No fall protection & white pine ?
Spruce
Have you ever shot your toe?
I glanced my toe a couple times.
I put a nail right through my foot last yr. If I look hard enough I can probably find the footage

Putting your foot on the other side of the wood right where you are nailing it is an OSHA safety violation. Just sayin.
