Drag Race France is refreshing, it seems like unlike drag race Usa (no shade) the girls, the judges but also the producer really care about queer and drag culture and it seems they really want to make a change 🧚♀️ I'm really proud that they favor the girl's stories, the sisterhood and queer history over drama and competition...And still this season Cookie is bringing a bit of drama which I love ❤
What I love about Keiona’s storyline is that it’s very organic and not overproduced. For 4 weeks in a row she did really well, but there was always one little piece missing that (deservingly) prevented her winning. But then she finally excels in all the categories and deservingly receives her first win, without any production meddling.
As a French queer woman of colour, this episode was the best love letter to our country and our community. I didn't cry but I was so moved by it, I rewatched the episode at least 3 other times. It was so good, Keiona was stellar, Cookie and Mami Watta were superbe, Moon, Ginger, Sara and Punani made me laugh so hard. More if this, please. Merci de parler de Drag Race France 🇫🇷💜 #cocococorico
And also don't forget the fact that the guest judge author of the lip-sync song, Juliette Armanet, is a rising Superstar here in France and everyones adores her. A truly unforgettable episode !
This is the most I’ve been invested in a season of drag race since maybe s14 over a year ago: the cast chemistry; the drama; the fashion; the judges; the lip syncs; a whole runway and lip sync dedicated to Dalida… I just hope they keep this momentum up because rn France 2 is S tier for me. Ty for giving it a much-deserved spotlight 💕
Yeah as soon as Keiona said she was bitter about not winning I new it was ON. As jaded as I have become over the last few years when it comes to storytelling on Drag Race, when it does click into place like it did here, it's magical. Drag Race France has a special place in my heart and I love to see it received so well 💜 The queens are amazingly talented and I truly want the best for them!
Drag Race France has such a different vibe to other franchises that it seems that they look out for the talent portion, and they uplift the contestants to be their best selves !! Such an amazing season so far ;)
however, the wow producers also truly know how to royally fuck up a third season... as3, uk3, canada 3, down under 3, españa 3, españa 3, *españa 3*... fingers crossed
As a French fan, I really enjoy you celebrating our fabulous queens and this perfect season ❤ I'm always curious to have the opinions of someone outside France. It's always a pleasure to follow you here and on TikTok 🥰
I was gasping for air when that runway hit the stage. Also, drag race Espana is elite, that season 2 talent show episode is one of the best of any franchise
Also I loved the guest judge this episode, loved her song that they used in the lipsync, she was overall amazing energy and seemed like a beautiful soul. Her last album is full of bops btw.
What makes a great season is an amazing cast paired with good judging. I really appreciate the judging in this season, wish it could be like this for all franchises.
I was so looking forward to watching this video! Drag Race France is shaping up to me the best European franchise. I think production is great, the main producer Raphaël Cioffi ans Nicky Doll are doing an amazing job in creating a show that showcases queer talented people. I think Italia should take some notes from France. I strongly suggest going to one of the many shows of the Drag Race France 2 tour. I went to Marseilles last year and the queens from Season 1 blew me away.
I adore DRF. Punani, Moon and Mami Watta are my favs this season. Was a little sad that they threw Punani under the bus in order to have a bottom two... (No elimination week, maybe?) Because the judges were feeling it so much, I don't understand why they didn't consider a pass on elimination this episode. I think that DRE and DRF are now more engaging, more emotionally real and more interesting for me than the US seasons... Just my opinion ( I know that DRE was a bit of a mess this season but still love some of the queens so much! I love you Hornella Góngora❣). I also love some of the queens from DRI that you did a video on recently. Ava Hangar and Enorma Jean are two queens that I adore and still follow and love. Memorable, original drag!
Lucas was a french teenager who commited suicide after being harass for being "feminine" in a French School. Daphne talks about it because it's like... The 15th teenager who commited suicide in less than a year in our country because of school bullying, homophobia (for boys), fatphobia (for girls), etc...
I really love Drag Race France, enough drama to not being boring but a lot of love and sisterhood. So good and endearing :-) And thx for your youtube videos, I really enjoy them :-)
So glad you’re discussing this episode! DRF is such a special incredible series that deserves all the love and this episode was just a joy. J’adore les drags francaises!
As a french person (who had the chance to attend at the recording of the finale), it's so great to see some international love for DRF! Really loving your channel, btw, it's so cool to see some focus on the international seasons! Can't wait to see your upcoming videos!
I can't wait to hear what you have to Say about épisode 6 ! I just watched it and the challenge, the workroom conversation were great and the way they handled the elimination was very unique and touching compared to some other times. I see a lot of similarities with espana Season 2 with the talent show on episode 2 (which I thought was a 10/10), the Time ball, Piche and Onyx with a win going home early, as well as the remontada of cookie kunty like juriji, the 2 in 1 runway, the return if the Season 1 cast, (might as well add keiona's track record looking liké sharonne's), etc etc
We can also see what Nicky Doll learned from season 12 : don't be afraid of being political, use the show as a platform, value the sisterhood and genuine love
100% agreed, great cast and a rusical to remember! Also about the other perfects eps, DR Espana s02 ep02 is one of my favourites, the talents as the Dragula-worthy runway and the others mentioned. One for your consideration (that I watch perodically), is the 3rd ep from s01 of Secret Celebrity Drag Race: Ru's roast had some of the best reads ever, the portrayal of the fab contestants and their family meet & great and then the winner twist, so fierce and wholesome;o) Also really enjoy DR Mexico now and Down Under's new season (+ Art's commentary^^). Cheers!
I feel like production was betting on Keiona destroying the rusical. She was obviously picked by production to win the mini challenge (because the mini was obviously rigged) and it was highly probable she picked the main role and do a real good job with it. This was Keiona episode, talking about her relationship with her father, etc. Making it a very satisfying end of that 5 episode story arc. And cherry on top, Nicky is probably the host who cares the more about the queens, really making everything feels genuine. France Television wanted to present the queens in the best light, trying to uplift LGBTQIA+ and it shows. Even with the drama (also living for Cookie being the villain BTW), it's still light hearted drama.
OMG I already can't stop rewatching the season and the rusical in particular! Trruly one of the very best in the franchise, a huge lightning in a state-of-the-art bottle. Fingers crossed DR France escapes the 3rd season curse which hit UK & España so bemusingly
Great video, thank you :) Just a small clarification. (I am french dude by the way) If this episode is that special, it's because the writing. Because there is obviously the reference to Victor Hugo but also to other famous French musicals, whether in the lyrics or in the melodies. It became a tornado of emotions. And what moved (I think) the judges was to realize that these different works, created at different times, talk about the same universal subject, which is simply to be able to be who you are, and being accepted.
This episode and the all season are soooooo good ! In France, it's a huge phenomenom, and I'm happy to see that foreigners not speaking french can enjoy it also
came back to this video to say 2 things!! 1. I literally started watching this season because of this video so it worked!!! 2. Cookie reminds me so much of Xilhouete from drag race Philippines except she isn't crying about being under pressure in every episode lol
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️ I’m still debating on doing a cast-assessment for Brasil or if I should just wait for the season to start before making a video on it
What there’s a live finale?? How come this info didn’t reach me?? I googled it and 40,000 people managed to sign up in 20min (max capacity in Le Grand Rex is around 2,500) because the server capacity was underevaluated. Tickets are going to be drawn in lot.
69th Woohoo ...Newly subbed too ....1st off ..may I say WOOF.....! ok, well I am Loving DRF and Nicki is a Great Host / it just comes off more authentic/emotional....with great fashion...this was an Excellent episode - I even got emotional along with them... :)
I've truly been enjoying Drag Race France Season 2 but that Piche elimination was not it oof. I would love a video on Drag Race Mexico and why it's not working
I'm not sure if it was while watching the Musi-drag or after, but the story and roles seemingly is the same or parallels Wigloose? Keiona/Loosey, Mami/Anetra or Sasha, Moon/Mistress, Sara & Punani/Luxx & Selina.
France season 2 is seeming like it’ll turn out to be one of the best seasons of drag race all together. Amazing and talented cast and great dynamics between the queens, with production not being afraid to make the big decisions when called for like eliminating Piche. I only hope Sara doesn’t get the Pitita treatment like in Espagna 3 because that will undoubtedly taint the season. But otherwise this will be another stellar season! France does it so right !
@@Dalsemien oh wow, drag fandom being toxic? Sensational. I just said, that adding some volume to voice track in post-editing would be nice. I love his/theirs content, and just said something, that in my opinion, would've been great addition
Am I the only who dislike this episode? I mine it isn't bad, but I wasn't touch by the Rusical. Except for Moon's performance who was captivating. If her runway look was better she would have won. I glad for Keiona she deserve at list one victory but maybe not this one. About Cookie now. She not my favorite queen, but I realy despise how producers represent her as a "vilain" since the snatch game. She was right too defend her choice and not bent infront of Sarah. It's a competition, and Sarah was afraid of two Johnny, so she choose a other character. The problem is that she blame Cookie after it, while she was laking trust in herself. I dont remember who judges said that two Johnny would be awesome, but it's true. Sarah is better in improv and comedy, if she had kept her first choice, she would have put Cookie in the bottom for sure. About 5th episode I still more on Cookie's side. Ginger should have clearly said she didn't what that role ( who was not easy) instead of put in her list, even in last place .Yes the montage show Cookie interupting Ginger, but Keiona was in charge of the casting. If Ginger want to blame someone other than herself, it's Keiona. At the end of the day drag race is steal a fierce competition, where you have to stand for yourself if you want to win. Of course we as the audience don't see what is happening behind the camera. ( I hope I'm clear, english is not my best skill)

Cookie brings the drama and we love her for it
I will never see Cookie Kunty as a villain, like she's Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Luxx Noir London type of shady. Do people hate fun?
Drag Race fans: where are the queens that love to stir the pot?
Cookie: stirs the pot
Drag Race fans: why is she stirring the pot?

Drag Race France has such a different vibe to other franchises that it seems that they look out for the talent portion, and they uplift the contestants to be their best selves !! Such an amazing season so far ;)
All Stars 2, Thailand 2, UK 2, Canada 2, España 2 and now France 2. The WOW producers truly know how to make a second season of Drag Race.

however, the wow producers also truly know how to royally fuck up a third season... as3, uk3, canada 3, down under 3, españa 3, españa 3, *españa 3*... fingers crossed
Wow production wasn't involved in Thailand.
Even main season drag race 2 had better quality and the first snatch game
This episode is honestly one of my favourites ever! Everyone did so good, Keiona finally got a win, and I would die for Moon 🌙💖
