I got this exact antenna from a Hamfest and trying to learn more about mounting it...I would like more details/photos about your pole mount for it and possible ease of going from horizontal to vertical...if you can share?
Yeah sure. I’m editing the video of it as a slant and I think that is the way I’m going to leave mine in because it worked better for getting people polarized either way. Ham-Solo K0FYR
As explained in the video I broke the 70cm hardware so the only one available to test would be the 2m side. Most 2m antennas have a standard SWR that sits somewhere from 2.5 SWR down to a 1 and anywhere in between. That’s more than fine for modern VHF radios so usually I wouldn’t bother with an antenna like this as gain will overcome loss and reflected power. Ham-Solo K0FYR
I’m actually seeing if I can have only one type of polarization to cover both types of SSB users. Some people are running horizontal for SSB and others are running vertical for SSB as well. I’m going to try in those two positions and then try it as a 45 degree slant to cover both types of SSB polarization. It’s not as cut and dry as you suggest since many people do different things. Looking forward to the update once the parts arrive. 73 KF0HEG

What about reading the SWR value for each band?, because it is not displayed in your video

And the point of this...Horizontal for SSB, Vertical for FM.....this has been done before....
