Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey RUclips Channel. This RUclips channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!
I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Thanks!! Exactly what I was looking for. Quick and to the point
Nicely done Coach!
Nice one coach, this is an instruction video I am down for 😉
I watched this video as well as the older longer version. Gave me the confidence, nailed it. I'm sure there are other ways to regrip clubs given the other comments, but Coach's way works well. Thanks again. Well done.
Glad it helped!
Great, thanks
Great tutorial. Just used this technique for my irons! Thank you so much!
This was perfect! Thank you. Started with my putter and was just as easy as in your video.
Glad it helped!
Thanks coach
Great how to video. I use midsize grips and regrip my own clubs. I find the t-shaped grip remover is safer and doesn't risk damage to your graphite shafts versus using a razor knife or box cutter.
Just get some hooked stanley blades...
Best video ever!
Is it later? Yes it is. Thank you!
Nice!
You must be an one of the best customers for grip manufacturers and the golf stores. You do know that you can wash those grips with just a water and a Dish soap. It removes the greasy stuff. In extreme cases you can also use a little of Scotch-Brite
Would you like me to do a video tutorial on that 😂
Nice one coach, changed my iron grips today, it was just as easy as you made it look😅
Nice work! Hope they are all nice and straight
Nice!!! Love a good instructional Coach!
How long should you leave the clubs before using them? For the adhesive to set?
A few hours is recommended. Overnight would certainly do the trick.
What about using the grips again? If still in good condition and you want to use them on newer irons or clubs.....please show how best to take grips off and re- use them. Coat hangers, air pressure compressors.....be good to see a video?!?! Cheers.
Sounds like more trouble than it’s worth
Good video .. Thx
Glad you liked it!
Use a small sponge/scrub pad, with a little dish soap and water on those grips and let them dry overnight. It'll bring them back to life for a while; depending on how much you play of course.
I tried putting grips on without a vise didn’t go well
How are you finding the CP2 wrap grips? I love the grip but whatever I do I can stop them not being loose at the cap end of the grip
Push them on properly, shouldnt be loose at the cap end bruh
I've been a regripping machine since this video! I even regripped my toaster!
😂😂😂
Nice video, what about arcoss grips for none arcoss? Would you need to add a spacer?
Dont think so but I would have to check.
@@CoachLockey nice one, look forward to seeing the video 😉
Those shafts & pins were almost identical !!!! jk 😂 Thx coach
Good video, question. I am going to re grip my driver i bought a couple of years ago but, i dont have any grip tape.
Is it essential to put new grip tape on or could I just put the grip over the old tape? Saves me buying a whole new role.
I can’t imagine the grip sticking with old tape. Get some new double sided tape.
Would methylated spirit work when re gripping my clubs?
My uncle uses lighter fluid so I would say yes
What is the leading edge.? The very bottom of the club or the first groove near the bottom ?
You got it 👍 but below the lowest groove.
What is white spirit
Trying to regrip some TaylorMade Bubble shafts, and can’t even come close to getting the new grip over the end of the shaft. The shafts are quite flared at the ends, and the grip hole will NOT fit! What can I do??! Thanks!
You need a specific bubble shaft grip I think.
@@CoachLockey Turns out there’s a little plastic tool you need to stretch the hole (!) and slip it over, then you slide the grip on and the tool comes off. ‘Golf grip installation tool for bubble butt’ lol, I sh!t you not. I have one coming, we’ll see how it goes!
The intro could have been an email
Why is one grip different? A video idea might be the benefits to using different types of grips, corded vs others etc :) test them in rain or something!
Bernie Lester Barnes just posted a video on exactly that
I have two 21 degree irons and it’s so I know which one is which 👍
Gripping stuff!😬
They never slip on that easily with me 🤔
I don’t think it’s preferable to use a straight edge box knife when removing grips. Better to use the curved tip blade. Less chance of damaging the shaft.
I agree
White spirit?
What is white spirit? Vodka?
In the US called Mineral Spirits
The Brittys have a different name for everything and they are the only ones (evidently) that care enough, about the sport of golf, to post You”Chube” videos. 🤓😂🤣😂
what the hell is white spirit? water or vodka?
could of written that into google 😉
@@CoachLockey How does white spirit glue the grip? Does it react with the tape to form a glue or what?
@@cryptobob22 What? No mate, it acts like a lubricant that the glue doesn't stick too early. You can use just water also
I use grips from baseball bats
What the hell is white spirit? I’m from Canada. Is that like rubbing alcohol?
Google will let you know 😂😉
Umm. Yikes 😬
2 great nations separated by a common language: What is "white spirits"?
I used iso spirits, trying to re-grip and this melted a dri-tac 2.0 grip... so this was worthless advice.
I didn’t tell you to use iso spirits 😂😂
