    4090 is the very first card I can take seriously for 4K...thats what it was designed for

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад +49

      You see...while indeed you can say it's designed for 4K, I disagree. I do not think the resolution is the fault here, I think CPU's being too slow is the problem.
      A 1440p 360hz monitor is 1100 usd, which is more then a lot of 4k monitors, and 1440p 360hz is insanely hard to achieve, and only a 4090 amd 7900xtx can do that in call of duty multiplayer as an example.
      So yes, while 4k high refresg is finally possible thanks to the 4090, so is 1440p 360hz🙌

    • @CasualG-mer
      @CasualG-mer Год назад +25

      @@Beefy-Tech I mean...most people would not need a 1440p 360hz monitor....they can just get 1440p 240hz instead at a much lower price and you don't have to buy a 4090 for it...a 4080 is a more sensible card for people who crave high frame rates at 1440p at 360fps.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад +14

      @@CasualG-mer yup. 4090 is overkill, and 240hz is even above what most people need. 360hz 1440p is for the 2% interested in the best of the best also..
      But the 4090 can also do 240hz 4k, which is nuts.
      You pay a lot for it, but you definitely get crazy performance for the money👍

This resolution is becoming popular, It’s about a 3rd more demanding to run so looking at your results I think it will be but no way near as bas. @@Beefy-Tech the key takeaway from your video for me was that the gameplay was smooth and enjoyable. My plan is to buy a 4090FE and sell my 3090FE while it is still worth something this year. Then do a complete platform upgrade when the 8800x3d is released. That way I’m not having an expensive gpu upgrade in the same year. I mainly play warzone 2, but I do like to play games like Cyberpunk with all the eye candy turned on. I’m really looking forward to playing Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield soon. Have you got a video on tuning your ram? I’ll have a search. I have Corsair Dominator 3600/c18 currently but I’m sure I’ll be able to tune it. Not really had a need to so far, as the 5800x3d doesn’t have a problem with the 3090.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад +4

      @@curtismariani6303 the thing is you will still get to enjoy a massive upgrade from 3090 to 4090 even without upgrading anything else. 5800x3d can draw 360fps+ in multiplayer mw2 and mw1. The throughput of it is strong enough where you won't ever really have a complaint with FPS you are getting.
      If you haven't already, I recommend trying PBO2 tuner with 5800x3d. An undervolt actually renders extra performance from 5800x3d, and I am going to do a video on it very soon as I think it's very much worth doing.

    You shouldn't be using 4 000 polling rate on a mice when your FPS say is running at 300 frames per second or in other words "polling" at 300 times per second. Pros and people that understand polling rate usually keep their mice at 500 or 400 polling rate so it's just a bit faster then the frames being generated instead of creating a bottleneck of polling rate from the mice versus frames being generated which is not the ideal situation. Your creating an issue.
    Companies want to make you think that a 4,000 or 6,000npolling mice is better than a 500-1000 polling rate mice to get your money. Set your mice between 400-500 polling rate and get better acturate shots off.
    The conclusion is, you don't want to click on the previous frame but the one shown since the polling rate is jammed in the queue.

    There's no CPU on the market that will not bottleneck 4090 at 1080p or 1440p... Game engines are just not well designed to utilize all of the CPU due to not enough fund/time to make it scalable across CPU ranges and utilize varying CPUs... SO usually 2 cores are hammered hard while the rest are kinda chill.
    Heck I'm using i5 11400 and even though i'm bottlenecking my RTX 3090 with DLSS quality... CPU is still nowhere near even 80%... usually it sits 10-30% and hogwarts goes to like 40-50% and i'm still seeing bloody 60-80% GPU utilization.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  Год назад

      Rough to tell to be honest. I am uncertain of what would be enabled on your end. Here's the thing, I own a 5600x, 5800x3d and 13700k. With 13700k and a ddr5 6800mhz kit and a 5.6ghz oc, 13700k is 5-10FPS faster then 5800x3d (even when 5800x3d has the UV applied). Meaning that setting for setting, a 13700k winning by a bit in warzone would make sense.
      As for a 5950x being significantly faster, I am not sure. I used to own a 5900x prior to 5800x3d and the 5800x3d is definitely faster then that one, but I guess it comes down to if you are using AMD FSR or DLSS, how late in the match you record the data, and what part of the map you are on.
      As an example, by police station near al mazraah city, I see 240-260FPS, and by Sawah village it's more like 200-220.
      The later in a match the data is recordered, the higher the FPS as there's less people on the map, and on warzone BR, the gas covers the map over time also increasing fps.
      But if you are getting 250+fps no problem, don't change your settings, cause you are clearly doing something right 🤣👍👍👍

    • @Beefy-Tech

      Hello, it's good you have a clear goal in mind, and taking into account your CPU, the 4080 would more then suffice for what you play and the refresh rate you are looking for.
      The advantage the 4090 would have us how future proof it is. If you were to buy a 4090 for your current rig it'd be significantly overkill, and even at 50% power target ud have 90% of the 4090s performance.
      But if you do a full system update including monitor, let's say to a future 8800X3D cpu, and a 4K 240hz monitor (which already exists and will become common in a couple years) the 4090 is currently capable of doing 4K 240fps in Warzone 1, Warzone 2, and other multiplayer games.
      And it's capable of 4k 120+Fps in single player Ultra preset games (with a couple exceptions ofc).
      4080 is about 30-35% slower overall,but would be more then enough for years to come.

Just one more question: would you say it's sufficient enough to just buy one of the cheapest models of the 4090? Or would you rather go for a premium model like the cards from Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte due to their overclocking potential? I'm not really convinced that buying a Strix card with a high power limit makes any sense, because it seems like there's minimal to zero performance gains by increasing the stock power limit from 450w to 600w... what's your take on that topic?

      Warzone 2 it uses 300 watts while Paired with a 7950x3d. meaning in multiplayer games youll never be at power limit.
      Worst cases that ive seen are Dying Light 2 4K Ultra Ray tracing, which uses 430watts while overclocked...but even then it didn't hit power limit.
      And at 8K res In Need For Speed Unbound it hit power limit of 450watts, but that's 8K Resolution, so it's expected.

    Hey Beefy! I have an RTX 3080 and currently running an i7 8700k at 1440p I realized it is being bottlenecked and I am having to decide my next cpu to upgrade to.... while I am sure the 5800x3D will be FINE paired with a 3080 at 1440p at the same time I do want to future proof my rig, if in the coming years if I upgrade to a 4080/90.... What are your thoughts and do you have any CPU recommendations for me? Thanks again 👊

      5800x3d will drive up to a 3090ti/6950xt in warzone 2.
      Remember, warzone 2 is one of the most cpu bottlenecked games out there, so if it runs wz2 ir runs anything.
      If you plan to move to 40 series or 50 series without needing a upgrade, I recommend going straight to AM5 with the 7800x3d (which comes out april) or any other 7000x3d cpu, and a kit of ddr5 6000-6200mhz ram.
      If u wanna do the easiest upgrade for up to a 3090ti/6950xt 5800x3d is perfect and much cheaper.

      I don't think you will have any issues because cpu bottleneck is to do with cpu throughput. Unless you run sim racing and use all 4k monitors simultaneously in said game, I think the bottleneck will be 4090.
      Easiest way to tell if u have a cpu bottleneck is to check out your gpu usage while playing a game you know to be gpu demanding... let's say you are playing fh5 and are seeing 85% gpu usage, then it's likely your cpu can't throughput enough fps to satisfy the 4090 (but very unlikely on your setup).
