I like how you did the roof sliders. I had been toying with designs for a removable roof slider and platform setup, but this has changed all of it for me.
That sounds awesome, I did have the idea of welding tube to the sill, running the roof slider into that, then running the sill tube back into the rear hoop and putting the rear hoop bush onto the chassis, but made the tray join to hard so decided against it. Cheers
Awesome video as always mate, reminds me of the Covid lock down days just you working away building tough stuff in the shed! Don’t know how people have extensively modified patrols/comp trucks for so many years and you still keep pioneering new ideas. Love it keep them coming mate cheers!
Thanks for watching mate. Haha those were some good times, no where near as busy back then so it was far easier to do. It’s always good to try something different, could work heaps better or it might be way worse, but it’s worth a shot!
Coming along so well. Sucks that the tube is so expensive. Cant wait to see the front suspension and what engine 😊 Hoping to see you driving this through the 1000 dollar track with timmy in no time 😂
Thanks for watching mate, unfortunately everything is expensive these days haha. Looking forward to tackling the front end! Will definitely be heading down there with Timmy, hopefully next year. Cheers
@@DanielKistler have built a number of dana 60 outers with H233 centre setups before, and in my own Jeep have Patrol H233 hi pinion with JK D44 outers and RCV's loves the skinny pedal
@@MrBudscustoms that’s awesome, so do you run 35 spline with the 44 knuckles? I didn’t actually read the user name when you first commented haha I have seen you make these housing before!
Instead of chopping or ending the bar going into the guard could you maybe join that to the slider on both sides, I don’t know just a thought might be a dumb idea
Problem there is I’ll have to rubber bush it to the sliders because they mount to the chassis. then one day when the sliders get tweaked I’ll never line that up again. Also be harder to pull the whole roof set up off as well
If I can suggest anything with this build and other future ones to come… Elliot’s Big Red Leather Welding Cushion $70-75 online. worth it’s weight in gold…trust me. Kneeling, welding, marking measuring etc, it’ll save your knees and is a blessing just in general! 😉
Awesome dude, learned heaps appreciate how much detail you went into. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for checking it out Timmy!
Now this is a “Game Changing” build 🙏🙏
No bolt on stuff here 🤣
Mate!!! appreciate the detail you went into it’s hard enough getting time to get into the shed but the time you took teaching us all is awesome 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for watching mate, I really enjoy passing on knowledge and showing people how to do stuff at home. Cheers
Wiked video. Love the technical side to it. Cab rack/roll bar looks mint.❤
Thanks for watching mate, cheers.
Great episode Daniel, thanks mate heaps to take in from this one👌
Thanks for watching mate, packed plenty of
Info in it.
I like how you did the roof sliders. I had been toying with designs for a removable roof slider and platform setup, but this has changed all of it for me.
Thanks mate, hopefully it works out good in the end. Cheers
Brilliant work as always and love your cool ideas.
Thanks for watching mate, appreciate it
Nice build. I built an exo cage on my GQ Ute years ago and ran the front leg down behind the guard and joined it to the sliders. It looks much neater
That sounds awesome, I did have the idea of welding tube to the sill, running the roof slider into that, then running the sill tube back into the rear hoop and putting the rear hoop bush onto the chassis, but made the tray join to hard so decided against it. Cheers
Looking awesome mate. Solid build.

The Ute's looking wicked and keen to see the dana setup 😍🤌🏽

Thanks mate, certainly not an easy task to make 2 exactly the same haha
Fk man this things gon a be absolutely wild. So keen to see the rest.
Thanks for watching mate. Should be awesome when it’s done.
I love that your weekender has a semi real semi fake exo cage, perfect!! No long weekends in Mansfield for you😂
I wouldn’t take my stock gq to Mansfield any time of the year 🤣
Would love to see your process of getting it engineered if thats on the cards, front pillar tubes and roll cage laws etc. Cheers from QLD!
Because it all comes off its classed as a roof rack, so it’s fine. Thanks for watching mate
Nice one mate. Did you have a discount code with road runner offroad? Thought i seen one in another video?
Thanks mate, yeah I spoke about it at the very start of this video. DKOFFROAD
@DanielKistler ah did too cheers mate
That’s cool how you did the tube work, the front is gunna be serious I think
Thanks mate, plenty in store for the front end. Hopefully get it happening in the next few weeks
Looking awesome mate. How are you managing the movement in the body mounts? You may end up with cracks around those m10 bosses in the cab.
Thanks mate, that’s what the rubber bush is for where it connects to the rear hoop, allow some movement
@@DanielKistler thanks mate. I must’ve missed that.
Great vid!
Thanks mate

Are you building a Dana GU Hybrid ❓Dana 60 outer with GU centre/ 3rd member ❓
You’ll have to wait and see haha…
Hi is that a Kempi mig? If yes How do you find it ? Tia
Hey mate it sure is. Love it, solid little machine. Was recommended by someone who uses one every day at work.
