    Hi, You said you cannot include an attachment in a template(oft). But this is the only way to just do that! It is great for attachments which cannot be used by the other methods in Outlook.

    Thx so much for this helpful video, I created an ActiveX controls oft template with your help. But then I wanted some field code options, so I created another version using Legacy controls and found that the drop-down menus didn’t work once copied from Word into Outlook. Is there a way to create a functioning Outlook template using Legacy content controls? Thx!!

    Hi, i see the new Outlook (Sept 2023) no longer supports .oft or Outlook templates. What is the new approach in creating them within the new platform? 😰

    Incredible time saver! If someone attached a pdf to the template, is there a way to make sure that any update or changes on that pdf that are on the same PC would be updated on the template?

    • @D3Sue

      Hi Glenn. From my understanding, no, however editing the template is super quick!

    • @glennmcanally
      @glennmcanally 2 года назад +1

      @@D3Sue Thank you for response. I did test that after I updated the PDF that was attached to the template and it is true no changes were reflected in the template. I guess it's just a matter of deleting the old pdf and just attaching the updated one. That might be a little over an hour of deleting and reattaching PDFs on about one hundred emails.

      @@D3Sue I learned you can attach a document to a template and any changes in the document will be reflected with a mail merge. This video explained it ruclips.net/video/yj_s3cdfVDY/видео.html

    Hello Sue, thank you for your insight into Oft templates. I use Office 365, is there any way when replying to an Outlook email to use the templates. UI have an office with 5 staff memebers and I would like all teir responses to be similar hence the need to use an oft file with the reply email. Thanks Harold

    • @D3Sue
      @D3Sue  3 года назад +1

      Hi Harold. Oft is not available, however “My Templates” is available on Outlook 365. Please see my other video “How to Create Email Templates for Outlook: Part 2 My Templates.” Start at 5 minutes. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you for the videos! I created a calendar invite template with attendees, info on the body, etc. I already have categories created in my outlook calendar, but those categories did not get saved in the template that I created. How do I bring all those categories that I already created and saved in my calendar to my calendar invite template? I want to be able to choose which category I want each time I pull out my template. Hope you can help me. Thank you!!!

      Outlook File Templates can be placed in a folder on a shared drive or OneDrive with shared access.

    Hi, thank you for your videos. If a template needs to have multiple emails in the to: field, would this mean only OFT can be used?

    • @D3Sue
      @D3Sue  2 года назад

      You could use "My Templates" instead, however, you would need to add the multiple emails each time. If you don't want to use OFT, you can save the template as a regular email in your drafts folder prepopulated with the recipients email address. BUT, do not follow your normal instinct to open the draft, edit, and hit send. Instead, select the draft (not open) and click CTRL+F. This creates a duplicate message that you can edit and send while retaining the original draft in your draft folder. Happy to explain further if you send me an email sue@suevizcarra.com and we can hop on a call to figure out what is best for your situation.

    HI Sue. Thank you for the info. I do have a question that I am searching an answer for and hope you may be able to help. It has to do with editing the category name when saving the templates in by category. Do you know how to edit this. I have a few templates that I would prefer to be grouped to make life easier. Many thanks. Belinda

    Been looking everywhere but still can't find a solution, this doesn't work because it generates a new email, you can't use it to reply to someone's email.
    What I require is someone sends me an email, I then reply to that email with my reply message and an attachment that needs to be completed.

    • @D3Sue
      @D3Sue  Год назад +1

      Hi Simon. One workaround is to use "My Templates" rather than .oft templates (see other video). Then, save your attachment to your desktop for easy access. Step 1: Hit reply Step 2: Click "My Templates" icon in the command bar Step 3: Drag and drop the file from desktop into email. Step 4: Hit Send.
