A lot of nba players are… if you watch people like tyus jones, D-lo, Jeff Teague and more.. are dunking aggressively and just look more athletic before they hit the NBA
What happens is the athleticism evens out as your peers get older. It’s not as easy to get your moves off. I’ve seen this happen too many times. Being 6-2 at 14 is special, 6-2 at 18 not so much. He got trapped and fooled. The thing I tell all young tall kids is you gotta develop the nba skill level for your height. If you are 13 y/o and 6-3 you can’t assume you’ll grow more. Many kids cap out. If you didn’t develop guard skill you wash out.
That's a lot of wear and tear on a young growing body. He could've had some minor injuries or physical dysfunctions by the time he was 17 that slowed him down. And if he's not increasing his skill set/iq and not getting stronger in the weight room then he'll get knocked around and also leave him with holes in his game
I was super athletic at 19 and could dunk but now at 27 I'm stronger and faster but my bunnies have completely disappeared lol I can barely touch rim now I've had some bad injuries to my ankles tho that I think affected my jumping ability
His mistake? Going to UNC. Said it when he committed. Then you end up going to the school you should have went to in the 1st place. These kids really be having the worst advice
Any player, especially guards, should have a jumper/3point range. It also didn’t help that when you max out at 6’1’ and at that height in the NBA you MUST have automatic pull up and defense gotta be elite on ball
He peaked early. Didn’t have the growth spurt as expected. Undersized. Game predicated on athletic ability that was diminished as he got older and started playing against players with just as much athletic ability and bigger than him. Shooting stroke streaky at best. All of this equals the average undersized guard ruling the courts in Anyhood America. Not NBA quality. I’m glad he found his level overseas and is getting paid.
Picking the wrong College ruins players, these players were ranked Top 5 out of High School. NIL/new transfer portal rules could have saved them - Seventh woods (UNC) - Treyvon Duval (Duke) - Li’angelo Ball (UCLA) - Jahvon Quinerly (Villanova) - Jaylen Hands (UCLA)
And even when they find their way into the NBA they never become the type of player you want to build around to win championships. The Westbrook or LaVine type, or more recently Scoot Henderson. And soon people will realize Ja Morant is the same crap.
This guy set Columbia SC on fire when he was in high school, I'm glad he's still playing nowadays players have options D-league and Big 3 I'm still a fan
This is what happens when people hype a mixtape. People that only hype a mix tape don't know the game. I think Mixtape hype inflate these guys head. He was a very good HS basketball. However when he went to UNC he couldn't beat out other guys like Joel Berry or Coby White. He then transfered to South Carolina, and then couldn't avg 5 points at Morgan State.
He also injured his foot his sophomore year & also vroke his wrist...dat contributed to his confidence n his athletic abilities so he toned it way down...n my opinion i think he's jus basketballed out n jus plays on autopilot now cuz its da only thing he knows n was good at..
he was way better than Mikey wish he could be. a versatile combo guard who can not only score but defend at all 3 levels. i feel like he would’ve been in the league if he would’ve committed South Carolina instead NC
Good profile other than bring n up Mikey. I’m not a huge fan, but he’s gotten WAY better. Go look him up. He just posted his workout 2 weeks ago, if he’s confident, he’ll be one of the best guards in the country.
Whaat 😊I had no clue Seventh was playing up Morgan(MSU is a small city in my city of Baltimore you never hear of their sports, but a ton of people go there for academics and this whike time a top 5-10 player in his H.S class is there hooping *some who I used to always watched at that*) sucks too bc I was a kid ansmd * I really thought Seventh was going to be the next D'Rose smh.
mikey and seventh are nothing alike. mikey has one of the coldest bags i've ever seen. his workout pick up games are insane. he'll likely revamp his career in florida. can't wait to see how he makes noise this year.
Did Seventh Woods have the best high school mixtape of all time? Let us know in the comments below👇
JR smith tape was better
it was impressive for sure
It was up there
Aquila’s Carr for sure up there and another person I lowkey like watching was Ryan harrow #throwbacks
4 years vs 1 year…. Yea, you don’t know hoops
1:34 thats bruce brown lol
I know lol that’s crazy
thats what i said 😂😂
This just proves when you peak to early everyone catches up to you at the next level
Lebron was #1 since freshman
@@Grind2Excellence lebron is the exception
@@Grind2Excellence Lebron was also 6'8 as athletic as Seventh, and strong. Almost all these guys that were really good in High School don't grow.

When he was at UNC, he was injured most of the time. If a player is injured the majority of the time, that player will never develop.
He also wasn't beating out Joel Berry or Coby White.
He never had a consistent jump shot
6’1 with that level of athleticism he should’ve tried football
6’1 185 , good football build to his body i think u right might couldve love the wrong sport
He should have stayed in SC and played for USC w/ pj dosier. We went to the final four that year and he would have started
Definitely should’ve went somewhere where he could’ve started immediately
He peaked at 14.
But he dropped 2 1 and 1 in college. He beasted out
He didn’t peak he just developed earlier
@@CinoDBand peaked. Guys he was dunking on started to catch up amd eventually left him behind

Man HOOPED in Ireland this year
Dude had the same skills as a 7th grader and a Senior in College. Literally peaked at 13 and never improved.😂

Seventh Woods and Dennis smith jr was exciting in HS
I've watched Seventh play in the superleague playoffs against my own club
A picture of Bruce brown is nasty 😂

Thus shows how important choosing the right school is.
Knowing that since 6th grade til college he was a monster
Get in where you fit in. I'm happy for him.
That’s Bruce Brown at 1:35

Unfortunately he got injured at UNC and couldn’t develop as a D1 player.
When defensive lock down the drive in collge he didnt have a shot ...so that was a bigggggg problem
Never heard of him 🥃🃏
Kenny Anderson had a much better HS freshman year
I forgot he even went to UNC and I’ve been a fan all my life. SMH. 😂
Well, since you said “actually”, have a seat son, I’ll tell you all about it
Is it woods or constansa, seven constansa was all world and universal.
Imagine that your claim to fame is only a high school mixtape
Man got an NCAA championship ring and a college degree for free.
Roy Williams mesh up woods career
Background music?
I think he chose the wrong college should’ve went to South Carolina…
