- a while ago i remade “Resonance” by HOME. i recently came back to the project and did some updating. i think it sounds better now. also this is basically how i did it.
hope you enjoy :)
The cover art in the thumbnail and all original chords and melodies were created/written by and belong to Randy Goffe, HOME.
Listen to his music here: open.spotify.c...
PS: People have been asking about the visualizer at the bottom. It's called Minimeters and you can get it here! directmusic.it...
PS: For the love of God i AM AWARE that HOME used the MiniV2 for most of the song. I used what I had available to me, which was the point. thank you
this is very elegant, most impressive
That Valhalla supermassive really adds the ambience and weight that resonance has. Also suprised that it’s all just a saw wave lol
It sure does! I wouldve used VintageVerb if i had the money💀
@@gadg3tmusic honestly feel like supermassive nailed it better
@@gadg3tmusic 🏴☠
Yah I'm surprised as well, I've noticed that a lot of the most popular songs tend to use some of the simplest, basic fundamental sound design techniques.
@@chopov11no kidding! Supermassive gives it such an incredible ambience that really takes it past a reverb. Supermassive after a delay is just 🤌🤌🤌
You sir made me nostalgic for Resonance again after 8 years. Great work!
i love how you use mostly free plugins, making it accessible to everyone
@@randomncsartist thank you! Its fun to remind people that youre not limited by buy the tools you have, only your imagination and passion
@@gadg3tmusicthis is so true cuz I use Soundtrap with my school email since it’s completely free, so Im literally in my own space when it comes to sound design and music, the finished product makes me so satisfied
i love how the delay on the lead synth almost acts and sounds like an arp
Hey it’s the guy you helped at Best Buy today! This is unreal man! Great work
Thank you so much man! hope guitar center had what you were looking for, and sorry again we didnt XD
@@gadg3tmusic lol this exchange is awesome.
@@jakeschleifer1462 i love this dialogue
@@gadg3tmusic I need to know the full backstory of this
@@rainingnights1409 I work at best buy, and this gentleman came in asking about audio equipment and i helped him out as best i could since bb doesnt have a whole lot in that department.. we got into talking about music and production, then i asked him if he knew of Resonance and then told him about a video i made
Ok this is the best recreation I’ve ever heard, I’ve heard quite a few on yt. Nice job man really
Love, it, I am piano nerd but noW digital music is so enticing
Luckily, most electronic is done on keyboard controllers or synth keyboards. Only the most rad use keytars...
i dont know what this alien technology means or how it works but I appreciate the effort
Bruh making musics are not hard.
@@ridiculous383”making musics are not hard” that sentence alone shows me you don’t know what your saying lol
@@kadilac. I mean it is but it requires a lot of practice. When I make and release each track I feel like I am improving and it's like it's becoming easier.
@@kadilac. when I was a kid I used to mess with DAW and somehow now I can make musics but still there's long way to go
@@kadilac. you're*
RUclips algo has been serving me some real gems lately. Keep it up.
Incredible job, especially on the drums. They really punch and you can really feel it at 7:52. Very nice
most accurate version by far, really impressive
9:23 i'm crying bro this is so accurate
Uhh you KINDA CRUSHED THIS. Soooo well done. Gorgeous result 💯
Just shows how much of a genius HOME is to of made this masterpiece at age 16-17...crazy stuff
you know a song's remade well when shazam immediately recognises it
This is one of my favorite songs, and this recreation is fuckin amazing!!
Recreating this song takes a lot of time and skill. Your remake is great and gets the vibe right. Nice!
I know nothing about making music, so I'll just guess this is really good, because I like it.
i believe that ruggy arp was made with DIVA, it is extremely difficult to approximate original analog low octave frequency sparsing with the common Serum. And less alone approximating it with analog saturation
Seriously amazing work. I have genuinely learned more on music production from these videos than just sitting and watching someone talk about how to do something instead of showing what is actually going on.
also what software do you use for the visualizer as i want to start promoting content on music i create and a visualizer would really improve that!
Thank you man! The visualizer at the bottom is a program/plugin called Minimeters!
EDIT: I forgot that Minimeters is $10 USD, it is not in fact free... apologies
PERFECT... JUST PERFECT! 😍😍😍😍😍
Excellent work. I listened to this with Audio-Technica m50X and its sound is a perfect and pleasant mix with all synths.
Maybe I would lower the cowbell a little, but it sounds great. Congratulations from Chile.
All I have to say is.... that’s it I’m Speechless 7:06
awesome remake thank you for sharing :))))
This sounds just like the original. Great work bro! This deserves way more views.
Almost… it sounds really good but the main synth part is not exactly the melody played in the original
Man this recreation was so spot on I feel like it’s 2018 all over again. Amazing job… makes me miss high school. Thanks for sharing
best recreation ive seen this is so talented!!!!!!
this is beautiful, keep up brother
Oh yeah, now that’s the stuff.
This video was very insightful on the techniques producers use to make their songs so captivating, thank you!
Excellent remake of one of my favourite song of all time. Great work!
This is awesome 🔥I love the original and just saw this recommended to me, I dont know much about producing but I am impressed!
This makes me want to make a video documentary on the history of a speedrun
I believe they used a Minimoog vst for almost every sound, Monark does a pretty good job at getting that sound while being free
Brioooo, dang that's awesome. Like yeah composing music isn't easy but to remake a piece by ear, to have to evaluate something that already exists so far in depth and to have it sound this good.
Genius! Its always impressive when someone recreates a masterpiece! Good Job!
This is fantastic - I'm just amazed at how you've nailed the "feel' of Resonance!
This is a very beautiful recreation of the song!
Wow man, impressive how close that sounds to the actual track. Amazing!
thats the best remake vid ive seen in ages, irrespective of the song, we need more stuff, keep up the good work!!!!
This is so good you should do more like this
you my friend are a legend
This is super accurate :O
Woah you nailed the arp sound
This is the history of super mario bros 3 speedruns...
great video! I'm definitely using this to learn
I honestly couldn't tell much of a difference between this and Resonance by Home.
Super cool 😎 it's a nice track ❤ great job
DUDE AMAZING! Really inspiring to learn everything about Ableton.
Holy shit this is perfect, thanks for the rundown
Such a great recreation
Good job
this is fucking fascinating, thank you for your work!
Best remake out there, was waiting for someone to spazz on this!
Underrated.
so accurate
Dude this is awesome, if you played this and the original, I'd have a really hard time figuring out which one's the og. Honestly, is Serum worth it over Vital? I make electronic ambient and I use pretty much exclusively Vital and Valhalla.
great work !
Bro big thanks for this video, really well explained and also thanks for take a deep look at effects!! Really usefull tutorial, I added it to my public list on RUclips about Vaporwave tutorials for the producers who wants to learn about this amazing genre!!
Hia, you've inspired me to try to make my own remake! It's on my channel.
I credited you for pretty heavy inspiration but I tried at least a little to add my own twists while still keeping the vibe of the og song
Good freaking job man! Keep it up!
Very good job. I like how you achieved so much with just the basic elements. That's a mark of a great producer.
Also, that Vital skin is fucking sick, where did you get it? 😂😂
Great stuff!
New sub earned. I really was a bit disappointed that you didnt get it right, like 90% of it was right and the rest 10% was just a miss. But then i saw the comments and read that you were using free plugins, which changed my mind and i subbed and dropped a follow on spotify as well. When are you planning on releasing on spotify?
incredible work
this is accurate as hell awesome
great remake, good job
simple, but effective.. love it!
that vital skin is so good i need it
It's Reflekshun Neon by Reflekshun! you can get it here ko-fi.com/s/de965c71aa
your kick + sidechain is better than the original, well done.
@@raffitchakmakjian thank you man!
vapor wave!!!!!!!
Wow!
He plays val and makes music!? and it is music I love!? and in a software I am learning!? Subbed liked and have a good day sir!
Nice!! This is the most accurate one I've seen
Well that was fresh ✌🏾
ITS VERY ACCURATED BRO
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the back bells has a 100% wet mix on the ping pong delay
@@HeavonsMusic you may be right, i did it from ear so i just did what sounded the best to me. I tried 100% and it sounded wayy to washed out
@@gadg3tmusic do you have discord? i can probably show you how i made mine
actually i'll probably just make a video
WHAT the hell this is so sick??
those bells sound like an ice cream truck
Do you think you could do Accelerated from Miami Nights 1984 next? Amazing remake btw!
thats awesome bro❤
incredibkle
That Vital's skin...
This is accurate as fuck
Great work. This could be used in Music College Courses.
@@SPIRE_FAN thank you man! That means so much :)

Great remix, just one question, why use OTT on the chords just to cut out the highs with an EQ?
@@spencerimre I understand how that would seem a little counterintuitive… But sometimes in my opinion, OTT just adds some frequencies back that you need even after eq-ing them out. Plus, it’s just what felt right
Have you tried making it in a higher bpm and then slowing it? Thats what HOME did i think. What part do you think is the hardest to recreate accurately?
Would not know this was not the original if it wasnt said! Though the main chord is a little off in my opinion (ex. 7:19 to 7:30). Maybe a frequency pitch down automation would make it better?
Any chance you'd release the project file for this? I'd love to look around in it. Going thru a lot of old HOME streams I found he used the arturia MiniV2 plugin for most of these sounds, would love to replace it with those and see how it sounds!
there is already a remake with mini v2
What is the theme you used for vital ?
Home doesn't release music anymore does he?
new album dropped last month my man
I think it's detuning / pitch shifting around a bit too much but other than that very cool.
Hey what music program are you using? Im trying to learn myself thanks in advance!
@@Dovehkis Ableton Live 11!
Ableton.
Excellent recreation but i dont remember there being that much detuning up and down on the original
Please make Volt Age - Volt's Theme!
this is sexy.
What software are those visuals u have at the bottom there?
well done, just notice that your mix is very mono, could probably stereo widen it
Could you tell me where you got the drum samples I need those bro. I could never find anything close enough :(
