I'm not sure if this model has it, but the newer models have a glass inspection window in the bottom of the hull in the aft stateroom, above the propeller so that you can see if it's fouled or not. This seems crazy to me, as drilling a hole in the bottom of the boat and covering it with glass must surely be a weak spot? In any case, after a time I would guess that the port would get covered in weed. To check the prop, dive overboard or stick a camera over the side. It just seems like a silly inclusion on an otherwise spectacular vessel.
Hello and thanks for the question - the two cabin version is more popular than three cab version according to the Amel factory. For any more information please do contact Port Napoleon: +33 442 058 888 and speak to Benoit who is selling many of these at the moment. thanks again.
What a beauty! The last of the great Amel's! But if any, I would look for a 54. Henry Amel knew how to design and build the boats! These, and especially the newer models are dissaster by Berret Racoupeau and his wife!

I believe the Amel 55 still have the C Drive so the propeller may not be near the bed…?
How popular is this 3 cabin version compared to the 2 cabin?
