Will you be reviewing the Phantom Tech HD?

The Phantom Tech HD is not new, you should have reviews of it everywhere on Google.

We don't have a review of the Phantom Tech HD in the pipeline, but we do of the Ribelle Tech 3 (if that's of any help/interest).

When can we expect the full review ? 😢

It'll be a while yet, I'm afraid, as our reviewer has only just received his replacement pair, after the issue we had with lacing (reported elsewhere within the comments). I suspect it'll take a few more months of use before it's ready to go live, just to be sure we've given them enough use.

The RRP is £475. We'll have a review published within the next couple of months, as we've had a pair put through their paces by a Guide who's been thrashing them out in the Alps. From the preview I've had it sounds like it'll be pretty honest, as it sounded like some very definite pros alongside some fairly serious cons.

I found the version 1 and 2 to be very stiff and clompy, not useful for approaches or scrambling. Somewhat useful for ice and longer snow walks, but lacking a toe attachment point for crampons and also lacking insulation really limits the utility in those arenas. The sole isn't good on rock either, and certainly not snow and ice without crampons. A strange hybrid creature indeed. I'm sure what use case they had in mind. The Phantom Tech walks better, scrambles just as well, and climbs ice infinitely better.

you need to try it on to show viewers and talk about sizing

This is what we titled it as being, which is a ‘first look’ video - not a review. We go into much more detail about fit and performance within our reviews, as we’ll have used it for several months - hence had a pair on our feet consistently throughout that time.

    That sole will
    Last a few walks max

My Ribelle techs instantly absorbed more water than sponges and I tried 3 different pair just to make sure it wasn’t a defect. Their version of gore/Tex Bdry or Hdry or what ever they want to call it this year SUCKS and the boots offer ZERO ankle support so good luck w those crampons all day! What a good-looking piece of garbage this boot is. Sorry scarpa it’s a scam. Love your other boots but this is a $700 scam with such a narrow potential use window it’s ridiculous

Funnily enough our reviewer has just had a similar issue, which we're currently chasing up with Scarpa. I'll report back when we know more.

@@ukclimbingofficial please do! I tried 3 different pair right from the dealer all the same - they were an earlier generation but it doesn’t sound like H dry has changed at all just other modification. I also had terruboenissue w their cheap plastic lace “tightener” that didn’t hold anything tight and often broke. These look great but scarpa execution and use of their proprietary fabric instead of gore Tex is a loser. Big time especially for a $700 US boot. And H dry doesn’t dry - out ! It took well over 24 hours to dry in. A dry warm room I had to purchase electric boot-dryers to get those things dried in less than a day. Csnt imagine using these anywhere it’s wet or iced or snowy and cold boots are a safety issue first and foremost not a fashion accessory which is what I sense these boots are sadly

So did you own ribelle 3 hd or are you just trashing it when you don't own a pair? Only seen 2 reviews on them and they seem fairly positive.
