Literally done everything I’ve done to my van through watching your vids… done the touran dash, carpeted, arm rest, front carpets, sound deadening and everything with your guidance… thanks for the videos very much appreciated!
Don’t forget the insides of the back and I’d do the front doors too But then after a sunroof leak ruining my headliner in a MK3.5 Fiesta RS1800 and pre monster car stereo install, I did the roof floors doors quarter panels boot floor rear arches and then the front doors on the side where the trim fixes back on, had the dashboard out to get the main power cable through from the engine bay. Ok this was 2004 but I’m sure I was pushing 200 sheets of DynoMat....each week I’d go buy more as cost wise I had to break it down But boy what a difference, worth the effort and good on you for eventually doing this for your Step Dad Nice one Dan 👍🏻
Well done mate. I've watched so many clips of people applying sound deadening incorrectly. Seeing you clean all surfaces properly and using a roller to make sure the sound deadener is bonded correctly to metal is something lacking in alot of clips and critical for longevity and performance. Also the amount you have used is the way I have planned to do my van. Too many people only apply a small sheet here and there which I believe defeats the purpose. Do it once do it right. Top job bro. Looking forward to watching you doing the next step!!!
Great series mate. I was planning on do my caddy van and once I saw your 1st vid, I ordered all the materials and gave it a go. What a transformation, some good little tricks I didn’t consider that worked out a treat. Great vids to follow along to. Champion!
Hi Dan, I’ve done this job on my own caddy. Results were fantastic. Yes you should do a caddy build after juicy’s completed. I’ve searched on you tube, and I can’t find many videos on things like caddy single rear door conversations. GTi front end conversation for the caddy. Suspension lowering etc on the caddy van. Lots of videos on people making them day vans , no one doing the mechanicals. The channels doing great mate . Cheers. Ian
Thank you so much for watching and for the comment Bud. Yes I think I am going to search for one. Would probably run alongside the Mk1 too as the views for the channel have dropped right off.
If you want to make the interior the B pillar trims look better look for a vw caddy maxi 5 seater in the breakers, they came without a bulkhead and dont have those horrible gaps down both sides ,they also go right up to the roof lining and finish it off and way cheaper than vw who want 150 quid per side. Also if you get a caddy ,you can fit a whole vw touran people carrier front half interior into it,dashboard too up to 2015 .Ive done it to mine and it changes the feel if it inside massively .
Thank you so much for watching and for commenting Bud. Yeah I have been looking into it all since I did this one. Hopefully my project will be a decent one!
Definitely get one, I’ve had two great vans. Great vans. If your putting bulkhead back in, make ply infills for mesh area and carpet to match back, much quieter. If your looking at lowering it at rear speak to Carl jones at Jones Springs and get updated reprofiled rear springs rather than axle flip, far more suspension travel along with stiffer suspension. Lower front with springs or coil overs.
Very nice project there D , its a great idea to take a break from the golf as you say it will be great to get back to it . Like a refresh 😉 top quality job as always
Love your tip with the mole grips! We have a special tool for the job but I'd say your way is possibly a better option! I'm currently doing a Caddy conversion and because I didn't want to reuse those clips and didn't have the tool to hand, I ripped them out using a fork 🤣 I'm posting on Instagram but will eventually post on RUclips too. I'm looking forward to finishing your video to see how you transform it :) x x

Had 2 tidy Caddy’s myself, Dan. Always gone OEM+ route with them; done well, they can look very, very cool. Nice work with sound deadening...you’ve now got me very curious to see what you could do with a Caddy. Keep up the great content on the channel, bud.😎
Thank you so much for watching and for commenting Alex. Glad you enjoyed it. I have some idea's I want to do. Hardly ground breaking stuff but I can't find video's on any of them anywhere! Hopefully will get the views! Thanks bud.
Definitely get a caddy and have a go. I love my caddy and in the process of doing similar and butting rear seats in from a Routan. Just don’t get a 1.6tdi
