In this pro wrestling documentary, I attempt to take a look at the dark side of the ring, with the rise and fall of one of WWE and WWF biggest female stars, Joanie Laurer, Chyna. From Chyna's tragic upbringing and harsh childhood, through her transformation into a goddess in the gym. From her time at the Kowalski wrestling school and her debut in WWF alongside Shawn Michaels and Triple H and DX. We will see how Chyna competed in the WWE Royal Rumble, WWF King Of The Ring and even defeated Jeff Jarrett for the Intercontinental Championship. This is part one of a two part WWE documentary.

Chyna, a wrestler that deserved much more love and respect than she ever got. Rest in peace Legend ❤
She wasn't a good rassler. She made the lucid decisions to bang multiple guys and do her drugs.
You have to love yourself first before you expect love
@@nicolebailey4426 exactly. Demeaning herself with a circle blowjob is the very definition of "no self-care".
😢😢😢😢
Terrible worker, but behind all of the height and the muscles, was a vulnerable little girl who SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN THE BUSINESS IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Vince McMahon, HHH and WWE did her dirty in the end. It's a shame she died so young. Miss her in wrestling.
Don’t leave trampy Stephanie out of this list.
Bret Hart is still alive despite they did him dirty. It's no excuse for her. She would still be alive.
@@borngreat-4-life930No one is the same. She died from a broken heart.
Everyone just accepts that about them. No punishment and no shame. It's horrible.
Theyre getting their comeuppance as i type this.
There will never be another female wrestler the size and power of this woman. She won the IC title!
A true legend! I hope I did her career justice
Female...😂 Ok
Chyna was no female. Study anatomy.
There already are female wrestlers of the same size and power.
@@chrissalem3747 Hell NO, Inspired WannaBees at Best. Jade Cardgial Inspired by Chyna Period.
Chyna was fluent in like six languages. I don't know why she didn't use that skill to her advantage after wrestling.
She did spend some time teaching english in Japan
She definitely should have had a bigger career after wrestling
Because she still wanted to be "Chyna," not Joanie. Still chasing a dream that crashed and burned. She was smart and could have done something else besides being a wrestler. She went to court to have her name change to "Chyna " doll. She didn't want to be Joanie. Unfortunately she lost her life to drugs. Wendi Richter 1980's top female wrestler was screwed by the company. She wrestled at other places and she went got her masters degree and became a physical therapist. Muhammad Hassan was the middle eastern villain who had a brief run in the WWE due to a real-life terrorist bombing he was released. He is now Mark Copolli and a school principal. Life is how you handle it .
@@nicolebailey4426difference is Chyna was backstabbed by wwe (vince,Stephanie and hhh) then black balled by wwe (vince) she had acting deals that were taken away no support system and now income taken away....
A kind hearted woman a gentle soul wish things could have been better for her
I agree, me too!
We still miss her, man. We love you, Chyna!
I still miss her I love you
As a recovering alcoholic/addict a lot of these stories hit me in a certain way but her story has always been one of the most tragic to me. It wasn't really her time yet, she had more growing and learning to do, and the whole world got robbed of something when she died.
🤣🤣 oh yeah? what was I robbed of? 🤔,she was an steroid freak, she was a WWE creation, she broke down as soon as she was out of WWE,she was a hyped up emotionally unstable.
Is it her steroids period you admire? her porn adventures?
She wasn t worth it.
Congratulations on your sobriety, and I don't feel sorry for Chyna. You may find it mean, but I had a mother addicted to drugs. When you have children, they shouldn't have to go through your bullshit. Fortunately, my mom recovered. Yes, it happened to her. It was terrible, but she had other talent, like teaching English to JAPANESE students. She still wanted that glory.
Yeah. The sad reality is that people often don't recover from childhood trauma, and it makes it more difficult to deal with setbacks as adults. We're lucky for everything she gave us while she could. I hope she knew how many people she'd inspired.
@@nicolebailey4426Chyna didn’t have kids
She is a REAL Wonder Woman from DC Comics.
Absolutely a proper hero figure
Ya she should have been cast as the wonder women
It's time for the WWE to induct Chyna into the Hall of Fame this year or 2024. It's long overdue.
Ya
She may not have been the best wrestler in the world, but the confidence and the spirit this woman had to go for what she wanted, and you can’t teach that.
on top of it she was a sweetheart.
I would have never wanted to be Chyna. Don't keep your head in the clouds chasing a dream. I can recall a wrestler 1980's top female wrestler Wendi Richter and she was screwed. She wrestled at other organizations and she went to school to get her masters degree and became a physical therapist. Muhammad Hassan was an excellent middle eastern villain who was released because of a real life terrorist attack. He is now Mark Copolli and he is a school principal. There are quite of few wrestlers who are alive and aren't chasing a character but being their true selves.
@nicolebailey4426 it was male dominated entertainment. She did alot to achieve where she got. The catalyst for her down fall was Triple H hooking up with Stephanie. Not that I wish anyone had her life, but for most part she did well for herself.
@@JanneSmith-n8r umm who hasn't been cheated on . Her downfall was herself. Sorry but she was not as emotional strong as physically. I care about my life and yes there are no guarantees. How long ago was the affair. Over 20 years ago. Matt Hardy was cheated on by Lita with his friend Edge. Sure he was hurt and he lost his job with WWE. Guess what all 3 are alive and the guys may no longer be friends but are married . Edge of course is divorced and married a different woman. Lita is doing her thing without Matt. She wanted the same payment as Stone Cold and I am sorry she lacked charisma she just had the physique. She was not about paving the way for women. She was written in to win IC belt. She thought she was a part of the Kliq. The female wrestlers today are more relevant because of Stephanie McMahon. Charlotte Flair she is not. My point is in life there are obstacles it's how you handle it. I was happy she was teaching English to Japanese students. However the porn dating X- pac doing sex tapes and drugs are a no go. Triple H and Stephanie did not cause her death. She did, yes it suck what happened but she could have been a winner. Believe in yourself and do what is best for you. There is no debate on that. There is nothing wrong with getting therapy for depression drug abuse but you have to be responsible for your life.
The Ultimate Warrior couldn't wrestle either. Chyna was a totally unique character and told a story that people wanted to hear. I just wish we'd gotten more of her, and more women like her after.
She was definitely before her time. The WWE didn’t appreciate her during her era. RIP Joanie. 🙏🏾
Such a sad end. She's the kind of person I'd just like to sit and make jokes/converse with. She had a sharp wit that tends to be underrated.
She seemed so friendly and kind too
What happened to Chyna? I heard she died.
@@judycrisenbery2982are u serious ?? She died in 2016 smh
@THUGNIFICENT666 you never know what's really true these days, there are a lot of hoaxes out there all the time. Don't tell me you've never read any hoaxes about famous people dying. But thanks for enlightening me
Ya I miss her
I own that redish purple dress that Chyna wore towards the end of this video and in the documentary. Her mom sold it to me on ebay pretty cheap. RIP Chyna you were awesome and we miss you.
That’s random, a bit mental and an interesting little fact
Nice
Do you wear it?
Yeah sure lol
Do you wear it throughout June at the parades?
Omg I had no idea she went to college & did all these amazing things before wrestling. As a tall woman I’ve always admired Chyna when I was younger. Being a bigger woman & owning it! Looking great & confident in those outfits. I hope she knows she’s loved & missed ❤
She definitely knows 🤗💕
Ya
She unfortunately wasn’t as confident as she portrayed in wrestling. She had severe depression and serious anxiety, along with other mental health issues, and fell to her temptations.
It's taken me a couple of days to get around to watching this. I've watched a few things on Chyna before and there were a couple of things that were new to me. This was really well made and really respectful.
I thought so too. So beautiful and I wish she had more time.
I remember specifically the first time she came out and debuted on RAW as DXs bodyguard and I couldn't believe my eyes. I never saw a woman so big and muscular in my life. HHH broke her heart when he got with Steph. But also he was with her behind Chyna's back until he broke the new to her. He was with Steph way before it was known to her. And that's what costed her her job in WWE. Vince was probably scared for his daughter's life without a doubt. Top that with the awkwardness that H probably felt being around her. But most of all Steph. I believe Steph was the main reason. We all know how women are. And just Steph bring around Chyna or just knowing she was working in the same place of the woman who probably still had a lot of feelings for her man. Then Steph's awkwardness as well knowing that she was banging H while they were still in a type of relationship. Jealousy.
Yes; F Steph and Triple H. Chyna was Wronged Big Time. RIP CHYNA💖
Triple H is a snake who'll screw anyone over to climb that corporate ladder. If I were a Wrestler he'd be the last person I would trust.
Ya I loved her I want a big and muscular like her
She was obviously juiced to the gills. Not beautiful at all.@@WillMcConnell-hv4xd
Sad story. I’m in the minority, but I loved the original Chyna. No plastic surgery, before she was famous.
It gets so much sadder too! The second part of this documentary has been brutal to research and edit
She was such a ground breaker. God rest her soul.
Sad 😥😭 that no one was their for Chyna when she was going through turmoil in her life.she was a beautiful woman nice person great athlete.
I was always impressed with her body, the combination of the right genetics and hard work, it was like she was born for the ring. I do wish she was treated better and that we could had seen more of her.
Anyone who works as hard as that to achieve such amazing physique is impressive. However, as i've done more research, it appears she was taking all sorts of stuff to help along the way. Still doesn't take away from all the hard graft in the gym.
She was a beast man very strong woman way stronger than a lot of men, I wouldn't have wanted to fight her in her prime lol.
@@WrestlePodof course she was, but name a pro wrestler who wasn’t in those days.
She took steroids
Lita and Chyna remain my favorite women wrestlers to this day.
Joanie Laurer, "Chyna" was so much more before Plastic Surgery & Playboy, we all admired her for her natural raw talent and unique femininity. She didn't need to conform with WWE and our shallow views of "looks" .. Her natural beautiful presence was forever lost 😞 HHH, DX, would of been a lowbrow mid-carder gimmick at best if not for Chyna.
Very well said! I totally agree
She was awesome 🤘🤘 so glad i grew up with watching her and seeing her wrestle live. She truly was an amazing person. Just so sad how it ended RIP joanie. Thank you for the memories
CHYNA was and STILL IS MY FAVORITE WRESTLER !!!!!
A true pioneer for women in WWE
Yea you should see that 6 on 1 that was the best wrestling match she ever had
As a man who is just 5 foot, 4 inches

i have the biggest soft spot for amazon

I miss CHYNA SO MUCH!!!.
i would argue that even long after i'm
gone....
There will NEVER be another female wrestler comparable to CHYNA.
In her time....
Even though she never knew of me....
I've always held her in high regard.
TO THIS DAY....
i am SO MAD AT HER for her literal
overdose of alcohol & muscle relaxers.

Women's wrestling wouldn't be what it is today had it not been for Chyna. RIP to a legend.
Triple H did her dirty
The whole affair was a mess for everyone involved. Such a shame as both Paul and Joanie seemed so happy in their behind the scenes documentary.
She's definitely missed 😢

Chyna was awesome, and she deserves her own spot in the HOF, not just with DX
I agree totally

Chyna was treated badly by McMahon and the WWF. I felt bad for Chyna. I just felt like she was being used. Then she died. Really sad
Past trauma does kill!!!! This is why things like this help. We need to actually talk about pain as much as we talk about the good things. She has healed so many women just by paving the way. I hope her spirit can see the impact her body paid the price for!!!
❤❤❤
This is so inspirational, what a woman! 💪
A true legend of wrestling
She would have been the all time mrs Olympia champion if she had took it serious. I’d say she was the all time gifted genetic female in the world that we know of
It's strange how when a woman dies, no one writes "Rest in Peace." Rest in peace Chyna!
I don’t understand what you mean
What do they say when a woman dies, then? Rest in peace is not exclusive to men.
Lisa Moretti, known as Ivory in the WWE, was one of the few people backstage to help Chyna after Triple H ditched her.
What's really sad to me is that the last video Chyna put into RUclips was her saying she wanted to sit down with Vince, HHH, and Stephanie, and reconcile with the WWE. In that video she looked sober and looked to be in better spirits.
And then within months she was gone.
Maybe she wasnt as skilled as Hart in the ring but she could put on a show!
She used what she had and used it very well. Fighting men was just a natural progression because ahe was so much bigger than the women it looked ridiculous.
She entered the Royal Rumble, she won the IC title twice! She helped HHH move forward and she absolutely made DX into something even more incredible.
She also was the no1 contender for the world championship.
Shes a legend and is still the greatest and most successful female wrestler that has ever been! ❤🎉
A proper female legend
Her look became more feminine over the years, she was beautiful. She deserved a better ending than she got. R.I.P Chyna
Beauutiful 😂
Still miss her at times....you're missed, girl!
Such a shame she died far too soon
Every time I think about her, I get choked up about how she suffered terribly before she died, and how she went out. Simply tragic.
i enjoyed this
excellent upload 👊👊💪💪
keep the great work up bud
Thanks, will do!
If they do a movie about her, Bayley should be selected! They look very similar!
I don’t see it
Chyna had a broken heart and never got over HHH, you can't blame Steph or HHH, The biggest misconception in life is we think we can control who we fall in love with. That's not true, attraction comes in many ways. She suffered from mental health, and couldn't mentally get back to a balanced ground. It's a sad story
I can and do blame triple H for how their relationship ended and for the wwe let go of Chyna.
Damm Joanie....😔....RIP legend. You paved a way for all female wrestlers.
And she’ll never be recognized for that, even after death, the world fucks her over. It’s just not fair.
Loved, loved, loved her. Before the surgery and after. Beautiful, strong, tough. She I think was and is the only female enforcer/manager to take out men. She was awesome! Such a trendsetter. Miss her so much! Why she’s not in the HOF in her own right. Not just in DX. She deserves her own stage to be placed on. The only female intercontinental champion. And will be the only one forever.
Rip Chyna
I love how I’m the beginning taker gently put her down when delivering the choke slam the choke slam 😊
Its sad how unfair life was to her. Its even more sad that she never found true happiness and her demons always got the best of her till the very end.
Triple H having that affair with Steph really messed up her badly. He was the one person who could have saved her life, and he basically ghosted her after the breakup. Triple H, Stephanie, Vince, all scummy individuals.
Agreed
I enjoyed every secind of that. Great topic, and very well done. I actually learned a few things i I didnt know...like the contract negotiations she kept denying. But done in great taste and i cant wait till part two.
Thank you, I’m happy to do the great lady the respect
It’s so sad that she had to conform to beauty standards by getting plastic surgery. Chyna was so beautiful and strong. A true role model for women. R.I.P. Chyna.
She would've been a huge Hollywood action and comedy film star. I saw her being the female Arnold Schwarzenegger from a celebrity standpoint. Chyna is one of a kind.
Rest in paradise. Hope you found your peace.CHYNA WILL ALWAYS RULE.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
That match right there was the match that got Jeff Jarrett fired from the WWE. He held Vince up for more money or he wasn't going to show up and lose to a woman. When Vince bought out WCW,he actually had a camera on JJ and on live TV told the audience that he was getting fired immediately.
No, Jarett's contract had already expired and was headed to WCW . He agreed to do the match if he was payed up front what he believed he was owed because he didn't want any issues getting the remainder of his pay after he was no longer working for the WWE.
Steriods physical trauma childhood wounds and insecurity is a recipe for destr😢
She was the real life Wonder Woman! Stronger than a man but was all Woman in man's business.
Great documentary. She's truly an amazing athlete and was so well-rounded outside of that, wow. Would've loved to have known her personally!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Chyna will forever be missed
Huge personality for which actual WWE female wrestlers should have a lot more of respect! I think Chyna was a TRUE role model and far ahead of her time...⚘️
Why should they respect someone that didn't respect them? She detested womens wresting and did not want to work with them.
@@chriskay1449 considering how women in the industry were viewed, as well as her desire to prove herself to others, can you blame her? I don’t think she had anything against female wrestlers themselves.
@@dewilew2137Yes I can blame her. Yo uknow how you prove yourself? You show you can work with ANYONE and make THEM look better. That means she works with the women and brings them up with her. She absolutely did have something against the women or she would have worked with them. Trish and Lita would have LOVED to work with her. She was selfish and egotistical as anyone. I guess she learned that from HBK.
Wow, her life pre-wrestling is fascinating just as much as her wrestling and post-wrestling career.
I think so too!
I remember seeing one day she only had like 38 televised matches in WWE. ..
Think about the impact she had on the industry and she only had a couple of matches!!
Wait what is this true ??? Damn only 38
That’s not true bro, she had 91 televised matches. But you’re right, she made impact like no other woman did.
She was a genuine kind Soul. It's always the pure hearted that get fkd over in a wicked place.
Your videos are great and well put together 👍 I praise your hardwork

I saw her on Surreal Life. My goodness none of that was fake. I wanted to throw my arms around her. Why couldn't people be kinder? She was always trying to prove herself.
Holy shit! If you look at her early ring attire it looks like HHH stole her look! Especially that hat! Remember he use to wear a hat like that? In his infamous interview when he proclaimed he was the Game and he was that dam good with a huge chip on his shoulder. When he first introduced his Game character. Just look!
This is a really really great video love Chyna and always have!!! She accomplished soooo much.
Thanks
I'm not a wrestling fan, but I was aware of her. I always thought that she was a good person and I felt sorry for her because she seemed to be unhappy. I'm very happy to see there was so much more to her than wrestling. Her accomplishments away from wrestling were truly impressive.
Loved her on third rock, with John Lithgow and french Stewart. She was funny lady.❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My wife still greatly admires Chyna as one of her idols. Because of Chyna, she started with combat sports (judo and kendo) back in 2000s. She is now a semi-professional and won several local competitions.
This is an amazing story, thanks for sharing!
This is epic work on your behalf. Thank you for sharing your vision. Cheers!
Chyna was a cool ass character. She switched the game up because of her size and strength. Its sad how the industry eats these people up.

To be able to Powerfully say whay she said in the Beginning, was Absolutly Everything. Thank You Chyna and Rest in Paradise. She still deserrves to be here. 40s age is still young in my opinion. It's truly tragic the way she left us. I met her once, back in the day at a car show. She shook hands and signed my book " If they only knew " and I told her I could care less about the cars, I had just come to see her in person
After she got cosmetic surgery. She looked more feminine. That's when she got paid big bucks to pose in Playboy. And one of the biggest selling issues. And probably in attempt to appeal more to H if you think about it.

My personal opinion, well there will never be another that comes close to Chyna, her Lita and Trish were/are in a class by themselves but Chyna will forever be my #1 Diva, hands down, the body, the hair, the look, unmatched, RIP Chyna, forever in memory.
I met Chyna around 2014. She was so sweet, honestly. She had her problems, but she was always excited to meet her fans. 🥺 I miss her a lot and was devastated when she died.
Completely missed out the sexy mamacita storyline of Chyna & Eddie Guerrero.
Good people always end up in a terrible state..
Chyna loves the business and hunter
But ended up being alone for no fault
I really hope she found peace. She really loved wrestling but it seems like it was used against her more than it was used to her benefit.
An icon.
Rest in peace, Joanie.
So sad, that a woman could take part in a male-dominated industry, but get chewed up and spit out by exploiters and enablers.
I think she should would have a lot happier, if she stayed in Japan and taught kids.
When she came out everybody thought she was a man but no the playboy picture speak for itself😢 rest in peace you amazing woman
She was a dominate force in wwe but with HHH being with steph broke her all around. And knowing the pull steph had being Vince daughter and her feeling awkward being around her at the time so called man got her released and she couldn't deal with her no being popular and dealing with her demons caused he demise. She is gladly missed in entertaining me watching wwe.
She should have pursued a show like Xena. She would have been excellent. Or started a wrestling school. I hate that she felt so lost after her time in the WWE. She was a real trailblazer and icon.
She was truly one of a kind.
Her voice was so beautiful.. i could hear it all day
