- The newest Paramount+ special, called "South Park: The End of Obesity," decided to take some shots at Lizzo and call her out for her "body positivity" movement that she projects on others. She gets completely wrecked by the special.

I used to be almost 500lbs. My thoughts were always “It’s MY life and I’ll live it how I want!” That’s all fine and good but fast forward 15 years and I’ve lost the weight (now I’m 231) but all that free will living I did came with a price. I lost both legs to diabetes. You can lie to yourself and roll your eyes all you want at “BODYSHAMERS” but they’re RIGHT and you better listen up!!!

Honestly, body positivity to me was about accepting or showing bodies that didn't fit the "standard" because maybe you had idk... a shorter leg, or a missing arm or your face was different or whatever and you could feel "normal" and ok... but all of a sudden it became all about obesity... kinda sad
Yeah I believe body positivity was about showing and accepting bodies aren't considered standard like missing limbs or a deformity from birth that people should be proud of it.

Right which I thought was unfair. People can't help to have disabilities or body defects. Not even different bodies but different ethnic groups as well. People can do something about being fat. Fat people bullied themselves into the cause.

You would see these type of print magazines at your local grocery store near the checkouts, Barnes & Nobles, Borders bookstores, Fry’s Electronics and so on. The front covers get your attention to open the magazine and view the articles for that story back then but now with technology and smartphones with the social media toxicity, RUclips has content creators to make these in digital format for your entertainment when it comes to clicks. I’m a Millennial so majority of us Millennials, Gen X, boomers grew up to these tabloids so if your a Gen Z, now you know 😂 lol
I don't care if you want to be obese and happy so long as:
- You don't get mad when people aren't attracted to you because of your weight.
- You pay for any extra space/seats you take up due to your size.
- You don't expect me to pay for your increased healthcare costs.
- You don't lie to people about the health affects of obesity.

I hadn't laughed that hard at an episode of South Park in a long time. I'm surprised more people didn't pick up on the Stormy Daniel's joke either. This was one of their best ones and points out the reality of having to go through the American healthcare system. It's not even jokes. It's pointing out the reality of how obesity has become a business where the rich can afford it, but the poor can't, so for those people, there's Lizzo.

Not enough is said about the inescapable truth that being overweight drastically shortens your lifespan. That might give the body positivity crowd pause for thought.

@@AbrasiousProductions You are still alive, it's not too late. PS - I'm far from perfect, I used to drink far too much alcohol, but I stopped 13 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. At 48 years of age, I now feel fitter than when I was in my 20s.
@@silvernova354 I'm 5 months sober from energy drinks, I've quit drinking those for good, you think I'm unhealthy now, I was horrible when I drank energy drinks, constant heart pains, it affected my cognition, those drinks should be banned.

I didn't pay for drugs or act like it's good I bought a boxing bag cheaper and better. when I was young a dr offered liposuction, I turned It down and lost weight through diet and exercise that was 2 decades ago, so I know how to do it again. And in knowing how comes confidence. that's what needs to be pushed not drugs or not giving a fuck.

Once I wrote a list of all the drugs I saw commercials for in one day. I don't watch a lot of TV but when 5 out of 6 commercials are for drugs the number adds quickly. So I took the 3 page list into the doctor's office with me. He thought it was hilarious. Yep I'm goofy like that.

As a person who has struggled with weight most of her life, I feel like body positivity started from a place with good intentions but has become an excuse
The same tends to apply to all clinical diagnoses. They're came up with to identify a problem and help society, but people mostly end up using it as an excuse for their bad behavior.
Mad respect to Trey Parker and Matt Stone! Through SouthPark they've routinely highlighted societal hot topics in America and beyond over the years. SouthPark is often goofy and at times even clumsy, but I think the creators have genuinely, and consistently leveraged the show as a medium for calling out some of the absurdities in the world. There's no doubt we Americans are fully in the clutches of greedy corporations that are preying on us no matter where we turn. Good that we still have the freedom to speak out against such corruption.

It's kinda better that she doesn't care about how she was used in the special, a lot celebrities enter the South Park universe and while some are positive the others become the basis of a joke and the real life celebrity can either ignore it, own it and laugh, or go crazy further proving the point of the joke.

I've heard a lot of people say that advertising for drugs is "dystopian" because it should be up to your doctor to bring up medicine with you, not the other way around. I would remind you of one of Thomas Sowell's favorite questions: Compared to what? Just a couple years ago people were getting banned from RUclips for spreading medical "disinformation" about a certain "horse dewormer" that people were asking their doctors about.

To counter Lauren, I have yet to see one television ad about medicinal Marijuana. Yet, it is one of the most widely prescribed treatments for pain and anxiety. Federal prohibitions still do not prevent people from learning about it and asking for it.
Dystopian would be a world where people who actually need the drugs can't get access to them, and where we are is the reverse of that.
@@bajorekjon Advertising drugs isn't good. It's less bad. The alternative to drug companies being able to advertise isn't a world where independent doctors make wise decisions. It's a world where government decides what you're allowed to know about before consulting with doctors who are restricted by government to what they can recommend to you.

2. Take expensive drugs that may have adverse effects on you. No self examination, habit evaluation, or personal growth necessary, just lots of money
