    Slick design! From the I-beam to the hidden tool box, to the "smile" cut out strap holes, to the removable fenders, to the hide away ramps, and even new tail lights! Adds new flavor to an older style trailer!!

    I recently ordered and purchased the new GTF and am over the moon at the quality of this trailer. I constantly get compliments on it. Besides from a few issues during shipment, the trailer has been outstanding. If you're looking for a new car hauler, give these a close look and I'm willing to bet, you won't bother buying anything else.

    I'd like side rails that would remove or lay out to widen deck so that I can set a kennel up on it at hunting camp.Where kennel panels would go around outside of tire/ wheel/ fenders. Haul buggy, kennel panels and all at once.Unload buggy, move transported dogs from kennel in truck to trailer kennel.Gotta check it out.Trailer is neat.

    What's your recommendation for a battery when you install a winch? I tried a group 24 interstate deep cycle and the posts just barely touched the lid. The box needs to be about an inch deeper. I wanted to put it in a marine box but there's no way that will fit. I ended up cutting a quarter of an inch off the positive post and stud so that it wouldn't touch the lid.

    What does the under side of the trailer look like. Specifically the rear of the trailer where the ramps slide in. The back of these trailers get take a beating. They tend to drag alot and get damaged. How are the rear lights protected and mounted. That seems to be the area that i would question. Even with the 4500 pound Lincoln the rear of the trailer got pretty close to the ground. So if you were to load on a not so perfect ground, would you damage those lights. You mentioned quads and side by sides, how about dragging it while off road. I do like the hinges being on top and the ramp door flipping up. However, i do wonder if the door would be in the way if you were to drag something up onto or off the trailer. I use my 102" wide with drive over fenders to haul my tractor, mostly. I like not have side walls so its super easy to tie down, nothing for the implement to deal with while loading and i can use just as i would a lowboy. I know that a "car hauler" isnt a do it all trailer and you cant build one to make everyone happy in every situation but i would really like to get a better look at back of the trailer. Yall make great stuff and i am not trying to point out anything negative, just real world experience questions.

    Ok, I'm not upset anymore that I didn't wait the 8mo for the new trailer and just bought a PJ off the lot. I missed ordering the old car trailer by like a week after you stopped taking orders for them, and you were so backed up and I needed it, so oh well. Plus, nobody would give any info about it. I haul both jeep/tractor/car stuff with mine, but I also haul logs on it, so I need the front header and even actually just got done making an elevated winch enclosure and second, higher header bar. The I-beam I'm also ok with, but man the under side of that rub rail thing is going to be hard to keep clean, hard to get powder coating to stick in the corners of, and hard to stop rust from happening over time. That seems like a place that would get salt spray up in it from the road, but wouldn't get enough road water or rain water in it to clean it out.
    I do really like the rear ramp setup, though! The latch and the flip up drawer cover are great! The flip-down covers on the PJ are crap for fit, and they hang partially open so they fill up with sawdust and such when I cut the logs on the trailer and roll them off onto the splitter.

      @@diamondctrailers thanks. On the new GTF how many inches long (front to back) is the entire diamond plate section of the V-Tongue Lid, both the portion that opens plus the fixed part that contains the swivel D-Rings? Trying to determine how much extra usable deck length you would gain in front of the actual wood deck. Like 2' or 3' etc.

    • @diamondctrailers

      @@noosh8316 Great question! The tongue is right at 60” long from the front of the wood to the coupler channel. We will get you the measurement from the front of the lid to the wood. 👍

      @@diamondctrailersok thank you. If the lid on the new GTF is the same size as it is on the LPX and HDT trailers, then it will be 36" long from front to back of the entire diamond plate, including the section that does not open.

    With 6k axles could it be rated at 12k?

    • @bradleykelley7775
      @bradleykelley7775 3 года назад

      I saw on their social media one time they keep it under 10K due to some states requiring a CDL. You are right. the gross weights would be around 10K but they downplay it alittle

    • @claycurry643
      @claycurry643 3 года назад

      @@bradleykelley7775 right. It makes sense but if it could be ordered with a 12k gvwr then that would be the perfect sized trailer for both a car and a big truck without having to buy a way overkill trailer like a 14k.

    • @noosh8316
      @noosh8316 2 года назад

      @@claycurry643 part of the issue with them putting 6K axles under this new trailer is: they still only give you enough tire rating for a 5K axle due it having 15" wheels.

    • @txviking7801
      @txviking7801 3 года назад +3

      They didn't advertise it as a commercial use trailer. It's a car/toy hauler. Most people who buy a trailer like this will have side by sides, a race car, or a show car and want a trailer to tow those without going enclosed. I use similar trailers for towing in my project trucks.

    • @cryptkeeper5346

      Normal 10k trailer has 5200# axles.
      6k has bigger brakes also.
      It’s a car hauler not a equipment trailer.

    • @jamesyork6023
      @jamesyork6023 3 года назад +3

      A standard 14k trailer would have 7k axles. This one has 6k axles and is de-rated to 9890 lbs for CDL purposes, how does over-making a trailer classify it as junk?🤣
      If someone had a half ton and routinely hauls 4-5k cars and only occasionally wanted to haul something closer to 7 or 8k, this trailer is leaps and bounds ahead of the typical channel frame flimsy 3500 lb axle trailers from other manufacturers.
      For what I would use the trailer for, hauling old project cars, occasionally putting a dually pickup or larger classic tractor in the 7-8k range on it, this would fit the bill perfectly for being towed by a half ton and not having to worry about getting a CDL to pull a 14k trailer. (My state requires CDL any trailer over 10k)
