Constantine is amazing! Apparently Brian May from Queen thought so too since they approached Constantine about recording this song for their Killer Queen Tribute Album, which he did. There's actually 2 versions of Bohemian Rhapsody on the album. They had already recording the first one and added Con's version after they heard him sing it on American Idol.

He was so exciting to watch and he worked hard. When he came back as a guest singer he rocked it. They forget that these kids were singing constantly. It wears on the vocals and they are exhausted. Rock of Ages seasoned him. Being on a hit show takes away the pressure Idol put on them. Thank you for the videos. I just saw Rock of Ages movie. He had a cameo. Shame he did not star in it. They lost out. Constantine! YOU ROCK!
I just have to say that Constantine is a performer! I love David Cook. I love Blake. Jordin was great. But...Constantine was/is a performer and he was so fun to watch! I could not wait to see what he did on American Idol and I was soooooo sad he left when he did!
This amazing performance changed Idol forever. It was breathtaking and so very different from what we saw each week. Constantine opened the door for other artists including Adam Lambert. Still breathtaking, even 16 years later.
Pat H I agree. Queen had picked Adam Lambert years later as a "fill in" front man of sorts. Adam is n awesome showman, that's for sure, but...I have to wonder what Queen would've been like had Con fronted at least one show.

Actually this performance became a landmark in this competition in the future. Things like "Singing Bohemian Rhapsody like Constantine" was said in the next few seasons of this show.
i was never a constantine fan but i love how genuine his "thank you's" are at the end during the judges critiques. the idols now always act like their sooooo surprised to hear a good comment or try and defend themselves. his simple and genuine "thank you's" are what i like to see.
IMO, this remains the best performance ever on American Idol. (Simon explained "astonishing" the next night. It was a genuine compliment. :) But that was 4 yrs ago now, and Constantine hasn't stopped working since. He's back on BROADWAY but this time he has the lead role in a brand new show where he originated the character. Go see him & the cast rock out in ROCK OF AGES! - the hottest new show in NYC. U will smile. U will sing. U will be moved. U will love it! DON'T STOP BELIEVING!
I saw a “rock & roll man” yesterday. Constantine was fabulous. I posted RUclips videos today from the show. He was incredible. Worthy of another Tony award nomination
Con was the first to put on a real show for the AI audience and this was just fantastic. I remember sitting there with my jaw dropped and not being able to breath. It was and still is one of the best performance we have seen on AI. Great job Constantine!

He didn't get robbed. He was singing show tunes and Partridge Family for pete's sake!!! This was his "rockiest" song and Nickelback which was all-time bad!!! He was better than Vonzell and Anthony, but Carrie and Bo were miles better!!!

Randy just didn’t like Constantine did he? He puts on this ground-breaking, professional show and immediately Randy is like, “Constantine?! Hey Constantine!” He let so many other contestants have their moment after a great performance, but with Constantine he tried to cut the applause and give him a freaking 7.
This is going to be a really random story, y'all, so hang on. I'm Greek Orthodox. On Good Friday last year, my mom and I were unable to make it to church for the service that night. So we decided to watch a live stream of some church elsewhere (it was a big city, but I can't remember where O_O). The camera pans the congregation, and who do we see but Constantine! And this concludes my random story. Thank you. (On another note, this is really, really good)
This is why my family stopped watching the show as well. We could never get through to vote for Constantine! It was obviously fixed, we all (my family and a ton of my friends) were so pissed! He should have won, hands down!
