i was lucky enough to see Al Green live with B.B. King and Etta James at the MN state fair around 2011 and Al was amazing, just as high energy and his voice was just as good if not better than when he was sporting his afro in the 70s. Everyone i talked to there said they were there for Al Green, but having Etta James open and B.B. king closing the show was just the cherry on top of an al green sundae...Al stole the show, unfortanately since we were there to see Al, my then Gf made me leave b4 BB King finished his act, i still regret not staying for BB's entire show, i could only hear"Ive been down hearted baby, EVERRR since the day we met" in BB's signature groul, from outside the auditorium as we were leaving. then to add insult, to have my drunk friend who didn't attend the show, tell me the bar band singing Sublime covers was better than the show i just saw..😏yeah right bud, i don't care if it was the real Sublime singing from beyond the grave in there, it wouldn't be as good as the show that the legend Al Green just gave...he didn't even know who Al Green was, I said "Al Green is amoung the top 10 greatest singers of all time fool, personally I'd put him in the top 5 or better, so there's a reason why Al's on the big grand stand stage and not in this dingy state fair bar singing covers, there's no comparison..." dont tell me ur '89 ford tempo is better than my Rolls Royce cause you just sound ignorant and uninformed.
