    I get it now! I'm a big, scary-looking dude with very visible tattoos even on my hands and face, and people are so surprised when they see me smile, which is a lot. The moment someone notices me doing or saying something kind or generous, they seem to gravitate towards me. I always wondered how, as a very socially awkward person, I've been able to effortlessly make friends. I guess I'm a walking contradiction.

    • @felity1773

    I agree. even contradiction itself is present in this theory. Only marrying a contradicting person mostly never works but only in movie. In reality divorces happen. My wife was supper opposite of me. we never found a single common ground, not even 1 nano meter. I liked sex she didn't, I liked watching movies, she didn't, I like being loyal, she didn't, I liked to communicate and be straight forward, she liked to stay silent and expect others to do telepathy. It only lasted there was negative chemistry between us, we had chemical reactions always.

    • @ablurida
      @ablurida 11 дней назад

      I'm sorry that happened to you but since it doesn't have much to do with the video I suggest you try therapy if it is accessible; if not look up attachment theory. I mean this in the nicest way possible, i am reading a lot of blaming and not a lot of taking responsibility. She might've been the most horrible human possible, Idk I wasn't there. BUT. YOU chose her. That means something. Try to dig a little if you don't want to end up alone or with someone similar. Best of luck.

    • @sanketvaria9734
      @sanketvaria9734 10 дней назад

      @ablurida this is what happens when your are thinking and reading only on surface level. What I said was sarcasm, true story yess, what I am trying to imply is that the video is wrong and there are genuine reasons why opposite people do not match along. It's worse now a days because it's highly risky for men. They may lose their property, their half of the income, their dignity, life etc. recently a guy committed suicide in india due to men hating laws. So it's rather safe to marry who is just like you, your chance of self cancellation are less and higher chance for having a happy family. Guess what, I am getting married again this feb and my new wife is perfectly compatible with me, her values, interests and morals 80% match with mine. Further solidifies my belief

    Something as simple as a smile or a laugh, or a bit of a joke, to make light of some common public situation like standing in a boring queue or squeezing past one another on a narrow sidewalk... can do exactly what you're talking about. It totally breaks us out of our modern habit of marching along, head down, nose buried in a smartphone - as we have been conditioned to do. I know this doesn't sound like doing the opposite of what others expect, but sadly in today's society it is and on the occasions I have done so I find people respond as if it's a breath of fresh air.

    The permanent juxtaposition. I’ve lived in this most of of my life and it’s really paid off and benefited me. Thank you for articulating it so well.

    I've come to live with the burden of being very approachable. If people are gonna ask a stranger, that's me. I've been told I have a very open presentation and am easy to approach and talk to. So what contradiction should I go with?

    Great deep dive into contradictions psychology. Makes sense in some ways. I think that it really ticks people who did their work on frontal cortex, yet I feel it doesn’t work with those who didn’t. I at any case enjoyed your video & now enjoy thinking about the topic 😊

    I appreciate your mission with this channel. Subscribed! Well written, I enjoyed most of the editing. My only push back as a black person is the characterization of black people being the opposite of white people. I know what you mean in terms of a literal color spectrum, but even on a surface level I don’t love delineating the two “people groups” as opposites. That’s my only pushback. Otherwise I enjoyed the video and look forward to more content
