I'm learning much from your videos, and starting to see the consistent rules to follow. 1) travel whenever possible, opposed to using jumps 2) underlay should be perpendicular to fills 3) avoid applying fills where additional fills will be 4) plan and layer your stitching order to what is essentially the order objects would be stacked I imagine I will see more consistent rules as I continue watching!
Always good to learn from an expert. The three points I have noted are: Underlay should be opposite direction to fill, complete sections before moving on, and do not carve holes for lettering. I also noted that the lettering still has underlay even though it is on top of underlay and fill. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. So much I need to learn, but your videos are clear and by watching what you have done to repair this design, the information that you give is far more easy to grasp. Many , many thanks for your time.
You are a great educator... Thank You! I am struggling on the Tatami underlay, when to use the double tatami over tatami. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Bonnie
I keep hearing to mention of to to Totame used as a underlay stich. I don't have Hatch yet... But I do have wings xp piolet and very limited to the underlay. With the options available as such: tacking, single double zizzag and cross etc... How much different is the zizag+double compared to a Totame underlay?
convinced all my designs are auto digitized then "edited" off of that based on this video can you review a file that i have as well ? you dont have to embroider it or anything but just give an opinion on it so i can discuss with the digitizer
That’s the reason you are #1 in digitizing, sharing & caring 👏🏼

It’s just another word for fill stitch. The underlay usually runs the opposite direction of the fill stitch.
This was very informative but shouldn't you delete the overlapping to reduce the stitch count and the bulk of the design?
Lucinda Craig a bit of underlap/overlap is necessary to eliminate gaps and promote registration.
That shrunken head Pineapple always makes me laugh. 👍
Mama T one of my favorites :)

Thank you John! I once had someone years ago tell me my embroidery was too soft. Little did they know, it was digitized correctly. 😂👍😂
