The 987 Spyder is my favorite non-track car for fun, feedback, and pure enjoyment.

CGT is my ultimate dream. I was lucky enough to get a 10/10ths ride in one on a racetrack at the Porsche Leipzig test center a little over a year ago. Surpassed all my expectations. This Spyder is a TON of fun.
I have a 1988 toyota Camry, 5 speed manual, zero driving assists minus power steering and it weighs 2400lbs with an exhaust. I already drive it like this. Im scared that if I get a porsche boxter or cayman imma do 150+ everywhere I go

I mean the steering in particular, its crazy to me to see how u steer sooo much to the left and right to go straight forward and not hit a ditch or a tree at that speed. 2015 GTS manual is a phenomenal car... if you can find one... arguably same rarity or rarer than the bucket manual 987.2 Spyder. I think there is only one manual boxster GTS manual in the USA for sale at the moment. The long gearing is a myth. All cars can use shorter gears to have more fun on the road, sure. Same way that you can never add enough parmesan cheese to pasta... but the 987.2 to the 718 GT4 all have the same gearbox and ratios ruclips.net/video/VMmyoTmS8r8/видео.html
Nice driving, great sound, fantastic car. I wish it would have a shorter gear ratio, though, for even more immersion. Don't get me wrong: I would be very thankful to own a Boxster Spyder in "standard" form, but a shorter gear ratio would make that thing even more entertaining. Except someone only likes PDK, but I think that clientele has other Porsches in their garage.

Yes, both. The 981 is more fun because it has better theater. Make sure you get manual and bucket seats. The only thing it lacks to the 718 is Apple car play
@@DasCayman Croatia. They actively measure emissions with a probe in the exhaust during a yearly tech inspection. Impossible to get around it, even a 200 Cel cat fails the test.

For you to get in the higher ranges you’d have to downshift at the wrong time and mechanically force the engine over redline. You can force the engine over redline by staying in gear or in neutral and continuously adding throttle. You’ll hit the fuel cut from ECU

You’ll “only” experience fade on track. Sure you can go quick on street, but it’s never truly flat out for 30+ minutes like a track would be.

My dream car, saving up for it so that when I turn 16 I can afford it. Go karting every week so I am worthy of driving it.
Karts are a great place to practice balancing over / understeer. Their lack of suspension leaves everything to the driver
Make sure to save for insurance too. I made this mistake when I was young and got hit with a 1k + insurance bill.

No, just kept my foot a little too much on the gas when the clutch was pressed in. At best, engine hit its fuel cut / rev limiter at 7500
