That's a really nice tutorial! I personally prefer Vivaldi and Brave, which are having build in adblockers. But it's useful for the Chrome users out there!
Hi !!! Here NewSpartan dev. Tomorrow at 18UTC I will commit a new version. It will include tabs and new favorite system. Sorry for this short comment, RUclips isn't displaying the long one :,(
I just tested it, nice work! Cookies also appear to save correctly now, so closing the browser now no longer logs out my accounts. A couple suggestions for 0.0.3: -Keep the tab width the same no matter the site title length (otherwise the tabs look a bit off when opening sites with very long titles, or very short titles) -Acrylic titlebar (if possible)
@@laglife Thanks for your feedback.I did nothing for the cookies, so it is MSEdge related. I already experienced the Tab bug, and to fix it you need to navigate behind windows buttons to add new tabs, to close the tab. Last, what is acrylic titlebar?
There might even be websites that only work properly on Chromium-based browsers. I'm not really sure about today, but around 10 years ago, one of my family members had to use Chrome because the website of an airline doesn't work properly on Firefox.
it's so sad and litteraly so stupid that Manifest V2 is gone and google still tries to disable adblockers telling you to remove it (as it says in the extensions page) still some chromiun browsers, like edge (chro) still haves their way to install em and having it enabled forever, but yeah
On ChromeOS Flex and no sign of it even starting. (Chrome 113.0.5672.134 (Official Build) (64-bit) and ChromeOS (flex) 15393.58.0 (Official Build) stable-channel reven)
ChromeOS 113 is over a year old (released May 2023), you should definitely update. Manifest v2 extensions being disabled seems to only apply to Chrome 127/128 right now
@@laglife Oh. It said it was the most recent version of chromeOS Flex (or at least what latest.zip downloaded me) Is there a more recent version? If so, can you, in any way, tell me where to find it?
laglife remember my comment of my asking you why are you using linux? well im switching to linux when 2025 arrises (sorry for bad grammar as i said im mexican)
@@laglife In edge by some reason (as for me) i can install Manifest V2 Extensions, e.x uBlock Origin and have it enabled why? by some reason it dosent get disabled and its up

Are'nt those also Chromium based?

(Legacy Edge uses this in the titlebar for everything except for active tabs)
@@laglife Oh thanks !!! I will do it for the next update
Better alternative: Use firefox instead and you'll have manifest v2 forever
But that may change soon plus most people can't move from chrome to firefox because they hate changes.
@@OfficalKennyMcCormick They'll have to get used to changes. Our world is rapidly changing.
Then it is quite easier to just accept the manifest V3 less changes.@@everypizza

Thorium and Brave won't be affected so yeah
And android?
I don't see the Google key in the Policies key, even after closing Chrome. What do I do?
Just create the key, it shouldn't be there by default
Is there a reason why this works until june of 2025? Will chrome remove this policy or something else?
Ask google not us
@BurnerAccount101-ui4et kind of hard to ask support something that's UNsupported
This policy will be removed in June 2025
@@laglifewill this affect other chromium browsers too?
laglife remember my comment of my asking you why are you using linux? well im switching to linux when 2025 arrises (sorry for bad grammar as i said im mexican)
But manifest v2 still using for all browsers (except chrome), will still available on supermium
V3 applies for chrome only
Supermium runs an older release of chromium
Latest chromium non ungoogled releases all warn about manifest v2 being phased out
do you still use arch or do you use kubuntu? (host pc/laptop)
Arch, switched to it in May
@@laglife oke
@@laglife also im guessing you use arch, not any of the arch based distros like endeavouros, right?
Nice video, however, I prefer different browsers.
I prefer firefox but don't have a choice on ChromeOS. I will try this but im thinking that it wont work
Use the Linux version, ChromeOS is Linux
work this with Edge too or is Chrome only ?
Edge should have a similar policy, haven’t checked though

nice
Does Supermium 121 care?
No, in fact one of the goals for Supermium is to maintain Manifest v2 support
@@laglife good
Is that a real mac or macos in a virtual machine?
Not a real mac, it's a VM. Should work just fine on a real mac though
