Dude I been ramper for 4 years the worst part about this job is dealing with the weather and sometimes the bags can be a pain in the ass because some ppl have to pack the closet in there bags 🙄 But I love it now and couldn't imagine doing anything else it's easy flexible and has its perks!

Aircraft as wonderful as they are can seriously damage or ruin your day . Its about working as a team and having eyes in the back of your head . No day is the same either on the ground or in the air . But I had some good times and met many amazing people.

I’m a ramp agent myself for CLT... it’s a lot tougher than you think. It’s a decent career but you better make sure you be mentally ready for ridiculous thing like your pay check being cut shorter randomly, write-ups, drama among other ramp agents, extreme weather, and attendance! It’s not a very fun career, you’re only there to fly.
Gotta disagree with you on the fun part. For me It's a very fun career for me. Everyone has their opinion but me personally I love my job on the ramp. Pays good, with good benefits. Great people to work with for the most part and flexible schedule. I work at ORD and would recommend for anyone that wants to get paid for basically getting a work out, plus the flight benefits.

At lax position I applied like a month ago and yesterday I just passed all my paper work ect and us customs and border security access . Wondering if soon I will be called to train . Lady said she approved me and she notified the station for onboarding .🙏🏻💪🏻

ya forgot managers can be a pain the back side.. when you are short staffed and they still demand on time departures, then act all stupid why it left late!! Ya can not turn a fully loaded 757 (all four bins stuffed) in fifty five minutes with 3 people! Or normally we had four turn arounds with 9 people, We were turning ANC and SEA on the corners, with 2 DC-9's in the middle gates just for fun.. something is not leaving on time! them toss in fity below winters (MSP), or torentual sideways rains, your are cold, wet and hungry, and something always hurts. boots full of water, your and your but is soaked thru... Physically demanding is an understatement! its more like getting your but handed to you most days!!! 12 Years I was down there, with 5 as a ramp chief.. Northwest MSP and LAX.. finished my career with delta .. but damn, I still miss it, and would go back in a hot minute, but its a young mans game! It was the Best job I ever had!!!

Me who works for Menzies Aviation in YXE, search up the weather, its like 8 months of winter and barely 3 months of summer, the temp goes down to -30C with windchill, thats like -50C, and the company provides you shitty clothings, I didnt even recieve a winter jacket, all I have is a rain coat, I got fed up and told the management the shit I'm dealing with and we get 13$/hr, which isnt bad in summer, but in winter... its a shitstorm, our employees have even asked if they could get any winter bonus like getting a bit more paid during winter season. But nope no response. I have applied for screening job at the airport, which is much better, its a inside job, nice uniform, less busy at this airport and more time to study for my pilot license.
