As an old service tech, I carried barrels of grease and had a high pressure air operated grease pump. Greasing valves on gas wells used up a lot of grease. Used the stuff we called peanut butter on the wells down south but learned the hard way that it would freeze up here in WV. Had to start using the more expensive stuff to handle the cold. Really enjoy watching your vids and have much respect for how you work. Believe it or not but sometimes I miss that kind of work. It’s true that it gets down in your blood. Godspeed Zach and may he continue to bless you and yours.

I’ve run into warranty problems like this with other manufacturers; my solution is to go buy another (obviously you’ll have to find a brick and mortar store that has one) wait a couple of days and take the old one back with the receipt from the new one. Usually they’ll tell me they will replace it with another-I tell them I want a refund because if something that expensive breaks that easily I don’t want it. I don’t feel bad about it because the store is going to get credit from the manufacture and I get what I paid for.

My grease gun symptoms have to do with where the battery mounts. I haven't taken the time to take it apart and find out, but this is what it does. I pull the trigger and nothing happens. I wiggle, move, hold the battery until a trigger pull will work and if I don't jar the gun to hard, it will continue to work until I bump the battery again. It does it no matter which one of my batteries I use.

Check out Metabo cordless tools (not Metabo HPT). A lot of the 18v and 36v lineup is still made in Germany and most of their stuff can take severe abuse. I work commercial construction in the rain and dirt all the time, throw them around, dropped a drill 30' onto concrete once and only cracked a battery. Still have a couple batteries from 2016 that work decent after thousands of charge cycles, and even one from 2011 that isn't completely dead yet. Not crazy expensive like Festool is either.

In OEM configuration, that switch only turns on the electronic relay what carries the motor current.

On some grease guns you reverse the rubber seal inside the tube if you are using cartridges as opposed to refilling. Not sure if Milwaukee has that feature, but I know Lincoln does. 2 of my Milwaukee grease guns have trouble with that dosing feature and your video is exactly what I was looking for in order to just bypass it.

I opened them up, the older does have conformal coating, the new one does not. I guess Milwaukee decided to save a few pennies per tool. Nice fix on your part. The PCB may also have driven an LED for illumination, another function you can get by without.

The "fuel" lineup is prone to have gremlins. If you are a man sized man, your pinky finger will accidentally change modes on the impacts, infuriating because it happens most when in a tight spot or reaching an awkward fastener. If you are running screws in, decide to back the screw out alittle, but don't give it a second or 2 to register that you've switched to counterclockwise, they will drive the screw on in. This is terrible if you're installing metal roofing, doors, or covers...

Just buy another grease gun on Amazon. Then when you get it say you want your money back, and put the broken one in the box and return that.

Good catch.. I had forgotten that that seal is reversed when filling from a drum vs a cartridge.

It appears that those boards have not been conformal coated. Had they been the water damage that you have experienced probably would not have happened as the coating seals as well as insulates. The process is so inexpensive it is hard to believe that Milwaukee skipped this but who knows. You can pick up a spray can of the stuff and cover your circuit boards with it to protect them. Pay attention to any 'cooling process' built into the board as you DO NOT want to insulate these surfaces with this coating.
Just as an observation, you, yourself, are hard on tools and prone to not respecting them. Your business is known for destroying tools in short order so...

That's a bum deal, it shouldn't matter if it was bought on amazon or at home depot! maybe they don't like dealing with tools bought on amazon because any joe-shmo could make a amazon store and sell goods, possibly procured in a manner that is unfitting of a retail , brick and mortar store... If someone wanted to they could buy a pallet of returned tools and sell as new, or even stolen goods being sold as new.

that little tiny microswitch might burn up, it prolly just switches those two fat transistors soldered to the board
but when it does, it's a cheap part to replace, or you can stick a lightswitch on the outside like you said lol
get your vacations in now, no sense at all in hanging onto money in this economy
