One thing I am confused about is when you use hubspot to read and respond to emails, I notice that the emails in gmail are not marked as read. What is the best way to use hubspot inbox to communicate with clients but not let you gmail inbox show all as unread? Or maybe I'm not understanding how to use hubspot.
Great point here! The conversation inbox does not sync back to mark emails as read in Gmail, or any email provider. The conversation inbox would essentially be in place of needing to login or access the traditional email inbox. Trying to manage both would not be recommended. You will want to simply replace that Gmail inbox altogether and exclusively view/manage it within HubSpot.
Even if you have a forwarded business email with your personal gmail is that a different setup ? Or it would be the the forwarding email I use overall?
This depends on how your email is set up. If you have an email alias, that won't be able to directly connect. If you forwarding business email to a personal email but still responding from the business email address, then be sure to connect that to HubSpot and not the personal email.
Hi and thanks for the video. I was wondering whether this allows me to create/add to a Hubspot list using the names and email addresses from the existing emails in the Gmail inbox. Is that possible?
The Gmail integration is set to only sync contacts you engage with post integration setup. It will not sync previous contacts or emails from the past. You would need to send a new email response or manually add in those contacts.
Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues logging in. Your best option is to contact HubSpot support to see if they can provide some assistance. Good luck!
